I am beyond disappointed and honestly shaken by my experience at Methodist Missouri City. I came in because I was having serious trouble breathing and my chest was hurting—symptoms that are terrifying and should be treated with urgency and care. Instead, as I tried to explain what I was feeling, both the nurse and the doctor on duty were incredibly dismissive, as if what I was saying didn’t matter.
Things took an even worse turn when the nurse returned with Benadryl. Without any explanation or proper setup, he pushed 50cc directly into my IV line all at once, without even attaching an IV drip. The effect hit me immediately and intensely—it felt like my throat was closing. I started coughing and struggling to breathe even more. I was scared and trying to communicate that something was wrong, but instead of helping, the nurse just kept saying, “You’re okay, it will pass,” while I was clearly in distress and couldn’t breathe.
I felt completely ignored and unsafe. In that moment, I genuinely feared for my life. The only thing I could think to do was text my daughter and beg her to come help me.
We left as quickly as possible and went straight to MD Anderson in the Medical Center—where I should have gone in the first place. There, I was immediately taken seriously, given oxygen, and properly evaluated. That’s when I found out I had pneumonia.
The difference in care was night and day. What I experienced at Methodist Missouri City was not just poor service—it was dangerous. No patient should ever be made to feel dismissed or put at risk like that, especially when they come in with something as serious as breathing problems and chest pain. I would strongly urge others to think twice before trusting this facility with their care.

Brought my mom in whom I’d a heart patient ad well as dementia patient with diabetes. Brought her in because there is a baseball size lump in her chest that is hurting her. I expressed we do d not know about the lump and she just stated it started hurting yesterday. This man named Tom(nurse) in the ER stated ok if that’s what you brought her for, we can’t take any X-rays to see what it is ! Stated if it’s a bone we can see but anything else is we can’t do anything to help her! The way my face dropped was crazy! I stated we brought her to the emergency room because a lump in her chest is an urgency! He kept saying in so many ways there was no reason for her to be here!!! I have never felt more unwelcome in all my life!!! When a patient is brought in, no one wants to be at a hospital. Not the patient and not the people bringing them. It’s just has to be done!!! To add insult to injury, I’m told both Mr and my sister are not allowed in the back! However she gets back there with my mom and there are 2 families with more then 1 guest!!

Do not come here if you have an emergency and are pregnant. I was recommended by an urgent care in my town to go to a hospital due to needing an ultrasound because I’m pregnant and have been having lower abdominal pain along with other symptoms. After almost 5 hours of being in the er I never received an ultrasound. To begin we waited 1.5 hrs and the pain was getting worse, everyone that had came before us or around the same time had been seen so my fiancée asked the front desk what the estimated wait time would be since at this point my pain had gotten worse, they were dismissive an told him they didn’t have a Dr available and would help us when available. At 2.5 hrs, I was crying out of pain and went to the front office to once again ask what the wait time would be because I was not feeling well at all. They proceeded to tell me they would tell the nurse and that I would be the next one seen. We waited another 30-45 min and get “seen” by a Dr who then tells me I’ll get bloodwork, an iv for hydration and some pain medicine. Don’t get my wrong the Dr and nurses at this point were now very friendly and respectful but the point of us going to this hospital was because I was told by another urgent care that due to my symptoms I needed an ultrasound to make sure baby is ok. All in all we came in at 3 and didn’t leave until almost 8:40. We saw the lobby be cleared out twice before actually receiving care and now I’m still home with lower abdomen pain and medication for another different issue that they claimed “could cause stomach pain”

I usually don’t give reviews that are negative about anything unless it was really bad. My mom is 90 years old and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Baytown. My mother has mobility issues due Polio when she was a kid. She was in the ER from mid morning to around 5 yesterday. She was in severe pain and discomfort on her right side. I felt like the ER staff wasn’t even Luke warm to my mom. The service was a 1 at the least. They did a CT scan on her side and did a urinalysis on her. She was diagnosed with a severe bladder/kidney infection. I asked if they had a urologist on staff that could possibly see her in the ER because she has mobility issues. I was told that they didn’t have anyone on staff and that she’s not at emergent need to have this even though she has had bladder cancer in the past. I asked for a referral to a urologist and the doctor on call had no idea who to refer her too. I asked why they didn’t do bloodwork and it was because it wasn’t emergent status. I can tell you that taking my mom to this Hospital made me think twice about the healthcare they’re providing for people. We will be looking for a new facility since this happened yesterday. My dad retired from the railroad and he carries a separate policy on my mom for her healthcare. The treatment in this hospital is sub par and something needs to be done.

I recently had an unpleasant experience in the emergency room that left me feeling frustrated and concerned about the level of care provided. While I understand that ERs can be busy and stressful environments, the lack of concern and attentiveness I encountered was beyond disappointing.
From the beginning, the doctor was very rude and dismissive. Throughout the entire visit, the only guidance we were given was to “push fluids"(water), with no meaningful evaluation or care provided. Each time the doctor came in, she only asked how much water my daughter had drank and offered no further evaluation. When my daughter was finally able to urinate, the doctor immediately stated that we could be discharged. At that point, I expressed that I was not comfortable leaving without further testing, as I still did not have any answers about what had caused her prolonged lack of urine output or reassurance that everything was okay internally.
When the nurse brought our discharge papers, she asked if we were comfortable being discharged. I explained that I was not, since we still had no clear explanation for why my daughter had gone so long without urinating. The nurse said she would relay my concerns to the doctor and inform her that I was requesting additional testing. Despite this, it took another two hours before the doctor returned. When she did, she appeared increasingly frustrated that I continued to request further evaluation, repeatedly insisting that testing was unnecessary.Despite understanding how busy ERs can be, it was very concerning and frustrating to feel that there was little to no genuine concern for my daughter’s health. I repeatedly expressed concern about my daughter’s low urine output and asked if tests could be run to determine the underlying cause. Each time, I was told that she “just needed to push more liquids" (water) without any further investigation.
This was especially frustrating because, prior to visiting the ER, an urgent care doctor that same day had already evaluated my daughter and advised that she would likely need IV fluids and laboratory tests to ensure everything was functioning properly internally. When I relayed this information and advocated for those tests, the ER doctor continued to insist they were unnecessary. Even more concerning, I was told that if I wanted tests done, I needed to provide the specific names of the labs myself something that should clearly fall under the responsibility of the attending physician. The doctor seemed very annoyed and irritated when I would ask for more testing to be done.
After this visit, I took my daughter to her primary care physician, who informed me that regardless of how my daughter may have appeared or behaved at the time, she should have immediately been given IV fluids especially considering she had gone several hours without any urine output. Hearing this from another medical professional made the experience even more concerning.
I left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that my daughter did not receive appropriate medical attention. I don't ever leave reviews, but I was extremely disappointed in the care recieved at the Sugar land Methodist hospital.

My experience was horrible. People are sitting all along the walls in the ER. You don't have no privacy. The HIPPA law was not in forced. My second day going back to the ER Department. It was the same way congested I left the Methodist and went to Memorial Hermann. Admission was quick they took care of me and I was admitted quickly. Houston Methodist, I will not be going back.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! YOU COULD DIE WAITING.I bought my spouse for a severe headache. She was in severe pain and the front office lady was completely indifferent to her pain. She said we had to wait for the other patients to been seen. We left and went to memorial Hermann ER down the road and was immediately seen. The staff there recognized she was in severe pain and brought us in immediately.
Why do you people have an ER open for? Did you forget what emergency means?
Uncaring, unprofessional and have no training to prioritize patients. No wonder this ER has a 3 stars.
There was no parking either.

I am deeply disappointed and heartbroken by the level of care provided at this hospital. What should have been a place of healing instead became a place of negligence that resulted in an irreversible loss.
Had an elderly family member arrive by ambulance to the ER for severe stomach pain, who was RELEASED to go home. My family member went home in excruciating pain for two days before returning to the ER by ambulance again. After having to ASK the hospital admit them this time, we finally got the diagnosis of a perforated stomach ulcer (fatal), severe dehydration, kidney failure and bladder infection. She needed surgery to repair her perforated stomach ulcer which they assured us was an easy, laparoscopic procedure. She was given a sedative drug before general anesthesia for surgery and she went into cardiac arrest.
Being in total shock and not prepared, we had immediate family members out of town. The hospital was trying to take the body before her daughter could make it in from Dallas area to say goodbye.
I strongly urge this hospital to reevaluate its patient care standards. Accountability and improvement are necessary to ensure that no other family has to endure this kind of pain.
I cannot recommend this hospital based on my experience.

Worst experience ever. My husband was taken to the emergency room recently and the nurse stuck him over 5 times before he was able to draw my husbands blood. I was horrified to see the amount of blood on the sheets from my husbands veins that was mutilated by the inexperienced male nurse. My husband had had blood drawn many times by his primary care doctors nurse and had never experienced any problems. He has good veins for drawing blood. I pray the male nurse at Methodist did not destroy his veins or that complications do not result as a result of the inexperienced nurse. I am very concerned about the severe bruising they caused. I am posting pictures so everyone could see how bad it was.
