We took our 4 year old who was having lower abdominal pain in to be seen and hopefully treated. We were taken back by a male nurse with a long white beard who weighed and measured my son then greated by a female nurse who obviously did not care to be there. She asked a few questions and took my child's vital signs and proceeded to explain that she would be drawing blood and getting a urine sample to send off to the lab. About and hour and a half after the blood was drawn and the urine was sent in for testing the CT technician comes in our room and asks to take my 4 year old to get his CT scan done. I was shocked! No one EVER came to speak to us about blood work results or his urine results. I asked the technician what the reason for the CT scan and he said it was because his blood work came back normal....I then asked to have the doctor come speak to us because we had concerns about our child getting the contrast for the CT scan. The doctor NEVER came to our room. We were taken to the CT room and the Technician (who was the ONLY plesant person) explained that my child would have to be comepletly still for the scan. WELL being that my 4 year old was having lower abdominal pain it was imposible to have him lay flat on his back. when I explained it to the Tech, he totally understood but when I told the nurse, her reaction was " Well, we will just discharge him!" ..... AND THAT WAS IT! my son was discharged and NOTHING was done to help him ease his pain. The doctor NEVER once showed her face to explain any of our concers and the female nurse was there just because she needs a paycheck. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EMERGENCY ROOM SERVICE!

I just got back home from here and must say it was the best stay I've ever had, nurses always made sure I was not in pain and were there within 2 minutes to help me. Very knowledgeable team of nurses and doctors and made sure to give me tips for when I was at home. Again every nurse from my room to the operating room were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back if I needed to!!

I didn't listen to the negative reviews on here and it cost me over $10,000. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review but this hospital should be charged with extortion. A 2 hour visit with only routine blood work and an ultrasound done cost me over $10,000. If that's not criminal, I don't know what is.
And good luck trying to get anyone at all to help you. All you will get is the run-around. They will not do even basic things like send your script to your pharmacy, provide you with your itemized bill, let you speak to a manager (who never seems to be there and comes in when he likes). This place is all about making money and does not care about you as the patient. To make matters even worse (if that was possible), they mis-diagnosed me as well. Please stay away from this place, don't make the same mistake as I or others have made.

To management, if you are reading this, please notice all your negative reviews and make an effort to put your patients first and provide at least some level of customer service. There is no way sick patients who put their trust in you should be charged this amount of money for a one or two hour visit, not given any explanation, and not have anyone to contact for some explanation. This is not right what you are doing to people.

This was my first experience here with First Texas Hospital and I must say even though I wasn't feeling well upon my arrival but from the time I entered the the building the staff here they were nothing less than welcoming andi could feel the warm hospitality and felt that they were very concerned with my well being and health. They are very kind, caring, very professional. They were also very understanding of what I said or needed. I would recommend anybody to come here and make First Texas their first choice to getting the best professional service from well trained and professional staff. Thanks to every single Nurse and every single Respiratory Tech, the Dietary staff for the hospitality and most of all Dr. Ho for everything he done also while I was here. God Bless and thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. -Signed Brittany Harrell, Patient

These guys are worst than thieves. For being in their emergency room for 20 minutes, of which the doctor saw me for 3 minutes, I was charged $2000. $1330 for facilities charges, and $670 for physician charges. that is on top of what my insurance payed. DO NOT GO.
Already called a lawyer and in process of taking these thieves to court. Opening a class act suit against their dishonest practices. At no point they listed prices, and at no point they explained to us that will be 2 type of charges for the facilities and for the doctor.

I had a terrible experience with this place. I will never go again and I suggest that anyone who sees this thinks twice.
I went in extreme pain and left with slightly less pain. I had a bad experience with the Doctor who was onsite at the time.
I was not going to post a review if I was taken care of by the 4 people I spoke to for about 30 minutes each person and conversation but that did not happen so here we are.

I discussed this issue at great length with many individuals over there who were full of apologies but made little effort to assure I was actually taken care of despite saying that my opinion was all that mattered. Being nice and apologetic doesn't actually solve any problems. Save your time and money, drive a few miles more to go to a real hospital not this glorified Urgent Care.

Please be aware of billing, I went in for a level 1 dobbler under sound, no blood work, no recommendations or prescriptions. However on the billing side they had me at a level IV which makes the cost much higher. I'm going through a dispute now with them and honestly their billing office needs more training in customer service as well. There are 3 other hospitals within 5 miles of their hospital, unfair charging is bad for business. Wish I could have left a zero star.

Nurse was great and that is only reason you're getting 1 star. Your prices are exuberant!! You all are charging way above usual and customary for an emergency room visit! Your level 4 usual and customary fee is over $2000 more than Methodist freestanding ER, your xray fees were $400-500 more than Methodist as well! Don't you find that a bit ridiculous? Don't you think you are price-gouging customers? In addition, there is no network discount applied to this claim. Your billing department needs to appeal this claim because it was emergent! I am not paying this bill as it stands now at a coins of $996 on my 80-20 plan when Methodist down the road billed properly and correctly and I only had to pay a little over $200 for my coins there! I would have taken this up with your billing department but when I try to go out to your billing dept online I have to jump through hoops and get re-directed and still could not access my bill.

I went to First Texas due to an infection in my foot due to stepping on a piece of glass, exacerbated by my diabetes.Everything about my experience was FIRST CLASS! My daytime nurse was one of the very best I have ever encountered; she was the epitome of a personable, caring, well trained health provider. I am an active, very busy person by nature, and a difficult, cranky patient in a hurry to get released. She made the time bearable and it seemed to pass expeditiously. The entire hospital is "Human" friendly and very respectful of their patients. There were no demands to get into one of those ridiculous gowns, no required use of a urinal since I could walk to the restroom; the hospital is very bright and clean and comfortable. The Doctor completed rounds in the morning; I was discharged at 12:30 pm, rather than being promised a morning release and getting out at 8:00 pm, as I have always experienced at a larger hospital in the area. The menu for meals was small in choices but absolutely "over the top" for quality. Both of my lunches were outstanding, but far more than I could eat. I wound up saving at least a 1/2 of the sandwich for an evening snack each day. Kitchen staff was, like everyone else there, warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable.

This is what a hospital SHOULD be!!

My niece accidentally got her elbow dislocated while playing. So we took her to this brand new Hospital. The whole process was incredibly fast and we were the only people in the waiting room. She is only 2 years old and really had a fun time in the kids area after the doctor came in and quickly knew what to do to get her bones back in place and it was instant she was back to normal and happy as soon as he popped her elbow back in to place. No X-rays were necessary and no pain medication was needed. She was instantly happy and back to normal. She has been ever since and she says thank you to her nurse and doctor. Every experience is different but my experience happened one day out of the blue during the busy part of the evening. There was no one else in the waiting room and we were seen right away. I am pretty sure it was because of how efficient they are. Everyone was nice and friendly and the er room for kids was about as good as you can make a little Er room for kids be. Clean, TV with cartoons, Nice hand painted Fish murals on the walls and the nurse was very skilled at calming down a crying little 2 year old girl. In short it was a neat little kids room designed for little kids to not be scared of an ER room, I think it really made a difference to her as she is just 2 and really can get frightened from scary looking places especially with unfamiliar people and large machines (not to mention she was in pain at the time). After a quick blood pressure and a few questions the doc popped in with great bedside manner (cool, calm, and and friendly while under the pressure of a 2 year old with tears in her eyes). Quickly he explained what he thinks happened and knew how to fix it and did it fast. The little girl was pretty much as happy as could be and her face went from crying to happiness and stayed happy all day long. She was so happy she gave the nurse a hug and told the doctor by by thank you and wanted to start playing again. This really beat the pants off my last ER visit to a large hospital elsewhere. with a huge waiting room full of sick people for hours on end while feeling like I was absorbing hundreds of new sickness causing bacteria just from standing there. But I digress, 5 stars all day long from my niece.
