I have to say after reading the reviews I debated keeping my surgery appointment. I decided to pray and trust the team of healthcare professionals: I was very impressed with everything and everyone! Registration was smooth, young lady was kind and empathetic. Shout out to April, Julie and all the clinical staff that tended to me. And the nurse that had to do my IV, thank you as well! I cannot express enough gratitude to Dr. Cusick! In all my 49 years on this earth I have not met many doctors on her level! Clinically and professionally she is a rockstar in my book!

Worst ER/hospital ever! No communication! The information desk attendant acted like I was a bother when i asked him about my husband after waiting an hour. And there were only 2 other people in there at the time. Waited 3 hours to get him moved to a room after being told they were on their way. One nurse also confused my husband for another patient and tried to give him drugs he didn’t need. And these are just the highlights! I wouldn’t bring my trash to the this hospital! Oh and the room in the emergency room was filthy!

Staff was nice. They did laugh and talk amongst themselves, but I dont see the issue as long as they're getti.g their job done. Triage nurses and intake staff were polite and considerate. Security was stern, but sweet. The ultrasound technician was very kind and professional. The doctor was so personable and knowledgeable, reassuring me while going over the test results. The reason I cant give at least 3 stars is because the wait in the ER was so uncomfortable!

This ER is FILTHY!!! I got stared at for wiping down any seat I chose or any door handle I touched. If you weren't sick when you arrived, you might be when you leave. I know hospitals are for the sick, but why so nasty?! Trash all over the floors. Used bedding, masks, cups, and barf bags in the seats and under them. A bike with a flat tire next to a pile of soiled sheets....This can't be up to code. I'm pregnant and contemplating leaving to drive 15 minutes further. This is truly disgusting.

An Unforgettable Experience with the Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kirby Glen and Retina Consultants of Texas Teams

I recently underwent eye surgery at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kirby Glen to have my retina reattached—a first for me—and I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and professional team to guide me through this process. From start to finish, every single person involved made me feel calm, informed, and confident.

Before the surgery, I worked with Antonia Norris, my Surgery Coordinator from Retina Consultants of Texas. She was absolutely incredible in preparing me for this journey. From explaining the process in detail to making sure everything was scheduled seamlessly, Antonia made what could have been an overwhelming experience so smooth and manageable. I can't thank her enough for her thoroughness, kindness, and guidance. The entire staff at Retina Consultants of Texas was equally supportive and professional.

While MD Kenneth Fan was originally scheduled to perform my surgery, a last-minute change led to Dr. Patrick Staropoli stepping in. Dr. Staropoli was nothing short of phenomenal. His skill, confidence, and calm demeanor reassured me that I was in the best hands. During the procedure, I felt no fear or anxiety thanks to his expertise and the incredible operating room team. After the surgery, MD Kenneth Fan continued to be a vital part of my care during follow-up visits, ensuring my recovery was on track and prescribing everything I needed for post-operative care. Both doctors were instrumental in my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for their dedication and care.

I also want to personally thank the outstanding team at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kirby Glen:

Ms. Tina (Receptionist): Your welcoming smile and professionalism put me at ease the moment I arrived.

Ms. Lauren (Pre-Op Nurse): Your patience, attentiveness, and care made me feel safe and prepared.

Ms. Chelsea (OR Nurse): Your calming presence in the operating room made the experience so much smoother.

Ms. Nikki and Ms. April (Surgical Techs): Your precision and behind-the-scenes expertise ensured everything went perfectly.

Dr. Pulido (Anesthesiologist): Your clear explanations and reassuring approach made me feel confident going into surgery.

Mr. Royce (CRNA): Your careful monitoring during the procedure gave me peace of mind throughout.

Yushema and Savonya (PACU Nurses): Your kindness and attentiveness post-surgery made my recovery process smooth and stress-free.

Heather (Check-Up Nurse): Heather deserves special recognition for her incredible voice and confidence. She spoke with such assurance and positivity that it truly reinforced my decision to go with this team. Her ability to explain the next steps while making me feel valued and cared for was unmatched. Heather, you went above and beyond, and I am so grateful for your support!

Every single person on this team played a vital role in my care, and their dedication, compassion, and professionalism truly stood out. They turned what I thought would be a nerve-wracking experience into one I will forever remember with gratitude.

Thank you to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kirby Glen and Retina Consultants of Texas for taking such great care of me during this important time. I highly recommend both teams to anyone seeking not only medical expertise but also true patient care.

I went in for severe back pain that radiated to my lower abdomen. I thought it was kidney stones because that is what they felt like in the past. We waited in the room for 45 minutes before a doctor came in. Even the nurse came in at 45 minutes and said the doctor hasn't come in yet? I said no. So he then decided to put an IV in (no fluids). The doctor comes in and checks a few things and taps on me and says did you need something for the pain? I said that would be helpful. He said I guess I can give you some morphine (becauase I had taken ibuprofen already) then walks out. Never says he's going to order test or explains anything to me. The nurse came back to administer the morphine and zofran and gives me a blanket. Then someone shows up with a wheel chair to take me for a CT scan. (still never told I was getting one). The radiology tech was AWESOME! We did the test, it was quick, got me back to my room and hooked back up and brought me a pillow. He said it will be about an hour for results. I have also asked for water twice during this time and nothing. An hour and a half later my husband walks out into the hallway. Then all of a sudden the doctor comes in with results. (They totally forgot about us). I have kidney stones but it's not causing my pain. So he said I guess it's muscular and said he is going to discharge me. I said but I am still in a lot of pain. (the morphine just took the edge off the pain). He prescribed me over the counter Tylenol and lidocaine patches and was reluctant to even give me a muscle relaxer. I was livid. I felt like they were treating me like I was just looking for drugs. I was clearly in pain when I was there because my blood pressure was really high and only went down a little after the morphine. Hell.....they couldn't even give me fluids. I'm sure I was dehydrated too. So I left with no answers, still in excruciating pain, over the counter Tylenol that doesn't touch the pain, and a muscle relaxer that didn't work either. Worst experience. They ladies at the check in were great. Radiology tech, great! Nurse was ok and doctor was very uninformative and not friendly and seemed irritated when I said I was frustrated. They never took a medical history or asked what medications I was on. I really expected better than this.

Was scheduled to be in at 7am. Arrived on time and put into a room at 7:45... the nurse strapped me up, inserted the iv and left. No one checked up on me the entire time between when the nurse left and my surgery. I sat there for almost FOUR HOURS with no updates, no check ins. I had to flag someone down to use the restrooms. Also the guy next to me had MRSA and I could hear the entire conversation between the nurses, the anesthesiologist and the patient. Would avoid this place if necessary.

The medical staff were good. The billing was not. The facility's billing input the wrong CPT code for the procedure I had and billed for a surgery on the incorrect body part. This procedure occurred in 2023, and I still have been unable to get their billing department to fix their mistake.

Went to the ER for first time for chest discomfort and was seen promptly by nurse and taken back to a room. The doctor quickly arrived and ECG and CXR and bloodwork performed right away. Thankfully all was fine and went home after about an hour and half. Excellent care by all.

Worst hospital I have ever been to. I arrived to a totally empty front of the hospital and proceed to wait 2 and a half hours with nobody else going in or going out. The staff is totally rude and cold. I am here because I had surgery at Memorial Hermann yesterday under my arm I am leaking fluid from my arm and the stich job is horrible. They can at least show some understanding or maybe a little empathy. Cold as ice.

For one, the nurses that would come in to mess with my iv wouldn't wash their hands or put on gloves, they lost my baby's footprint, it's so understaffed it's not funny. My doctor that did my birth is absolutely amazing, I'm just very mad at the memorial staff for their negligence
