I am beyond frustrated with the level of care and communication at this facility. My relative was brought in involuntarily over 72 hours ago, and despite numerous calls and repeated attempts to get information, we have received no meaningful updates whatsoever.
Every time we reach out, we are given the same empty reassurance that “someone will contact us,” yet no one ever follows through. The staff has been consistently unresponsive and unwilling to provide even the most basic information about my sibling’s condition or status. This lack of transparency is not only unacceptable -- it is deeply alarming.
At this point, the situation raises serious concerns about how this facility operates. From our experience, it feels like patients may be kept longer than necessary while families are left completely in the dark. There are also troubling concerns about whether unnecessary treatments or medications are being administered without proper communication or justification.
The complete absence of accountability, communication, and urgency in a situation like this is inexcusable. What should be a place focused on care and patient well-being instead feels opaque and deeply concerning. This has been an incredibly distressing experience for our family, and we expected far better. Voyages needs to provide answers ASAP, you are dealing with people's loved ones and lives.

Be warned stay away from this facility!!! I would give it negative stars if it was possible just about everyone I've had to deal with for more than a few minutes all had the worst attitude and don't give a damn about you. Rolling their eyes like they're being bothered when you're just hoping to get questions answered and good luck with that since communication is nonexistent.

This place is terrible. No communication, no answer phones. When you go to the facility, they are rude and not organized. They didn’t give back my father clothes, they loose his belongings. I hated this place at all.

My experience is consistent with many of the complaints reflected in other reviews of Voyages Behavioral Health of Sugar Land.
There was little to no communication with our family throughout the process. Staff made no attempt to gather patient history or understand the incident that led to placement, which is essential for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate care.
I repeatedly called with concerns and questions and did not receive return calls. The same lack of response occurred when I tried to discuss discharge planning. There appeared to be no continuity of care or coordination with the family.
Ironically, the only call we received promptly was regarding financial responsibility and payment.
Families deserve transparency, communication, and collaboration when a loved one is receiving behavioral health treatment. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution others to carefully consider their options before choosing this facility.

Do not send your loved ones to this facility! These people do not communicate at all! My father was admitted on a Sunday night, no one reached out to me regarding his history or what happened in regards to his being there. I had to call everyday to try to talk to the therapist, nurse practitioner and doctor. The staff would tell me that they would give the message to them and they would call me back. In the meantime I would visit my dad on tuesdays, fridays, and sundays as allowed and everytime I went to see him he was worse than what he was before going there. He told me they were giving him up to 6-8 medications and wouldn’t tell him what it was for. It took a week before the nurse practioner finally called me back to tell me that my dad was only being given one med not 6-7. He also said that my dad was not participating and not coming out of his room. I had to wait another whole week before someone called to discuss discharge plans because no one would return my calls and I was eager to get him out of there. Everytime I tried to call my dad they told me they would give him the message to call me but he never did. Everytime I went to visit him, he was so scared and frightened saying that they were hurting him. I left him clothes but he was always in paper scrubs when I would visit saying that they had his clothes and he didn’t have anything to wear. He would be barefooted and shivering when he would come out to visit me. He was unkempt every time I visited. Upon discharge I saw a paper that showed they were giving him 6 medications after they had lied and said he was only taking one. Then they had him with diagnoses of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s which he’s never had in his life. When I asked where they got this information because it was wrong no one seemed to know anything. I couldn’t get my father out of there fast enough! Horrible, horrible place and he still has trauma from being there. This place needs to be shut down!!

The only reason I left one star is because there was no option to leave zero stars. I was taken to this place that they call a mental health recovery center on a perjured document. I arrived there with a complex fracture in my left big toe which affects your walking abilities. It took them 36 hours to get me to the ER and they were told I needed to return after the EDO Hold was over on Monday to see an orthopedic surgeon due to my very complex medical conditions and they did not take me nor did they give me the number so I could call the specialist. Furthermore I was not released on the date. I should’ve been for a reason. No one would tell me. I asked over and over repeatedly for a mental status as I have never been diagnosed With anything other than PTSD after my intestines fell out post surgery. I was denied my inhaler when I needed it due to an anaphylactic reaction to food and a nurse was standing 6 feet away and told me you have to wait till I pass meds at 9 o’clock, even though though inhaler was due, and she watched me as I eventually no longer could sit upright in the chair, and I fractured my tailbone on the floor of the community room. They left Me on the floor for 42 minutes while two other patients slowly helped hoist me up into a wheelchair. I begged them to take me to the ER. They refused and said they would call on dayshift. I am a nurse and I kept telling them that and I said this is a spinal cord injury. It is radiating down my legs. You need to take me to the ER instead, they picked me up by all fours and flung me onto the bed with a spinal cord contusion. It was not until the patient advocate insisted on an x-ray at 11 AM the next morning over 12 hours later, that they did the x-ray that confirmed I did in fact have a fractured tailbone. I did not get to the ER until after 7 o’clock at night 24 hours after the injury. I had staff put their hands on me while I was trying to hold study on the door to my room. I never had a mental status as I said I was put on a medication that I have been put on before for PTSD because they insisted I had to take some medication and it gave me graphic nightmare nightmares of the trauma I have had in my past. Every time I was told OK your holds up it’s time for you to go home. They would only let me call the person who filled out the form and purged himself and put me there by rights. They should’ve dropped me off exactly where I was picked up. By law under the state of Texas, if there isn’t an EDO hold placed on a patient, they are to be taken to the nearest facility. I was five minutes away from one instead I was taking all the way to your facility in Sugar Land, where I had the worst treatment I have ever had in my life at a hospital. If you can call yourself that I have very severe health condition conditions. I was denied the medication medications that keep me from going into kidney failure by the time I left my CT showed that my stomach has stretched over 12 inches due to this. I have major grievances with your company and your facility.

My daughter was placed here by her doctor. Upon being discharged, my daughter waited for her transportation to take her home. My daughter had only been alerted to the fact she was leaving with in minutes. It took her a few minutes to get her ride on their way. The Voyages offered to Criminally Trespass her from the property while she waited for 10 minutes, she had to physically step off the address of the clinic. My daughter is a college graduate, a kind and well spoken young lady, with nothing but peace in her heart. She had money for an uber. These folks were inhumane and the most unprofessional group of so called professionals I have ever met. When someone you love is in a mental health crisis DO NOT SEND THEM,TO THE VOYAGES IN SUGARLAND!! What kind of place is this?! We trusted our doctor by sending us here. But, what kind of facility cares for your mental health on the inside of the facility ( supposedly) then says good luck out there, btw, the cops will be here soon to walk you off the premises if are waiting on a ride?!?! So disgusted with these folks. They are truly a disgrace.

Please never take your loved ones here. Not everyone here was bad, but it was bas enough that I have to say something. Lots of the staff were absolutely rude. I complained to several different members of staff I had a bladder infection, and didn't get medication for five days. Was left lying exposed on a table while two nurses gossiped. Nurses that said very cruel things to me and about patients. Lack of care., easily escaping patients. The list gpes on. It's sad because some of the staff really helped me, but alot of the experiences there made me feel worse about myself. I hope it gets better. I think it needs better oversight maybe.

This place deserves 0 stars. Every single negative review about this place is absolutely correct. They don't listen to your needs, they falsify documents to avoid actually having to follow protocol, and they break every rule they possibly can to keep you there. They shove medication down your throat without informing you what it is before you even get evaluated by a doctor, amongst other things. I’m sure it’s to keep money coming in charging your insurance as much as possible. This place needs to be investigated and subsequently closed down. Only come here if you want to be wrongfully held against your will, stripped of your rights, and treated in a way that no patient, or human being in fact, should ever have to be treated.
You can file a complaint as well with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, I just downloaded the BHEC Complaint Form. Just in case someone needs to do the same!

The intake bathroom was disgusting. Waste of all kinds, paper towels, and toilet paper was everywhere and no trash bag to be seen. The intake nurse lied on my court papers and the deputy never showed up to take me to court. The majority of the nurses and techs were hard to understand except for Lorenzo a who was very nice. Most of them need to go to speech therapy to learn how to say the word ask and other words. Simone was very good at giving my mom updates about my hosplization but none of the doctors and very little of the staff did so. The menu for food was very limited with only having chicken, turkey, and burgers/cheeseburgers. Chicken and turkey i am highly allergic to and the Chef's did not care one bit. So, I had a total of 32 Cheeseburgers/Hamburgers while I was there and did not throw up. Safety was bad because of fights about two male patients wanting to date me even though i refused and two other patients escaping within minutes of each other. Demi was the best therapist because she did not say bad words or do bad gestures but Sonya did even though she said she wasn't allowed to she did it anyway even though I politely asked to stop she ignored that asserative request of mine. The insulation was really bad and it was 59 degrees everywhere so it was freezing and also no hot water in the showers at all. I did not have any privacy because the lab techs made me do 7 UA's instead of just one or two and the special hats have to be more available if asked by the patient.
Andrea Roland sent me a Certified letter asking for me to call. She refuses to answer the phone. Has she been fired, suspended, or something else?
