I felt as though I was at a five star hotel at West Chase Hospital!! My experience was great and comfortable. Everyone from the phlebotomist to the nursing staff was awesome. All of the nursing staff provided excellent care and were all very professional. A special thanks to nurse Eddie who was supposed to be off but was called in and was happy to serve. I never thought I would be happy being in a hospital, BUT this experience made me quite happy. When I need surgery again, West Chase is my choice!! Thanks to everyone.

I would NOT recommend this hospital, especially if you or a loved one is undergoing surgery and needs proper care and support during recovery. My loved one had knee replacement surgery here and stayed one night on the inpatient floor, and the entire experience was incredibly frustrating due to disorganization and poor communication from the staff.

When my loved one was first taken to the inpatient floor, we were told that only one person could go into the room to avoid the chance of infection, and that we needed to sign in. That was fine and understandable. However, we were then told we could wait in the waiting room, but when I left and came back, I was not allowed back up. I was told I couldn’t wait in the inpatient waiting room and had to go down to the lobby instead. I was also told that I could only come up to the inpatient floor when the patient room had no visitors. When I tried to swap with the visitor in the room, I was rudely scolded by the front desk receptionist. I explained that I was just swapping with someone, and she, in a very condescending manner, told me I needed an escort to go to the inpatient floor. I was treated rudely because the STAFF had given ME conflicting instructions. How does that make sense?

Another issue I encountered was when I tried to go into the nourishment area, something I had already done previously. I was told I wasn’t allowed unless I had a staff escort, even though I was simply trying to grab a paper cup of water. Why this required an escort is beyond me.

Additionally, during my loved one’s stay, the nursing staff were loudly arguing right outside her door in the middle of the night, disturbing her sleep and negatively impacting her recovery. This is completely unprofessional, especially in a hospital setting.

On top of all of this, it became clear that the hospital doesn’t have enough equipment to properly treat patients recovering from surgery. The whole experience left me questioning the hospital’s operational efficiency.

Ultimately, if you or a loved one need a surgical procedure and want clear instructions, respectful treatment, and coordinated care, I highly advise looking elsewhere. This facility simply does not meet the standard of care that should be expected in such a critical setting.

UPDATE: so I was contacted by the hospital and the we’re more than happy to talk to us and definitely help rectify the situation and issues we had with our stay.
Which I will say it is a nice quiet place and not a big hospital so you do feel like you’re prioritized more. But definitely one bad nurse can make the difference. So thank you.
(My wife had surgery in this hospital and it seemed great at first. The surgical team and nurses seemed ok. But the post opp care did not seem very knowledgeable or helpful. The two nurses on one shift seemed to have conflicting opinions of how to handle getting in and out of bed. There was an issue of not giving meds and calling it a clerical error. (Also note the 48 hrs we were at hospital they only verified DOB for meds one time which I thought would be pretty common practice to make sure you’re giving the right meds to the right Patient) They did provide food for the patient was really good food, apparently from what she had said So five stars to the chef. But when we decided to leave, there was a big mixup in the Discharge paperwork where we had half of another patients discharge paperwork that ain’t cool. Also they were supposed to change my wife’s surgical dressing within the 48 hours But they told her that her doctor would do it after she scheduled an appointment Due to the fact that the paperwork Was mixed up. So definitely a zero star For medication chain of custody, overall communication, and organization.)

Great Hospital staff are amazing Doctors are caring and kindness is abound. You are made to feel like you’re staying at a 5 star hotel. A special mention to Dr. Shenaq and Dr. Recardo. Best of all being a smaller hospital there is no constant paging and other disturbances allowing the patient to focus on recovery.

Altus Staff is amazing. I literally just left from having my procedure and wanted to write my review. From my preop call to discharge everyone was friendly and welcoming.Even Greeting me in hallways as they walked by. Roslyda, Roman, Nancy, Dr.Oshi, Mama, Tess, Lashonda, Dr. Li and the ladies at the front desk made my experience today very comfortable and eased my anxiety. Thank you all for your hard work, being a trusted staff and your tender care. Keep up the good work!!

At first I was nervous going into my surgery since it was my first major surgery. I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Every member of the staff was warm and welcoming and treated me like I was their own family. Huge shout out to my night staff for making sure I was comfortable and taking amazing care of me. The facility was also very clean and spacious! I would recommend Altus hospital to everyone!

I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment this morning to have MRIs done I took off of work in order to make this appointment I arrived at the facility at 8:45 so that I could complete my paperwork before my 9:30 appointment I completed my paperwork and used the restroom and was waiting and at 9:32 a gentleman came out and informed me that the person that does the MRIs had an emergency this morning and that I would not be having my MRI done today that I would have to reschedule I have no one to fall back on financially I am completely by myself and go paycheck to paycheck in order to make my bills I do understand unexpected things coming up out of nowhere I also understand emergencies that happen in life but it would have been nice if someone would have called me ahead of time and told me that I didn't need to waste my gas or my time coming to this appointment that was going to end up being rescheduled anyways it would have been nice for them to have gotten a hold of me instead of letting me show up at the facility - then turn me around and send me back on my way.
But on a positive note all of the staff members there are extremely friendly and they are helpful. You feel a very positive happy welcome Vibe when you walk into their facility I do appreciate that about them very much . Their facility is also very clean

I had surgery in January and what a terrible experience. My doctor was great but that’s it! New management. No food or drink. Had to stay 3 nights. Family had to go get me all meals. Got an infection in my incision when i left which I am assuming got there which made me get another surgery at another hospital. Super disappointed. Hot mess except my doctor and his pa. They rock!!!
