I have always had a good experience at this location until this past Tuesday March 18,2025. I took my wife she had bad fever, stomach pain, chills, feeling fatigue and dehydrated. She got tested and was told she had an UTI and nothing else and my wife also mentioned that she felt dehydrated and if she could get an IV started to get some hydration, but the Dr ( can not remember her name) was rushing to get us out since they needed rooms. She did get an IV ordered and infront of us told the nurse “ I got an IV ordered for her, I guess the other people in the lobby will have to wait since she decided she wanted to get an IV”. 4 days later we are in a different hospital and to find out that she has a Gallbladder infection and gallbladder stones and she needs surgery to remove her gallbladder. I just wished the Dr. at Patients ER could have been more understanding and did a bit more testing instead of rushing to try and get us out.

I have had the privilege of receiving care at Patients and have consistently found it to be one of the most outstanding emergency rooms I have encountered. However, during a recent visit, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of diligence and compassion exhibited by a particular physician. Unfortunately, I do not recall her name, but she is a middle-aged, slim, Caucasian female with a seemingly bitter demeanor and a noticeable lack of empathy toward her patients.

As someone with Crohn’s disease who has experienced numerous severe and life-threatening flare-ups, I am well aware of what my body requires and the typical recommendations of my gastroenterologist. When I advocated against this physician’s suggested course of treatment, she became visibly frustrated and maintained this attitude throughout my entire visit. This experience was not reflective of the high standard of care I have come to expect from Patients, and unfortunately, it was not an isolated incident.

My younger sister recently sought emergency care for severe abdominal pain but was initially turned away due to her inability to pay the upfront fee, as she does not have health insurance. Her pain worsened, and she was only able to return once she had secured a form of payment. Despite her visible distress—crying and writhing in excruciating pain—she was denied pain medication under the assumption that her symptoms were cannabis-induced. She was ultimately sent home without adequate treatment.

The following morning, as her pain persisted, I personally called to request a prescription for some form of relief. However, I was informed that the attending physician was not in the office that morning and was subsequently denied assistance. I have previously been prescribed medication after leaving the facility, so this response was particularly concerning. After extensive discussion with a nurse, she was finally able to secure a prescription—though only for nausea medication. The nurse was kind and understanding, in stark contrast to the physician who had treated my sister.

As my sister’s condition deteriorated, we were informed that the only way she could receive treatment was by returning to the ER and once again paying a substantial fee. Given that she is uninsured, this posed a significant financial burden. Furthermore, as she was in severe distress and unable to advocate for herself, and my mother does not speak English, I was once again forced to communicate on her behalf through her nurse. The nurse displayed great empathy and professionalism, but it required persistent pleading before my sister was provided with any form of pain relief. Ultimately, she was discharged with only nausea medication and dicyclomine for spasms—yet no medication to alleviate her severe pain.

Regrettably, my sister’s condition worsened over the following weeks. Last night, she was readmitted to the ER and diagnosed with a severe kidney infection that has now spread to her back and other areas of her body. This outcome could have been entirely avoided had the initial physician conducted the necessary testing and taken her symptoms seriously. Due to this physician’s negligence and poor judgment, my sister now requires hospitalization to receive proper medical treatment.

I do want to add that her physician last night was nothing short of amazing. He showed every ounce of empathy and did everything in his ability to make sure my sister was comfortable and got a proper diagnosis.

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of appropriate care provided in these instances. While I have great respect for the facility as a whole, this experience highlights a serious concern regarding the quality of care and medical decision-making by certain providers. I sincerely hope that steps are taken to address these issues to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

My husband and I have been here plenty of times and the service was awesome, however this last time I was coming to get treated for a virus. We waited in the waiting room for over two hours. Others that came in were taken back immediately once signed in. My husband went to ask what was going on and he was told by the front desk ladies “our issue isn’t an emergency like others and there was no room for me to be treated” we wanted to leave but once we started to get up someone called us back finally and took me to do vitals and told me to wait in the hallways on this bed. They treated me in the hallway fully exposed.
The doctor was nice but they only gave me tons of meds to shut me up instead of giving me and IV for fluids etc.
Would not come back here again!

I believed before this visit that they exhibited excellent customer service. The front desk did excellent as usual. I brought my daughter a young black woman here and my oh my did that change my perception! Rough and dismissive were the male nurse. Very loud and brute was the Ex ray tech. Verses when I brought my husband here. The male nurse who we later got today was and is excellent. His name starts with a M. The doctor was fantastic in both visits. Good luck getting to them!
