I went here for abdominal pain. Long story short they were all super nice. Doctor was a rude man at first but then changed his tone. I don’t know why but it helped how I felt about this place. They actually called me back the next day to check on me and ask how I was feeling. I was told I was going to be charged $215 and I could pay what ever I could that day and be billed for the rest later. Unfortunately my insurance didn’t cover a lot of the up front costs. After reading some reviews I really hope I don’t get any surprise bills. Overall it was a good experience and I’d recommend them to my friends and family.

Ok so I guess I should have read the reviews before taking my son in. So a couple of months ago I called ahead of time to bring in my son for a swollen cheek. I asked over the phone what would be the charges for a visit. They said $215 for the visit by a doctor & and any additional services would be billed later. So I agreed to the visit and only because it was open at the time and because I wasn't sure how serious my son's illness was so I wanted him to be seen immediately. We walked in, filled out paperwork and sent to a room. The nurse did her thing and then the doctor walked in and touched his face and asked some questions then walked out. There was no diagnosis until the nurse came back in and asked me if I want to continue the visit. So I thought to myself well he has not told me what the problem is and I thought I was paying for a doctor's visit plus diagnosis. So I told her yes I want to know what my son has and then the doctor walks back in and says he has a salivary gland infection. Then he prescribes the meds that he needs to follow up with a family doctor. I agreed and then we left thinking that everything was done and paid for. Now I'm getting a bill for almost $700 of doctor fees and $1,200 of facility fees plus the $215 that I paid at the day of service. He did not do anything extra to my son but just look at him, touch him and prescribe the meds. Now I am very aware of how things can be expensive but that is why I called prior to coming in with my son because I am not trying to be irresponsible I'm trying to pay what is reasonable. I've called the billing department and they said that the facility does not have to make me aware of any additional charges then I called the facility and they said they don't know about any of the additional charges so at the end of it all there was nothing that they said they could do. I believe this place is just trying to get you when you are least vulnerable and trying to get anything they can from your pocket. Be aware of those hidden charges because they are trying to jip their clients. This is the Louetta and Cutten location.

Had to go to the ER 2 days in a row. Out of maybe the 6 or 7 people we encountered, only 2 of them acted like they cared and weren't condensending towards us. I really wish I could remember their names.
Sunday I came in for a sore throat and a fever. It was so swollen back there that I couldnt even drink water, the doctor took one look, said it swollen and was strep and I need to keep taking my antibiotics I got prescribed by an online doctor. We had to keep explaining to him that I was at the point of not being able to take them, considering I had a cup with me to spit out my own saliva that I couldnt swallow. In the end I got a steroid shot and a antibiotics shot, and before we left the nurse came in and gave us a long speech about how I needed to take the antibiotics (it sounded like she just didnt believe us).
Monday- woke up even worse. I almost felt like I couldn't breathe and couldn't get in until hours later when my mom came home to take me to the ER. When we got there, a sweet nurse came out and saw how much pain I was in and got me back asap. After taking my vitals, I was extremely dehydrated and had to get hooked up to an IV. New doctor asked why I hadn't taken the antibiotics that day, and we repeatedly had to tell people how I could not swallow. Anything. Which is why I was dehydrated. The she looked in my throat, said nothing was swollen and I just had large tonsils that seemed irritated? They took some blood, did a CT(the guy who took me for the CT was the only other person who acted like they cared), tested for mono (they ran NO tests the first visit btw) and everything came back normal. Then we got a long explanation AGAIN about how we needed to take my prescribed antibiotics, and my mom literally held up the large pills and explained "how is she supposed to take these if she cant even drink liquid?!". We asked if they could give me anything for the pain to where I might be able to get them down(even numbing spray), they said no. Basically just acted like they wanted to get us out of there. They suggested that in a week or so I go to a ENT doctor to see if I need my tonsils out.
Instead, we went to one a few hours later at St Lukes. Who took one look at me and asked why I wasnt admitted into a hospital already. Saw my throat was completely swollen, I could barely talk, and sent me to their ER where I was admitted into the hospital immediately and I've been here since Monday.
If you would like any of the information about the 2 ER visits we made to your hospital, we will be happy to send it over.

I came in with a HORRIBLE rash that mysteriously is moving up and down my body literally head to toe and Dr Bowers walks in looks at me and says you're allergic to something, looked at the rash for less than 2 minutes, did no blood work, gave me benadryl and charged me 100 dollars and I feel exactly the way I did when I walked in. The Dr never checked in on me again and while I was there the rash continued to spread. She asked no other questions just said I was allergic to something and walked out! Completely unprofessional and normally I would highly recommend this hospital but beware if Dr Bowers is there because it seemed as though I could have been holding my head in my hand and she would have said that I had a cut, put a bandage on it and sent me home with a bill for the hospital and an extra one for her "time". Ridiculous that you go to an er to feel better not the same as when you walked in. Last time i checked you were supposed to see a dr when you feel bad and they're supposed to make you better but I guess I'm misinformed.

Staff was amazing, about 5 minutes is all we waited once paper work was completed. Nurse Erica and Olivia were great and Bianca at the front desk was super nice and helpful! Dr Olade was promptly in the room and explained everything well. My husband was referred to a surgeon who will see him in the morning!

I took my child to their emergency room and had a wonderful experience (under the circumstances :)). Everyone, from the receptionist to the doctor, was very nice and professional. We were able to be seen and receive treatment very quickly. The children's triage room is painted with cute murals and there is a miniature train set at the nurse's station. It was so much better than my experience at a large hospital ER. I would especially recommend First Texas if you are taking in a child.

My son was taken here by my ex wife for a headache. Without my consent she gave them my information. I take care of my son and I know I wouldn't take him to place like this because the insurance doesn't cover all costs. Now I am stuck with the bill. Almost $10,000 for a headache and my son was not even admitted. How can places like these operate legally? This is a scam of the highest order. I am writing my congressman.

I am extremely unhappy with my service here! Do not go here! I went in for extreme stomach pain. I spoke with the Dr. for maybe ten minutes. He touched my stomach where it hurt and listened to my lungs. That's it! No urine sample, blood work, ultrasound etc! He said I was constipated and didn't even feel my colon! I got so frustrated I started crying. I was in and out in 30 min with two otc medications and one for nausea. Ridiculous, I chose here because that had equipment to do scans vs a redi clinic. I would have gotten far better service there. Don't waste your time and money and please go somewhere else!

I would give no stars if I could. I fell and hit my head in September and went to the ER facility on Atascocita Road. MEDICARE is my primary insurance, Aetna secondary. I recently received a bill from First Texas for $7,098. The bill showed that insurance paid 2 cents! I called the billing department and I was told by Tamra in billing that MEDICARE paid $6,900+ in October and then “recinded”? that amount a week later. Therefore I was responsible for the total bill. I asked if she called MEDICARE to find out why that was done and she said “we don’t call the insurance company “ (??). I was flabbergasted. WHAT MEDICAL FACILITY DOESN’T FOLLOW UP WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES!!! I then called MEDICARE and also was able to pull the Summary I received from them and I was told they paid their 80% of reasonable amount, which they are saying is the way it works when a medical facility works with MEDICARE. (They denied sending $6900 and then taking it back. Didn’t happen) They told me to mail a copy of the summary to First Texas with all the payment details and tell them to call the “Provider” line if they have questions. I called First Texas (2nd time) and got Tamra again. I told Tamra about my conversation with MEDICARE but she still said that I owed the full amount of money to them. Keep in mind First Texas shows no payment from Medicare or Aetna although I have paperwork saying there were payments from both. In frustration, I called MEDICARE and they reiterated that the Medical facility should call them about straightening it out. I called First Texas (3rd time) and this time got Kiera (sp?), and she told me First Texas DOES NOT call the insurance companies (ARE YOU KIDDING ME??). I was very upset by this time. And continue to be. I plan on writing a letter, with the MEDICARE and Aetna payment summaries with invoice to First Texas President if I have to. First the cost was ridiculous and the billing department is atrocious. They are taking NO responsibility to try to straighten this out. I am NOT going to succumb to this form of extortion!!! I will not pay one penny on this bill until I get the attention it, and I, deserve. DO NOT GO TO ANY FIRST TEXAS FACILITY!! Someone should look into their business practices! It’s atrocious.
