Everybody loves a redemption story. That's what this is. This is my second review for J. Alex. Two years ago, my daughter, her roommate, and I used J. to find them an apartment. They were under a time crunch and he really came through. Because he did such a good job, I referred him to my sister when my nephew needed to move. They did not have such a great experience. I felt really bad because I told them what a great job J. did for us. It seemed there were some significant miscommunications and misunderstandings. I let J. know how disappointed I was. He responded, shared his side of the story, and said how badly he felt. Based on their experience, I would not have used J. again. However, my daughter and her roommate really loved and trusted J. so when it was time for them to move again, they wanted to use him. They're grown and were paying with their own money, so it was their decision. And J. came through. He clearly showed that he wanted to make up for what happened before. He and his staff were very proactive, communicative, and responsive, and found my daughter and her roommate an amazing apartment. J. and his team also took great care in walking them through the entire process, to delivery of the keys and beyond. I really appreciate that J. went the extra mile to show how much he cares. I can once again confidently recommend him to others.
I I knew navigating New York real estate would be challenging so I sought out agents who could sell my Brooklyn coop apartment effectively who were also experts in finding my dream home—a Manhattan condo. I spoke with several brokers who didn’t quite fit the bill, but when Wendy and J Alex walked through my door and were charmed and excited by my brownstone details, I knew I’d found my team.
Not only were they incredibly proactive and supportive throughout both the sell and the buy, which had its share of issues, but they were very honest, responsive, and extremely communicative. In short they listened to all my desires and concerns, “got things done,” never pushed me into a decision, and were a joy to work with. Over the course of my search they became family. I heartily recommend them if you need a crack team to navigate through the complexities of New York real estate. I’m so glad I hired them. I found the home I’ll live in for years to come.
