If I could give 0 stars I would! They two females working Sandra and whoever the ghost manager was were the most rude, unprofessional, manipulative liars I’ve ever met in my life! Downpayments were like yo-yo! And they don’t finance to people that are moving to Houston from San Antonio but a whole lady from JASPER! Was financed 🤦♀️😂😂! They’re a joke DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! By the end of the loooooooonnnnggg visit they know ALL YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS and you leave without a car! Very SUS

Rachel, we’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. Our in-house financing program is designed primarily for customers who live and work in the greater Houston area. While we occasionally make exceptions for customers outside our normal service area, those situations typically require additional qualifications, including a larger down payment. Financing decisions are based on multiple factors—not just one—and unfortunately we aren’t able to approve every application.

We understand that this wasn’t the outcome you were hoping for, and we wish you the very best in finding the right vehicle.

In regards to SalTeja post…. I told yall 3 of yall that the car would not be able to make that drive without causing more problems to it, the company itself is a waste of time i have every phone call and attempted phone call ive made to yall in regards of the vehicle since November recorded i even made a partial payment the day i told all 3 lady’s that the car is leaking coolant but due to them not communicating and leaving notes like they said they would i literally had to explain myself more than 3 times.
Now my question is if the car starts right up and didn’t hesitate then nothing is wrong with the alternator. Now with that being said how in the world are your mechanics not able to see that there’s a leak from the bottom to the bottom of the vehicle and not a leak from the top to bottom? And i don’t want to hear anything about the AC being on because i didn’t use the AC it was already cold outside.
You literally said once you see what’s wrong with the car you’ll call me and let me know the only person that called was Jennifer (mechanic shop) and said i would have to pay for the tow the alternator parts and labor on top of the car note i stop paying for now what sense does that make after hearing that I sent you (Domenica) email after email call after call and it was always oh she just left or she on vacation the lies continue.
Whoever decided to purchase the 2018 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid don’t do it your going to be wasting your time and money not to mention I’ve already contacted the rim company because there is a tracking device in the tires and I’ve already told them to pick the rims up when they want to. Also be prepared to fix something else on the vehicle because it would hesitate to accelerate at certain points.
I had this vehicle for the last 2 years and with the water pump being discontinued you will have a problem.

We need to clarify the facts, as this review contains multiple inaccuracies.

The vehicle was driven for approximately two years. When you later contacted us stating the vehicle had a coolant issue and that your personal assessment was that it could not be driven, you were asked to bring the vehicle in so it could be properly diagnosed. That request was declined.

Partial payments do not satisfy the contractual obligation, and full payments were ultimately stopped. As a result, the vehicle was repossessed due to nonpayment, not due to mechanical concerns.

After repossession, our technicians inspected the vehicle and determined the issue was not a water pump, but the alternator. While the water pump for this model is discontinued, it was never the cause of the vehicle’s problem. Had the vehicle been brought in when requested, this could have been accurately diagnosed much earlier.

At no point did we refuse communication or service. We cannot diagnose or repair a vehicle that is not made available to us.

The warranty provided at purchase was 3 months / 3,000 miles, not a lifetime warranty, and the vehicle was well outside that coverage period.

We stand by our process, our documentation, and the facts surrounding this account.

— King of Cars Management

Bought a car from here 1st week of November. It literally would die while driving on the freeway and actually almost killed me and my young children. Took it in so they could fix it and took them over a week and I went broke paying for Ubers to and from work during that time plus there was a small deductible to be paid to have them fix the car I just got from them. I pick my car up only for it to do the same exact issue and dying WHILE DRIVING I mean complete power loss can’t even move the steering wheel even if you’re going 70 mph. I paid 1500 down, then tax title and license, all my Ubers, their deductible while still being asked to make my regular payments on a car that was never fixed. My last payment returned due to insufficient funds which yes is my fault but buying a car from king of cars has been a true MONEY NUGHTMARE. I’ve spent thousands trying to get into this car, and to keep it and once my payment was returned the picked it up. I do not recommend. My car KBB value is listed at 3500 yet they listed it for like 15k lol I’m a single mother and nurse and besides this car taking up all of my money it genuinely almost killed me and my family. I even called my mom and said if I wreck I need you to know why just in case something happened.
EDIT: TO MANAGEMENT THAT IS A LIE I REPORTED THAT IT WAS NOT FIXED TO THE LADY WHO MANAGES THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I recorded my own calls and made a complaint to the BBB. I also wrote in my original review that the payment was returned bc I’m an honest person. It was only one pay with my next one only becoming recently due. Continuing to lie is not necessary. The service dept manager said I would have to bring the car back in leave it for a week and yall have already taken all my money.

Renee, we’re sorry to hear you feel this way and we take all safety concerns seriously.

For clarity, the vehicle was not repossessed due to mechanical issues or because of any complaint or review. It was repossessed after a payment was returned and the account became several payments past due, in accordance with the contract terms.

We also want to note that after the vehicle was inspected and repaired under warranty at no charge, we did not receive any further reports of problems or concerns, nor was any review posted, until after the repossession occurred.

We did not deny service at any point and would have gladly re-inspected the vehicle had we been contacted.

We understand financial and vehicle issues can be stressful, and we wish you the best moving forward.

— King of Cars Management

King of cars is a huge money grab scam, we purchased our car the 2018 lacrosse Buick in march of 2024 and it was problem after problem for the past 2 years until it was finally picked up from refusing to continue to put money into a car that wouldn’t move and had a part that needed fixed that was discontinued. From the very first month of having the car the battery had issues where it caused the check engine light to come on, we replaced the battery with our own money, we had to literally struggle getting into the trunk because the latch on the inside was broken but once the car cut off from the battery we were unable to get into the trunk unless going through the backseat that was clearly already damaged hiding under the middle seat compartment. Once the battery was fixed from our own dime the car was up back and running but the check engine light was still on so we took it to a shop and they had to replace the spark plugs, once again money that we’ve paid out of our own pockets on top of still making the biweekly payments. Towards the end of last year we were forced to take Ubers back and forth to and from work, doctor’s appointments, stores which also caused us to miss work or said appointments etc from the water pump breaking which we had two personal mechanics look at and they both came up with the same diagnosis of the problem and when we contacted them they acted like they were willing to work with us and give us time to find the part on our own which every place we checked the part was discontinued and no used part replacement for it, even the mechanic was searching for a part that didn’t exist anymore, she admitted herself it would have to be rebuilt/replaced from a similar type of car. They will make it as if it was taken due to missed payments which we will also agree we stopped making said payments because they were supposed to take the car and try to find a solution and contact us back in regards to paying the missed payments and continue the payment plan or give us the option to swap out cars if they could not fix the issue. Since they have picked up the car we have not heard anything back, a false email was provided for us to send the receipts and proof of what we’ve paid on the car since purchasing it and the letters stating that the part was discontinued. The person that we were supposed to be working with will always be at another location or just left the office/ on vacation everytime we called and never got back to us about the car. Now they’ve reposted the car with the remodifications that we spent our money on including the rims you see now, that unfortunately is still coming out of our pockets because we no longer had the original tires, our plan was to keep the car once they fixed it and haven’t heard anything back from them since. Communication lacks and their statements about working with their clients is false unless you’re still putting money into their business whether the vehicle runs or not. I highly do not recommend. Whoever purchases this vehicle next good luck because once it’s down and needs repairs be ready to deal with no communication or false information on what’s wrong with the vehicle.

We take feedback seriously, but we must correct several inaccurate statements in this review.

When you contacted us about the vehicle, you advised that your personal mechanic diagnosed it as needing a water pump. You were asked multiple times to bring the vehicle to us so our service department could properly inspect and assist you. You declined to do so.

You then stopped making payments on the account. As a result, the vehicle was repossessed in accordance with the contract.

After repossession, our technicians inspected the vehicle and determined that the issue was not the water pump, but the alternator. While the water pump for this model is discontinued, it was never the cause of the vehicle’s problem. Had the vehicle been brought to us when requested, this could have been diagnosed and addressed much earlier.

The vehicle was driven for nearly two years prior without these issues being reported to us, and the warranty provided at purchase was a 3-month / 3,000-mile powertrain warranty, not a lifetime warranty.

We never refused communication or assistance and would have gladly helped had the vehicle been made available for inspection.

We understand vehicle repairs and financial situations can be stressful, but we stand by the facts and the efforts made to assist.

— King of Cars Management

I just bought a 2010 ford raptor from them got it on Wednesday broke down today won’t start. It will turn over but won’t start. Under warranty but I have to pay $675 for the tow from Waco to Houston for them to fix it. So much for what is suppose to be a decent car company. Nope just another place to sell you something that looks nice but is actually junk. I’m going to continue to pay this truck off. It is a very nice truck. But trust me don’t fall for the polished turd trick. Building is nice people are nice vehicles are shit though. Thanks for a headache.

Hi Chris,

We’re very sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your truck. We completely understand how frustrating it is to have an issue so soon after purchase.

As you mentioned, your vehicle is covered under warranty, and we are more than willing to repair it for you. However, in order to diagnose and complete the repair, we need to have the truck here at our service center in Pasadena. Since the breakdown happened in Waco, the towing company quoted $675 to bring the vehicle back to us — unfortunately, this cost is outside of what the warranty covers.

We want to get you back on the road as quickly as possible and are ready to begin repairs as soon as we receive the vehicle. Please give us a call so we can discuss the best way to get the truck here and resolved for you.

Thank you,

I had a terrible experience at King of Cars, and I feel it’s important to share my story to warn others.
I came in to test drive a white Mercedes GLA 250 that looked great online — but the moment I sat inside, I could tell they had only shown the “nice” parts in the photos. The steering wheel was worn, and many of the buttons were discolored and faded from heavy use.
Things got even worse during the test drive — the car STOPPED on me twice! I was shocked. I immediately informed Sandra, but she acted completely uninterested, as if it wasn’t a big deal.
Still trying to find something decent, I decided to test drive a red Nissan Murano. As soon as the car hit 20 miles per hour, it started SHAKING violently. At that point, I knew I had to walk away.
I want to warn anyone considering this dealership: be VERY careful. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut. I’m so thankful I didn’t give Sandra my down payment — I would’ve regretted that decision for a very long time.
Car shopping is stressful enough — the last thing anyone needs is to deal with shady or careless service. Do your research and go somewhere that values honesty and safety.

Hi Darcyle,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I want to sincerely apologize that your visit didn’t meet your expectations. That’s never the experience we want for our customers, and your feedback is very important to us.

Regarding the white Mercedes GLA 250, we appreciate you pointing out your concerns. That vehicle is equipped with Mercedes’ ECO Start/Stop system, which automatically turns the engine off at stops and restarts it when the brake is released — it can feel unusual if you’re not familiar with the feature, but it is functioning as designed. As for the worn steering wheel and button discoloration, that type of cosmetic wear is not uncommon for a vehicle that is nearly 10 years old. However, we do our best to display our vehicles honestly, and your comments will help us improve how we present our inventory.

With the red Nissan Murano, I want to personally thank you for bringing the vibration issue to our attention. We did notice the same concern during a follow-up test and are currently having the vehicle inspected and repaired. It could be related to a tire balance, wheel alignment, or transmission issue — either way, we’re committed to getting it resolved before it’s sold.

Please know that every vehicle we sell goes through a rigorous 89-point inspection, and we include a free 3-month/3,000-mile powertrain warranty for added peace of mind. These are used vehicles, and although we take many steps to ensure reliability, mechanical issues can occasionally arise — and we stand behind our customers when they do.

We’ve been in business for over 19 years and have built lasting relationships with many repeat customers who value the way we do business. I’m truly sorry that you didn’t have a world-class experience with us — we’re taking your feedback seriously and using it to get better.

If you’re open to discussing this further, I’d love the opportunity to speak with you directly. You can reach me at 713-472-5464 ext. 812 or [email protected].

Sincerely,
Domenica Chapa
General Manager, King of Cars
