Nursing staff at this hospital is practically useless. I was stuck in a hot room because the ac had stopped working and was told there was nowhere else to move me in the entire hospital. It was only once I took pictures of the thermostat temperature and my dr came to see me and saw my physical condition, sweating and dehydrated, did I get moved. No one once checked my legs and feet for swelling, even though I was on continuous fluids and diabetic. My legs and feet were swollen three times the size. The nursing staff is very untrained, and did not seem to know the basic procedures that a nurse should know. I truly believe they all took the same 2 hr course and paid for their certifications. Overall a horrible experience and mistreatment. I went to see my own doctor at memorial and was admitted immediately and given the proper care.

My family had a very concerning experience with the care my aunt received during her hospital stay. She had recently been diagnosed with kidney failure this whole thing is under l paragraph and had a port placed. We were specifically told by previous medical personnel that the port should not be touched or cleaned by anyone other than the appropriate medical staff.
The CNA caring for my aunt, Boma, was assigned to the Yellow Elevator, Room 2156. Despite being told that the port should not be touched, Boma insisted that the port needed to be cleaned and touched it. Shortly afterward, my aunt experienced itching and what appeared to be an allergic reaction around the port. When my aunt reported the itching to the nurse, we were told that the CNA should not have touched the port.
There were also other serious concerns with the basic care my aunt received. She asked Boma to change her sheets, but Boma did not return for more than an hour and later said that she had forgotten.
My aunt is diabetic, and her blood sugar was being checked every four hours. During one check, Boma found that her blood sugar was low and told her she would return with orange juice. After approximately 30 minutes passed and Boma had not returned, my uncle had to go to the nurses' station himself to get assistance.
This was extremely concerning, especially given my aunt's serious medical condition. Patients and their families should be able to trust that their medical concerns and basic needs will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
I hope the hospital takes these concerns seriously, investigates what happened, and reviews the care provided by the staff involved so that another patient and family do not have to experience the same situation.

I was thrown into a room in the back and left there for 4 hours with no word. I came in with chest pain and an ekg that showed abnormalities, but no one came in to check on me, nor did I get anything for pain. When the doctor finally came in to talk to me he let me know they didn't see any signs of a heart attack, and all they could see was a low sodium level. This was around 3:30 in the afternoon. I had asked nurse fir something to eat when they first brought me back to the room as I had not eaten at all. I am diabetic and knew my sugars were dropping. I told the doctor I wanted to go home after the nurse came in with fluids to give me but did not tell me what the fluids were and why I needed them. The doctor was not very clear on this point either so I could only assume it was to pick up my sodium level. They wanted to admit me due to sodium level being low?? My sodium levels run low and have been low since November. I did not understand why there was a concern about that at this point so I decided to leave ama. I'm now back in a different er with more pronounced chest pains.
