After two 15 day sessions therapy was no help. Finally second MRI revealed pinched nerve. Headed for surgery.

I can't say my patient received the best rehab. He had like 3 hours of speech therapy in the 20 days he was there. The staff was combative with my mom and kind of rude to my family.

We sent my grandpa to encompass for a 1 week rehab, we came and checked on him and he wasn’t doing any better. They then said he was able to walk and change clothes in his own, and when they discharged him he couldn’t do anything independently and still cannot.

Let me start off by saying this facility is very nice and clean, and the nurses there are great for the most part, I will not take that from them. However, my dad was there for almost a month after having a below the knee amputation, and was discharged at the last hour on a Friday evening. Originally he was supposed to go to another facility because he needs more therapy, but the case worker Natalie told him that he had been denied at 4 pm at the other facility(which had previously been approved)and that he would be discharged from Encompass health between 6-7pm this was on a Friday so of course we couldn't get in touch with anyone and had to bring him home (this has to be done purposely). My dad is not able to go to and from the restroom (so he shouldn't have been discharged), or even get into his wheel chair so he has been in the same spot at home since we left there in my family it's just us women and we have not been able to assist him. He has not been able to do follow up appointments or see his doctor as no one is able to help him into the wheel chair. I just think they could've done things better like make sure he was able to get around on his own, be more patient with him as I know he's a difficult patient as he doesn't trust well, he can't hear well at all, and he is blind in one eye all while just having his leg amputated so therapy may have been more difficult for him so instead of meeting frustration with frustration they should of met frustration with patience, encouragement, professionalism, reassurance, and firmness. Instead they wanted him out and I believe they either put false things on his charts or didn't do them right as to why he got denied for the other facility. Natalie should have contacted the insurance company and appealed the decision and tried to help in every way she could but she didn't nor did answer calls after the fact, as a case worker she failed him. He said all she did was say you can do this you can do that but she didn't understand he was trying to tell her he had never done anything without assistance, so how would he be able to do it at home alone with absolutely no assistance? He can't he's been in one spot since he left there and that's what those charts should've reflected. He was sent home with a catheter, and staples in his knee. Only one nurse has been over there once and it's been two weeks no one is coming out calling like they said they would. It is very frustrating as a daughter to not be able to help her father, or at least have the proper instructions (a better case worker could've at least made it more manageable with better guidance, help, and information on who to contact for help)but I am giving it all I've got. I pray none of you, it none of your parents are ever treated like this. I deal with difficult customers all day and though it's just customer service I still meet ppl with understanding and compassion so in the healthcare I would've wished they could've did the same instead they met frustration with frustration.

I was hit by a car and I had to go to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, My Physical Therapist was Katie is was amazing she helped me and she was excellent, Arie was my Occupational Therapist and she was amazing also they both gave me there 100 percent and I learned a lot from them. Thank you Katie and Arie! Matthew Roberts was my Speach Therapist he had interns working with and I feel Speach Therapy was a waste of my time I was did not get anything out of Speach Therapy with Matthew Roberts he did not work with me at all. I fell like my review for him would be nothing but a 1 he needs to focus more on Speach Therapy than playing 45 minutes of memory games Just to get money from my insurance! Matthew Roberts is the Manager and he should be reevaluated because he was no help to me at all he was a waste of my time at the end of my visit he said don’t forget to give him a review well Matthew the only thing I can give you is a 1. If I gave you a 10 that would be a lie. Maureen Shannon my case manager was supposed to help me with getting ready to go home the only thing she cared about was getting the insurance.. the psych drs assistant came to my room and all she care about was filling me up with drugs for depression I am not interested in that she came to my room daily and I had to ask her to leave each time came in I was there for rehab not for her to get me so medicated that I would have more problems after I was released.. They nurses care I had was ok but not the best. I do not recommend encompass in the woodlands for all these reasons. My experience was not good at all. I cannot give a 10 I can only give a 3! I would recommend that they care more about the people they are caring for instead of focusing on insurance I realize they have to get paid but that is there main focus not the patient!

Would have been a five but for the actions of the doctor overseeing this facility. This was our third visit to this facility and by far the best with regard to staffing. The were extremely thoughtful and very professional. The physical therapists have been outstanding each visit. My issue, and its a huge one, is with the doctor that oversees this facility. My dad is 93, he has numerous medications that have been prescribed by specialists in each field. We
have consulted with them regarding best time of day to take and interactions with other medications taken. He wanted to be able to continue those meds per his usual routine but the facity prefers to dispense them which i am sure is a money maker for them. OK so be it. We dont care for that but will let it go. BUT during the course of my Dads stay this physician decided for some reason to change the amount of his diuretic! Did not mention or discuss it with the result being that right after we left my Dad ended up in the hospital! By the time they were able to get all the fluid out of his lungs and body we were back to square one. All the time and effort spent building his strength up went right out the window. This person needs to be investigated or better yet replaced. So my advice to you if you go to Vision Park facility is make sure you check the meds they are being given EVERY SINGLE TIME to ensure they are following the correct regimen.

Encompass was high on our list for therapy for my 91 year old father with Parkinson's Disease because, as I was told in the initial interview, they are Parkinson's certified. The communication is excellent and for the most part, the staff is pleasant and quite helpful. The issue was that my father was given Haldol because he was deemed "combative". This is one of the drugs that is NOT to be given to Parkinson's patients as they most certainly should have been aware as being Parkinson's "certified". This lead to a downward spiral resulting in my father being sent to the ER in an unresponsive state. The ER doctor gasped when he found out what was given to him. At 91, bed ridden and with Parkinson's I would have expected that his uncooperativeness would have been dealt with patience and kindness, and if necessary, a drug that was in line with his condition. I did report this but have had no further communication with the facility, and would have gladly shared on a survey but never received one. This hospital is a wonderful resource for our community - but please be diligent if your loved one has any kind of a special condition.

My husband was at Encompass at Vision Park. The nurses and therapists were good except they were negligent in keeping the catherer clean which I believe may have helped contribute to his death. When he had to be moved to St. Lukes over night to put in new feeding tube because of old one being stopped up for not crushing the pill good enough. The paramedic said that was the nastiest catherer they had ever seen.. There were two Drs that would ignore us when we ttied to tell them that he was hallucinating. He told me that he was the professional and that he would move him to the hospital and would not allow him to come back.

He was eventually transferred to St. Lukes downtown after my daughter showed the video to a Dr. He seemed angry she had made the video and showed it. He passed away 10 days later. My heart is broken.
