LIU promised you would succeed and get a job within one year of graduation. That was a lie, I reached out to the school for assistance, and they responded with check indeed. I didn’t pay four years of tuition for them to tell me that, you don’t need a college degree to know how to do that

If you’re considering enrolling here don’t. This is not a school built for learning; it’s built for chaos, burnout, and frustration. The administration has no regard for student time or wellbeing. Exams, quizzes, and workshops are announced with little to no notice sometimes less than 24 hours and then scheduled outside of class time, forcing students to miss work and personal commitments. When you raise concerns, the response is essentially “too bad.”
The teaching quality is abysmal. Lectures are disorganized, instructors read directly off slides, and when an exam is open-note, it doesn’t even help because the material is taught so poorly that you still have no clue what’s going on. The program creates an environment where survival replaces actual learning. And then they wonder why their pharmacy licensing exam pass rate is 60%!
There’s also a rampant cheating problem that the administration refuses to address. Instead of investigating or improving exam integrity, they make tests harder and pile on even more assignments punishing the honest students while rewarding those who cheat. It’s demoralizing and unfair.
And the tuition? Around $50,000 a year for what? Outdated facilities, overworked professors, and a cafeteria that charges a dollar for a plastic fork. Every part of this place screams exploitation rather than education.
If you care about your mental health, your time, and actually learning your profession look elsewhere. This school does not care about its students; it cares about appearances and tuition checks.

Very bad professors and their teaching is horrible with terrible deadlines.The online classes are very horrible and professor mohandra is very bad I don’t recommend anyone use online classes at all.

I attended LIU Brooklyn for my first year of college, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this school—especially given how expensive it is as a private institution. The campus is small, and there are very few student activities. It felt like the only option was to attend class and then leave right away.
The area surrounding the campus often felt unsafe, particularly at night. I had to take evening classes, and walking to the train station afterward made me fear for my safety due to the large presence of homeless individuals and those struggling with substance abuse in the area.
The academic advising was extremely poor. In my first semester alone, I had three different advisors because they kept quitting. Due to this lack of consistent and helpful advising, I now have to spend an extra year in college to make up for misplanned courses.
While at LIU, I struggled with depression and anxiety. Since transferring to a community college, I’ve received better advising, found more student involvement opportunities, and have been much happier and more supported overall. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL

The student affairs office is number one when it comes to making things harder for students rather than helping them. It’s truly a school with no system in place, where no one knows what’s going on. If you need to get something done, you have to struggle for about a year. They can even randomly tell you that you owe money to the school and demand payment. A school that absolutely does not deserve the money it charges.

This school does not embody great leadership at all! It's like the blind leading the blind. Leaving students to get inadequate advice, guidance, resources, and results all while having student staff poorly advise each other while the higher ups get paid!!!! Issues go unresolved, and no one takes responsibility or accountability and constantly passes issues off from one person to another. Failing to have a proactive and clear approach in handling any issue adequately. Some of the staff are unprofessional, extremely rude, and unhelpful. After acceptance and the well played orientation, you are on your own!!! The only bottom line they care about is MONEY. Misadvising students to accept loans without prior knowledge or offering scholarships and tuition waivers without honoring them or providing inadequate financial advice or financial aid, especially to disadvantaged students. Save yourself the time, stress, aggravation, misguidance, and most of all, your money! This school is ran so poorly, they make CUNY seem like an ivy league!

Every phone call I've had with admissions has been so rude and condescending for no reason. There is absolutely a negative culture at LIU Brooklyn. Don't waste your time trying to get help from them, they don't care. Definitely choosing other universities.

When your teacher yells at you, it is common in this university. You don't have a choice, you must study with a person who makes you stressed and nervous . They are never going to take care of you as a student. and after 3 weeks of study there are no options to cancel classes if you have a grant.I would never recommend anyone to study at LIU.

Just keep this in your mind, even with full scholarship, you end up paying thousands of dollars for nothing. This is not a university or scientific institution, it’s a scam company that makes money out of admissions they give. So unprofessional and irresponsible. They make a thousand of promises with no action. They count on international student who cannot sue them or get a lawyer. I was promised a full tuition waiver and stipend as a PhD student as any other universities in the whole world. After I started my program, they informed me we will not continue your scholarship or stipend. I managed to get out of there after 1 semester but they charged me 2800 dollars for their insurance which I had my own insurance and coverage. When I was there, they simply said you either pay the whole thing or get back to your country we don’t care.

My classes were great but I'm giving it one star for their financial aid plan. I would give it no stars if I could. I'm hoping things have changed so that no one else goes through what I went through. I was in the accelerated nursing program that was a 1-2 year program for people who already had a Bachelor's degree. I aced the exam to get into the nursing program but because I hadn't paid off the Perkins loan which was in the thousands by the next semester I wasn't able to do it. I was forced to drop out and was not able to get my transcripts so that I could transfer to another school. It took me years to pay off that loan because I wasn't working and by the time I finally paid it off I was working and didn't want to go back because I didn't want to take out any more loans. I told people about my experience and some said they had the same experience. I heard a lot of schools did away with making students pay off loans before they could move on to the next semester. I hope LIU is one of them.
