I would not recommend this place. If you want to give up on life, come here. If you have a serious illness—especially cancer—it feels like hospice is pushed on you far too quickly instead of discussing every possible option.
When the palliative care team came to speak with me about my dad's condition, I became emotional and started crying. Instead of showing compassion, the provider simply sat there staring at me with a cold expression, as if waiting for me to finish. In one of the hardest moments of my life, I felt completely unsupported. My dad got sick again and we needed to rush him to ER.
My dad was so traumatized by his experience that he told us he would rather die than ever step foot in Methodist again. Hearing him say that was heartbreaking.
Based on our experience, if you're looking for compassionate care and hope during one of the most difficult times in your life, this is not the place to go!!

My Mom came in on Thanksgiving afternoon 3/4pm alive and alert and maybe a bit too lively. They intubated her within an hour of being admitted. She died at 11:11pm and we were chastised for being emotional. Do not recommend especially on a holiday while the staff is celebrating their own Thanksgiving dinner. Try to schedule death on non holidays. The entire atmosphere made us feel we were intruding on their celebration.

If I could give zero stars I would. This was the worst experience ever. Methodist really needs to review this hospital and revamp policy and procedures. My daughter came in for a broken leg (it was confirmed on CT) we literally waited after the confirmation for over 4 hours for her to get casted. This is ridiculous!!!! This place is way understaffed and not big enough to serve the community they are in.

I tried to give this ER another chance, but after last night, I will not be returning.

It’s disappointing when you feel like the doctors aren’t willing to thoroughly evaluate your child. During my son’s exam, the doctor looked in his ear but said earwax was blocking her view of the eardrum. Rather than discussing options or asking if I wanted the earwax removed so she could complete the exam, she simply stated that she would not remove it.

As a parent, it’s concerning because if the eardrum can’t be visualized, how can an ear infection be confidently ruled out? I work in healthcare myself, so I understand that patient safety and a thorough assessment are important.

I understand that not every situation requires earwax removal, but better communication and a more patient-centered approach would have gone a long way. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in the care and communication families receive in the future.

Got yelled at by a nurse because I couldn't stop hyperventilating. Got yelled at again because my body wouldn't stop shaking. Apparently me being sick was a real obstacle for them.

The warm blankets were nice though.

On May 18th I went to ER. I was almost unconscious from pain. I was lined up in the hallway and given pain meds which helped a little. I had to use the bathroom and the nurse told me where to go but I couldn't walk. She looked disgusted but brought a wheelchair. When I was finally placed in a room I had to go to the bathroom again. This "nurse" had a deathgrip on my arm. I was crying from the pain and she started screaming in my ear to stop screaming at her! Then she tightened her grip and started screaming at me that I was going to fall! She left bruises on my right arm! My family was furious and my sister in California called patient advocates. I was moved to a room far off in a corner where no one could hear me crying from the pain I was in. The next day I was drugged up hard and someone from administration came in to tell me that I owed $17K already. Thanks, I'll just write a check.... I told them I was uninsured when I came through ER. Their office called the hospital phone at 10pm one night to discuss my information! 10PM! I saw doctors for less than a minute when they came in. All they said was that I had a a severe UTI and pneumonia. I heard them in the doorway discussing me and heard the word "sepsis". I had to ASK them if I was septic and they gave me a stupid look and said yes. Shouldn't that have been part of the information they conveyed to me?! The next 8 days I DID have excellent care from nurses but on day 10 they sent me home with a bunch of unnecessary medications and withdrawal from dilaudid and morphine. I was only given 7 days of antibiotics even though I still had fever. I had to get a refill from an internet doctor. Now I'm getting bills from people who's names I don't even know; doctors who saw me in the hospital with cryptic abbreviations of service provided. I NEVER saw any doctor for more than a minute and they didn't answer any questions I had but they charged almost $200 for those seconds! I now have more PTSD from my experience at this hospital. I never heard anything about the abuse inflicted on me the first day. All this place cares about is collecting money and, over a month later, I'm still recovering from sepsis. I was treated better at Ben Taub! Do yourself a favor and never trust SugarLand Methodist to actually help you!

I went to Methodist Emergency Room twice on the 23rd for seizures and again on the 24th. Both times I was discharged and told my blood work looked fine. I’m now at the downtown hospital, where my condition became so serious that doctors had to place me in an induced coma to determine what was going on. They also found that my brain had been receiving low oxygen. Based on my experience, I would never trust this hospital again. I will also be looking into legal action..

My daughter had a swollen eye i originally brought her to an urgent care. I was to bring her to the ER it looked like an infection in her eye. So I came to this location. The nurse not a doctor examines her eye and said her eye was just irritated from her rubbing it and I needed to bring here to an eye doctor. The didn't give any antibiotics due to they claim it was no infection. I could not find an eye doctor available for same day to see a child. Remember my daughter eyes was red with a big puss ball on her eye lid. I brought her to another urgent care just for them to tell me she has severe pink eye it was so bad it started spreading to her other eye. Finally had got antibiotics for her. The who visit there was a waste of time and didn't help my child at all.
