Dr Michael was great but my overall experience wasn’t that great! While at the hospital and soon after my serous foot injury and surgery, one of the therapists at Kindred got me on a scooter without any prior practice. 3 minute later I fell on my injured side. I let this go because I thought it was an anomaly. But then here’s another poor quality incident. I returned the loaner wheelchair in April 2025, but I’m still being charged for it. I called the hospital several times and left two voice messages with the case manager. And no one has returned my calls or taken care of my issue. The manufacturer is threatening to send my account to collections if I don’t pay for an extra 7+ months because the hospital hasn’t returned the chair and foot rests to them!

If I could give Kindred 0 stars, they would get it. My mother was in their “care” for 5 months. On March 1st of 2022, I was contacted & told that my mother was bleeding out & was being rushed to Memorial Hospital-Sugarland & told to go straight there. I instead went to Kindred. Seeing my mother in the condition she was in was beyond sad & infuriating. Kindred didn’t check her blood to ensure that the Warfarin daily dosage she was on didn’t need to be adjusted. Even though she was given multiple blood & platelet transfusions, the damage was too great for her to survive. This “hospital” gave my mother sedatives when i explicitly told them not to. They also never told me that my mother had grade 4 bed sores. It was a complete accident that I found out. Memorial Hospital-Sugarland nurses told us that they had never seen bedsores worse than my mother’s. My mother was a good person and wanted to live. She didn’t deserve what she went through and how neglected she was by Kindred. I can only pray that these people get what they deserve when they stand before GOD on Judgment Day; every single one of them!

This place has been absolutely amazing! Amazing STAFF and amazing service! We have absolutely adopted them as family. They treated my wife and I wonderfully. They took great care of her while checking on me throughout this process. They will always have a special place in mine and my family heart!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're happy to hear you found our team to be caring and supportive. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we will share your kind words with our staff.
We had to call the nurses several times to have my loved one turned, which was very concerning. We also had to request clean linens instead of them being provided proactively.
There was also feeding tube food left sitting in the hallway, which is not appropriate and raised concerns about cleanliness and overall care standards.
Some of the nursing staff were not friendly or attentive, which made an already difficult situation even more stressful for our family.
I truly hope improvements are made in patient care and staff responsiveness, as every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and timely care.

My mom was admitted here after a motor vehicle accident. I was expecting way better care from reading the reviews on Google first. But our experience was not great. The first day she was admitted it took two hours before someone even came and checked on her. I went to the nurses station and was told they were in the middle of shift change. Any time I would talk to someone regarding her care I was met with this same attitude the whole time she was there. The nurse managers were the only ones who were professional, which I had to call them sometimes when I could not be there because my mom would be waiting over an hour to have her brief changed and the nurse managers would go find her aide or nurse and make them change her. Anytime I could be there, I would help with taking care of her as much as I could. But it seemed like she only got good attention when I would be there, when she didn’t need them as much. The case manager, Mercy, was horrible at communicating with us. The first time I spoke to her she was already talking about sending her to an SNF. My mom was completely unable to walk and could not get out of bed and only able to use one arm which was not her dominant. We fought for her to stay here until she at least had surgery to remove the pins in her legs and could begin proper therapy but they did not care. I don’t believe the case manager ever tried or advocated on her behalf. I was ready to appeal and had basically written my own appeal letter and it never even got submitted. I spoke to Mercy about my concerns to the point that I got frustrated because she just kept telling me that she could go home and we may have to hire a caregiver to take care of her. She did not care at all about my mom progressing, she only wanted to have her discharged. Imagine going from being completely independent to not even being able to walk, knowing you need more therapy, and a hospital telling you you’re ready to go home and to hire a caregiver and pay them out of pocket. They sprung her discharge date on us at the last minute with only a few days to decide where she should go, and they didn’t send the proper paperwork to insurance so there was a whole mixup of us being financially responsible for almost two weeks. Which was a ridiculous amount of money. We did get this sorted out but it was after so much stress and unnecessary arguing with these people that we were just ready for her to leave. You would expect a hospital like this to advocate and be helpful during the discharge process but they were completely not. There were a few people who stood out and actually cared - Kayla (cna) and Yaya (cna), Sarah (cna), a few nurses. But overall this place does not care about your loved one and I would recommend doing your research and sending them somewhere else if you are able to.

My mom stayed there recently. After a horrible stay someplace else. My mom is elderly and has cancer. The place isn’t perfect but is good. My mom has been in hospital for 2+ months and there were times in ICU she was near death. They brought her back. This facility gave my mother a portion of mobility and allowed her to be able to come home. They arranged continued care. I would recommend this place. Not perfect but perfect for my mom. Thank you

I was originally moved to the ICU unit here while in a coma. There is no doubt in my mind that they saved my life. The nurses, CNA's, physical and occupational therapists ar all top notch and provide great care. I have to give special accolades to Kayla, Clare, Amanda, Olivia, Kush, Noorbert and Keri. I received excellent care while there, and everyone was very attentive. Unfortunately, I was forced to move to a different facility due to insurance issues. I originally could not do anything on my own, and was able to walk on a walker by the time of my move. While there for two months, I was encouraged and given the hope to continue to live. As an added benefit, the food was great! If there was a 10 star they would get it. Thank you for everything.

I stayed at Kindred Hospital’s Acute Rehab Unit in early October, and it was a fantastic experience. The nurses were wonderful, and the CNAs were just as amazing. I especially want to mention Ms. Judy, Nurse Titi, and Natalie — each of them showed such care and attentiveness.
Honestly, every nurse I met was fantastic. I hope and pray I never have to come back, but if I do, returning to Kindred would not be a problem for me.
Dr. Mike was great, and everyone in physical and occupational therapy was incredible. I did not want to go to therapy at first because when you are sick you just do not want to get out of bed, but they encouraged me and made me feel good. Their motivation helped me get stronger, and by the end, I felt proud of my progress.
I would like to thank all the leaders as well that came to introduce themselves and check in with me. I really appreciate that.
Thank you all for a wonderful stay. It is something I will remember for the rest of my life.
