It’s my first time on Roosevelt island and I’m super impressed with the beautiful campus.
I was a Pace University graduate before life took on a few unexpected turns and it looks like the algorithm has brought me here.
Now I’m thinking of joining the AI Lab at Cornell.

A disappointing display of scientific gatekeeping
As someone who follows emerging astrophysical research, I’m genuinely disappointed in arXiv’s decision to reject Dr. Beatriz Villarroel and Dr. Stephen Bruehl’s recent peer-reviewed paper on historical sky anomalies dismissing it as “not of interest.”
This work applied standard astronomical methods to archived sky-survey data and found statistically significant correlations worth investigating further. Regardless of whether one agrees with the interpretation, it clearly meets the criteria of legitimate scientific inquiry.
arXiv was founded at Los Alamos and is now managed by Cornell, institutions built on curiosity and open inquiry. Yet this rejection shows that the platform has become more about protecting reputations than fostering discovery. “Not of interest” is not a scientific argument, it’s a convenient way to silence research that challenges established narratives.

A Bloom-bug project that should have never been created. It blocks the entire bridge view. It ruins the beautiful legacy. The city sacrifices for this project. No public outcry. What does this school campus contribute to this world?? I haven’t heard anything. Now everything is online. No point of building anything on this site. It just signifies ego and greed by billionaires or a small group of people. This site is a good example.

Came here at night to enjoy the city view from Roosevelt Island. Cornell Tech campus was a modern design with lots of glasses. It sure is a nice campus and is a nice escape from the city
