ASRC has incredible facilities and brilliant researchers, but the environment can be over competitive, bureaucratic, and surprisingly resistant to collaboration with students and researchers from other CUNY institutions. Access to shared facilities can also be unnecessarily difficult and highly dependent on the individual superuser. Your experience ultimately depends heavily on your PI, research group, and ability to navigate the institution.
