My family and I have seen this rock from the Circle Line and on a nice and wonderful day. This rock is visible from Columbia University's Baker Athletics Complex, it represents school pride but has a long history of local lore, including as a daring, albeit dangerous, cliff-jumping spot.

Been by this (via the Circle Line and viewed from across the river at the Columbia Stadium) all my life. My Dad’s fellow Columbia Crew members originally painted the Big C. Totally authorized.

Jumped off the top of the rock as a kid.
80 -90 feet?
Had to avoid the "shit" line.

We were allowed to admire the stone for 45 minutes. A majestic sight.
Much better than its neighbors "B" and "D" in the alphabet. A successful work by the artist.
