My child desperately needed help for mental health issues. I thought this place would be a game changer for him, but instead caused him to spiral even further into depression and paranoia. Spoiler alert: Do NOT waste your money.

The place is full of mold and mildew, and it is far closer to a prison than a hospital. The head nurse is on a major power trip, and yells at family and colleagues in front of others. The rules for visitation are so petty that after driving 1.5 hours to see my kid on two separate occasions, they still refused to let me see him. They have no respect for transgender rights, refused to call him by his preferred name, and forced my kid to stay in the hallway for the first day cause they couldn’t decide if he was a boy or a girl, and therefore refused to give him a room. I wouldn’t send an animal here, let alone a person.

My Daughter has just completed her voulentary 72 hour assessment period. She checked in due to depression over the suicide of her sister. She is non suicidal and non homocidal and she is intelligent lucid and non delusional. Tonight after being there 3 days she finally spoke to her dr who is also the cmo of the facility only to be manipulated into rescinding her early release letter and to be told that he’s going to revoke her voluntary status and keep her there because she complained about not being given counseling or an assessment of her mental state. They have been treating her based on a four year old record from another facility without even talking to her.
This dr is saying he’s going to say she’s suicidal because she causes trouble by demanding to leave and seek care elsewhere. A SA survivor, she’s been verbally assaulted by male patients. Then told to be quiet when she reported the incidents.
She’s terrified to be there. They medicated without assessment. Gave her seizure meds when her seizure disorder only requires rescue meds,
They gave her 6 meds in all, until she was so doped up she couldn’t speak or stand.
I’m going there in the morning and contacting the Conroe shrriffsy department in assisting me in taking my daughter home. At least Two other families have obtained legal help for their daughters as well. I will be doing the same as well as notifying local news media if the atrocious criminal behavior of the staff and admin of Voyages behavioral health.
Dr Roberto Gonzales will not take nor return my calls as of now. Tomorrow I find out if the sherries department and a top rated legal team can get his attention .
She needed help processing her grief, and instead she’s being labeled suicidal and having her rights and her freedom taken away.

A real-life example of the movie "I Care A Lot." This is not a place of healing but of control. Zero compassion, all about confinement. Felt like a jail - my loved one was stripped of their autonomy and cut off from the world. All about $$$. Patients for them are subjects, not humans.

Do not go here. Do not let other facilities transfer anyone to this place. I share these details to warn others: it is an absolute nightmare.

PLEASE DO NOT take your loved one to this facility. Looks pretty, but they are absolutely horrible. I took that chance even after reading the bad reviews.

They absolutely don't care for their patients. Only open to collect that money. Horrible staff, no communication skills, people skills or any skills for that matter.

Please do the research and find a different facility for your loved one that needs all the help they can get.

May God guide you into making better choices than this place.

I am extremely enraged with the level of service I received at this facility. The staff acted unprofessionally, and their behavior escalated to screaming when I pointed out that I was never provided with any essential information. Furthermore, my request to speak with a director was outright denied. This lack of communication and disregard for basic professional conduct is unacceptable. I have reported this to the state and the board. No amount of money can ever make me voluntarily admit myself or any of my family members here. I have also filed a lawsuit against this facility.

This place is horrible, it is like a prison. My husband went voluntarily to get some help and the facility did not communicated with me on his progress the 10 days he was there. When you try to leave a message the nurses transfer you to the area and then they hang up instead of handing the patient the phone. It is dirty inside, while he was sleeping an ant crawl inside his ear, super gross. He behave and even help other patients there, it is sad they do not take it into consideration. When I took him out of there, one nurse said he needed to fill out an AMA and then a few days later they said no need, so when I went in to discharge him, they made me wait and did not wanted me to take him, I told them he had rights and then the nurse rudely basically kick him out of there with no discharge papers or medication. I have filled a complaint with the Texas board. This is not a facility that I would ever take my love one to. Do better for your patients Voyager, they are humans and need respect from your staff.

One of the worst hospitals I have been in. I have been in over 200 in my lifetime. The bathrooms and showers have mold as well as the toilets. The same dirty bandage was in my shower all week.

Dr. Emmanuel was the best thing about the hospital. He listens, is compassionate, and really cares about his patients. He wants to see them get better.

When seeking a clear answer expect to be passed around like a hot potato. No one seems to have any answers. So they lie and are reflective in their answers. If they would tell the truth and give a straight answer, a lot of patients would be happier and more compliant. As well as get proper care.

I felt invisible most days. David a nurse on the 300 unit, both 4/2/25 and 4/3/25, was on his phone and could care less about any questions you asked him. He even put off PRNs until it was convenient for him.

The billing estimates, which they press for them to be paid were extremely off. I have BCBS and Voyages’ are a preferred provider for mental health and rehab. I offered my insurance card at intake. I as told $2,238.08. After calling my insurance company, the total was only $350 for unlimited days for psych or rehab. They would have known if they called the number on my card.

I have food allergies. I told them for 7 days, I still got tomatoes and oatmeal. Had I been a vegetarian. At least they seemed to get their meals right.

There were fire code violations that can cause back drafts. Holes in the doors, and missing door tags.

So think of another place to get your treatment. That is my suggestion. Having had years of experience in various hospitals.

The weekend on 3/29/25 and 3/30/25 was the true therapy we had with the therapist that weekend.

I hope you find the best treatment at another facility.

Warning-AVOID this facility! Lack of updates on condition of family member and communication from staff for even basic concerns. They do not return calls. They repeatedly forget to pass along messages from family to patient. They clearly do not medicate or comfort the patients appropriately. Very disgusted by the poor care of patients and horrible customer service.***Update** after discharge on 2/3/25 we were told that prescriptions were called into the pharmacy, but the pharmacy never received them. I've been in the medical field myself for over 30 years and have never seen such mismanagement and disorganization in my life. My family member said there was one nice nurse that she encountered. So thank you to that one person that made that good impression on her.

Loved one was assaulted by another patient within two hours of being admitted. They did notify me. When I asked for the loved one to be released to my care (they were voluntarily admitted), they initially refused. Took over five and a half hours to get my loved one released to my care even though their own policy says they are not allowed to keep someone longer than 4 hours past their request to leave (if a voluntarry admittance). Got a revolving door of employees (when I could get them to talk to me) who often seemed like they had no idea what was going on. Not one aspect of our interaction with this place felt professional or proper.
