review is from service received in 2024. Avoid this service center. I was traveling for work, they knew this as all my information provided was out of the area. I was provided a quote for work, of which i signed but was not provided a copy and did not receive the electronic version like normal. An hour or so later, I was approached and told that they made a mistake and forgot to charge me for the parts, the quote I received was only for labor. I told them never mind, but they said they already had the old part removed and can't put it back on. I fully believe this is a scam they run often on travelers (maybe women) to low ball a repair quote and then get you in a position where you have to pay WAY more than quoted and probably wouldn't have agreed to initially had you known the actual cost of the repair.

Have owned two Volvo . Wanted to purchase a new Volvo 40 . Had a terrible experience at Volvo With the finance Manager. Was told we’re not welcome at the dealership. The finance manager said he would never help us . Totally unprofessional.

My dealer is southeast Volvo but I put one engine light check service request accidentally at west Houston Volvo here. I was think maybe give them a try. But when I call to confirm the reservation around 11 today, the lady was not friendly. Besides, she told me there is no way to get engine light check on Saturday, I need to drop the car there. But I didn’t inform this when making reservation a week ago. Finally, I cancelled this reservation and just walk-in at my original southeast dealer. They are very helpful and took good care of my car.

In short, stay away from this dealership and buyer beware.
My wife and I leased an XC40 here in 2020. To be fair, the purchase experience went great but that was the last positive interaction we had here.
Interaction #1
In 2021, my wife brought the car in because the brake peddle was pulsing during braking. We both know that is not normal. The service department claimed they checked the braking system and everything was normal. I asked if they checked for uneven surface wear on the rotors, only because I'm mechanically inclined enough to know that is a common cause of brake pulsing. Guess what? The rotors were warped out of Volvo spec and would be replaced under warranty. Ask yourself how many times the service department here has done similar things to other owners and pushed warranty repairs out so that they were financially responsible.
Interaction #2
When the 2020 XC40 lease was up, we were happy with the vehicle and wanted to stay in the Volvo family but figured that we would get the newer model and purchase a 2023 XC40. At the end of the lease, we had a couple thousand dollars of equity since the trade in value was higher than the residual left on the lease. If you're savvy, you know that equity belongs to us and can be rolled into another lease or purchase. My salesperson was trying to feed me BS lines about how they couldn't give me the equity, that it was actually Volvo corporate purchasing the vehicle, not the dealership, excuse after excuse. My wife and I contacted a different dealership that immediately confirmed what I said above. The equity in the lease belonged to us and they were happy to roll that equity into whatever vehicle we wanted to purchase. Ask yourself how many times the sales department has done the same thing to others and literally stolen thousands of dollars.
Interaction #3
We ended up purchasing a 2023 XC40 at a different Volvo dealership. This past week, the car had an error code pop up that limited driving speed to 6 MPH. After doing some basic troubleshooting, we had to resort to taking the car in. Turns out it was just a faulty battery that needed to be replaced and then service department problems started up again. At first, when service thought that we were responsible for replacing the battery ($600 BTW for a standard battery replacement) they said they could swap it out same day in an hour and get us back on the road. I asked if the battery was under warranty since the vehicle wasn't even 3 years old. The battery is indeed covered but of course that's when the excuses started. Their "warranty system" was down so they could not process the warranty same day and the next day was the 4th of July meaning that the dealership was closed. We were promised that the technician would perform the replacement first thing Saturday morning. Here's the list of issues we had to deal with:
1. The dealership did not start the replacement in the morning
2. The service team was unresponsive and uninformative when we reached out for status updates
3. They did not start the replacement until my wife and I physically drove to the dealership
4. For some reason, the time to replace a battery is 2 hours when being done under warranty (1 hour longer than when they thought we were paying out of pocket)
5. When they finally started the battery replacement, they could not replicate the codes thrown Thursday which could not be saved in the system on Thursday because the system was down and for whatever reason they need the code to be thrown at the same time as they are performing the replacement (keep in mind that they know for a fact that the battery is faulty since the car had to be jumped Saturday morning even after charging on Thursday)
6. Even after confirming that they HAD STARTED the battery replacement on Saturday at 1230 PM and that it would take no longer than 2 hours, the vehicle was not ready until Monday afternoon. At this point, Volvo finally offered a loaner until the repair was complete.
In sum, the horrible experiences have made it so that we'll never own a Volvo.

Everyone at the dealership was very outgoing and went above and beyond. Paul in finance and Charles in sales. The sales manager Phillipe needs to work on his customer service skills. My wife purchased a Volvo XC60 from there and found a scratch on the bumper. We tried countless times trying to reach Phillipe, the "sales manager." He was off the next day and was left several messages by my wife, Paul, and Charles. Phillipe never called. My wife filled out a survey where she wanted the General Manager to call her. Low and behold, Phillipe finally called. How coincidental is that? My wife tried to explain to Phillipe about the scratch that we had noticed once we got home. He stated that there was no way that that scratch was on the vehicle when it left the dealership. He basically was telling my wife and I that we had put the scratch on the vehicle because the vehicle was double-checked by the employees who prepped the car for purchase. I asked him if he could guarantee that the employees were perfect and could never overlook a scratch that they were not looking for or at while they were prepping the vehicle? He proceeded to say that he was not going to argue with us. I don't know who was arguing, but he kept saying that. We were trying to explain to him that people are not perfect and that you can't guarantee what someone else does because you were not there to observe and monitor what was going on. He agreed to get some touch-up paint for the scratch and that he would call us back the next day. That was on Aprill 11th, meaning that he would call us back on the 12th. He never called to touch back base with us to let us know about picking up the paint. My wife went to pick up her plates on the 29th. When my wife asked him about him not calling, he said that he was waiting for us to come pick the touch-up paint. How crazy does that sound. What it all boils down to is that they got their sale and they were finished with us. We will not be buying another vehicle from West Houston Volvo ever again. Upper management needs to send Phillipe through a customer service training program.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Volvo dealership. Their technical service was subpar—when I brought my car in to fix a body part that fell off (not from an accident, just regular use), they couldn’t even match the color correctly. This part failure was due to a manufacturing issue, but they still charged me for it, which feels unfair and unprofessional.
To make matters worse, the customer relations here are terrible. I barely received any updates during the repair process and only got information when I reached out myself. They showed little initiative in keeping me informed or making me feel like a valued customer.

Be careful with these guys if you take your car for service and get a loaner. They'll ask to inspect the car for paint chips during the walkthrough and try to sneak in an existing wheel scratch which was never inspected when you return the loaner car.
After 4 years of going here for regular service this seems like a new scam and I am never going back here again.

Be cautious. Received multiple “additional critical services required” notices from them following a customary inspection totaling near $1k. Took the car to multiple other shops for multiple other opinions on the report provided. No other shop thought any additional work was needed or even desirable at all. Couldn’t even figure out the basis for the report. Buyer beware - borderline highway robbery.

I love my Volvo but am beginning to really dislike this dealership. I live a fair distance from the dealership but have an event close to the dealership in a couple of weeks. So given gas prices and time constraints I called the dealership last week to schedule basic services (oil change, tire rotation etc) that my car was due for while I was going to be in the area and was told service has to be more than 2 hours to get a loaner which I needed in order to attend the event I was coming to the area for. Yesterday, I scheduled online for service but added services (oops I forgot that the inspection was due too) which exceed the two hour window I was told needed to get a loaner. I was immediately called and told no I could not have a loaner. They are reserving them for those over two hours (but wait my services requested are over that time limit??) and was told "well it does not matter since we don't have cars unless you have a mechanical breakdown". The gentleman was BEYOND RUDE!!! He never let me finish a sentence or statement, even after I asked him to let me speak. I don't have time to let people waste my time much less to disrespect me. But the absolute icing on the cake that sent me over the edge was the email I received this morning -
You may be due for maintenance
We hope you’ve been enjoying every mile behind the wheel of your Volvo. We recommend that your vehicle be serviced annually or at the recommended mileage interval, whichever comes first. Allow our team of factory-trained technicians to complete any necessary care, using only Volvo Genuine Parts and precision tools. Schedule your appointment today, and we’ll make sure you’re ready for the road ahead. We'll pick up your Volvo and provide a loaner.
Guess the marketing team and the service team don't know how to communicate. Nor does the service team scheduler.
