DESPICABLE & DEPLORABLE!!!! PLEASE GO TO UTMB INSTEAD!!!!!
I'll just start off by repeating what so many other former patients who had the extreme & utter displeasure of having the horrid experience of being "treated" here: if I could give less than one star, I would!! All of the staff--especially the nurses--act extremely annoyed with you no matter what you ask of them & complain about very simple, basic things their job entails, such as helping you to the restroom or bringing you meds. Any & all requests you make to them--no matter how polite you are --are met with frustrated sighing, eye-rolling and acting like you're putting them out so much just by asking them to perform and assist you with the most basic of tasks.
ALL the nurses care about is sitting at their nurse's station and chatting ALL DAY LONG, and God forbid you interrupt about five minutes of their conversation. And talk about lazy!!!!; they absolutely can't seem to unglue their rear ends from those nurse's station chairs. You'd think they'd realize that if they love chatting with each other so darn much, they could at least set aside their girl time outside of work to do all their chatting. They're all far worse than high school girls who want to just chitchat and socialize with each other.
The people on this staff are receiving way too high of a paycheck to be acting in such a rude, uncaring, incompassionate, unprofessional & overall demeaning manner towards us, the patients--who are obviously the most important ones!! Every single staff member who is employed here is clearly in it just for the paycheck because they certainly aren't in it to help us or to help us alleviate our pain/ailments/stress/discomfort.
If you're in any kind of pain whatsoever, you'll be extremely fortunate to receive even one Tylenol or Ibpropen. And I'm begging you with all that's holy that if you're in excruciating pain, *do NOT* come here looking for some relief from meds, because they simply will not give you anything. One of the many, MANY issues I have with this place is that they treat every single patient as if we're raging junkies who are all just looking to get a "fix", versus being desperate to alleviate & soothe our physical pain/symptoms in any way humanly possible. The first thing they do is have you pee in a cup for a drug screening, and even if you're only taking presbribed meds by a doctor, if it's what they consider to be a high dose, you'll be written off as a drug seeker who misuses & overtakes medications.
The doctors are sorely lacking any real knowledge about anything. Misdiagnoses run rampant at this "establishment". And all your have to do is look at their ages, with most of them being around only 30 or so. You can literally find out more about your condition from typing certain things into Google A.I. than by asking them anything. And just like the nurses, the doctors are extremely devoid of any compassion or empathy towards those who are ill and/or in a lot of pain.
Furthermore, the rooms are relatively crappy and small. Additionally, they have small, cheap tv's that desperately need replacing because the colors are starting to turn from old age, with very limited basic cable. The food is borderline-terrible & is barely lukewarm once it's been delivered to you. The ER rooms are insanely hot & stifling; unfortunately you don't have the ability to control the temperature. When I was there, it was 76 degrees, which is borderline-boiling for me! They could at least give the option that would allow each ER room temperature to be controlled by the patient who's placed in there.
Methodist Clear Lake is beyond any & all hope for improvement, in my opinion, and despite all of their consistently negative, terrible reviews, just nothing seems like anything will ever be done to remedy that.
I'm begging you to please spare yourselves of what's an easily avoidable unpleasant situation. UTMB is infinitely BETTER, has nurses & doctors who treat you with dignity, respect, compassion, and understanding.

Worst patient care in the ER. The leave you on the waiting area with an iv and fluids they don’t even check on you. My iv fluids were done and told two er nurse and didnt even do anything. Also was given morphine and placed in the waiting area. I also passed out on a chair .. No good for patient safety. Also was discharged and did not do a full work out they basically send me home and didnt find a cause of my problem. Worst Patient care !

Was going to put only 1 star but gave an extra star because of the few staff here that are amazing. The rest have very calloused behaviors and poor bedside manner. I get it's just a job to some of you but these are peoples loved ones and hearing/seeing the mistreatment makes an already tuff situation worse. Be a better person or find another job, it's that simple.

We are extremely grateful to Dr. Merlyn Thomas and Nurse Tosin for the exceptional care they provided to my wife throughout her medical condition and delivery. Dr. Merlyn Thomas was knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making us feel confident and supported at every step. Nurse Tosin was equally outstanding and always checking in to ensure my wife’s comfort and well-being.
The delivery experience itself was handled with true professionalism and top-notch service.
I do want to note that one of the baby nurse was rude and did not handle the baby as gently which was disappointing. She literally brushed the thermometer against my baby cheek. However, this was a very small exception.
Overall, we are very thankful for the excellent medical care and support we received and would highly recommend Dr. Merlyn Thomas for her dedication and professionalism.
Five stars for Merlyn thomas and Tosin!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate the four-star review. - Houston Methodist
Three family members came to pick up someone and we were chastised for coming through the wrong door then hospital cop kicked two of us out while we waited for a quick cut glue!
Rude, unprofessional and aggressive!!!! Two nurses were in the room and it would have been sooooo easy to ask any of us to wait in the lobby for any explained reason without calling the “mall cop”. Empathy, consideration and professionalism should be the norm!
Take your emergency healthcare to South Shore ER!!!!! Fast, courteous service with no extra cost for unnecessary services!

I had the worst experience in the er on Thursday 12/18. I arrived at Methodist via ambulance. I was in excruciating pain. I didn't have pants, shoes, or my glasses because I was so out of it I didn't think to tell ems staff I needed those things. I laid in a bed in hallway F right by the exit doors for hours waiting on a scan. I kept telling them my pain level was 9 and 10. It hurt to breathe and my 02 kept decreasing. The nurse gave me a small dose of morphine, but when it wore off she couldn't offer me anything else. She asked if I wanted a heating pad, I said 'yes' but she never brought it. When I finally got my scan done, they realized I had a hernia was completely compacted. They then rushed me to the OR for emergency surgery at 1 am. I got to the er around 6pm on Thursday. I laid there in the hallway and listened to the nurses discuss the holiday party and Christmas presents. I begged people that walked by for ibuprofen or anything to stop the pain. They treated me like I was an addict looking for a fix. It shouldn't have taken so long to get a scan with my pain level. I wasn't afforded privacy, dignity, or consideration on one of the worst days of my life. The nurse that worked on me rolled her eyes several times when I complained about the pain. She was more worried about the blanket falling off me because I only had underwear on.

Very caring and helpful. Would go back if necessary and recommend them
Very impressed about how they handled a very busy packed emergency room. There could not have been enough beds for all of the sick people but, regardless, all were treated. We all had to sit in the lobbies with I v drips and as much as I'd like to have had a bed it would have been a waste if others needed it more than me. I just needed a particular treatment and to be monitored and others too. One person and two children hat came from a fire and I did think she needed a room with her 2 children before anyone else and she got her room within an hour but was stable and treated. It could not be helped. I was treated better and more respect and dignity than any hospitals that were not busy, I WAS NOT PUT IN AROOM AND IGNORED. one lady was in pain and a nurse came out and held her hand and tried to comfort her while administering a pain med. I was there 6 hours but triage was immediate and 1st treatment was within the first hour. I'd say Excellent.
Words cannot express the gratitude and thankfulness I have for this hospital. The doctors, nurses, staff, cleaning people are ALL EXTRAORDINARY! They are caring, attentive, gentle, personable and we felt a devotion they have for their patient's health.
In short, my partner was in this hospital for a week and a half. The nurses did an amazing job at making sure my loved one was taken care of. From the meds, the health exercises, rehabilators, everything about this hospital spoke volumes about the quality care they deliver. They are true angels and though we were stressed, concerned and afraid of what we were facing, they DID EVERYTHING they were suppose to in getting my partner back on his feet and back home.
I want to give a special shoutout to Dr. Sangdhini, Dr. English, Dr. Mendoza, (Nurses) Lauren J., Grace, Betty, John, Amelia, Jessica 1 and 2, Elyne, Kenia, Nadia, Bulova, Mildregd. (Respirator Mirna, Nelly, Juan, Theresa) PT Mobilizer Ms Damaris!, I know I am leaving a few people out but if you can send our love and gratefulness to all who looked after 7451,7480 and 7471, Please Do!
I was headed to Memorial and I thought was going there but the Lord led us where we needed to be. The statue in the Lobby says it all.
Thank You for the bottom of our hearts, Please continue doing what you and leading medicine!
Maria Vega (Mary) from the ER is extremely unprofessional and careless. She doesn’t care what people are suffering from, she just check in people without verifying if the information is correct and walks off. Do not recommend this place with this kind of people working here.
