Beyond my ER experience, the care on the intermediate care unit, at least with the nurses, was so much better. Unfortunately, I had no orders for my daily meds, let alone meds I needed for pain management & nausea. I literally had to take my own daily meds I happened to bring with me on the 1st night. Completely ridiculous. It took hours for my nurse to even get the orders for IV fluids let alone the meds I needed. I did not sleep at all that night. I was exhausted & absolutely terrified about my ER experience & that my blood pressure was outrageously high & I was still tachycardic. The next day I had a consult with a colo-rectal surgeon who ordered another CT with drinkable contrast. I finally got the contrast to drink, was given Zofran to help with the nausea but then it took more than 3 hours from the time I finished drinking the contrast for someone to come get me for the scan. All that time trying to hold in the contrast because supposedly they only had one patient transporter for radiology that day. Not MY problem!! That was ridiculous. Finally had my regular med orders for the 2nd night so that was a relief. I have nothing negative to say about the care I received by my nurses on this floor. They were very attentive and caring. It was my ER experience that makes me hope & pray that I never have to return to this hospital.

My husband is 66 and went to kingwood hospital by ambulance due to stroke symptoms, and they sent him home after 3 days and his vision is still blurry, its been a week since he was released , I will not bring him back to kingwood hospital, it was terrible!! The rooms were dirty, staff did not care about getting his medication on time, it was just a bad experience over all !

Some of the staff are wonderful, but overall, our visit was lousy. You absolutely must have a family member or friend advocating on your behalf to make sure that you are getting the appropriate care. We are switching doctors so that we never have to stay in this hospital again.

Wound care is great, great attitude s, great bed side manners. Kind and caring. I have had negative experiences w nurses tho and a few doctors , one doctor treated me disrespectful after my car accident , The way he talked to me was unacceptable ,I considered verbally abusive, sarcastic demeanor and insulting.( Dr. Shultz. ) He has NO bedside manners. Kingwood hospital has a bad reputation amongst Alot of people I talk to. Nurses and Doctors should be held accountable for the way they treat people.

The hospital itself is fantastic, I had a great doctor (Dr. Clinger, seriously spectacular) and there was a great team that took care of my baby and I once she was born. Honestly every service I've received here has been outstanding. However the women's specialist call center is wildly ridiculous. Like they've always been slightly annoying but tallerarable seeing how great the service is else where. Until today, apparently they can not send messages after noon on Fridays to your doctor, and everything closes. But they can transfer you to an after hours line that you can pay for, however it's apparently impossible to get through to the after-hours doctor through the call system so that's heaps of fun. Also Veronica should find a different line of work, because she really is terrible at the one she has now.

The Nurse at the Desk in the Day Surgery waiting room was prejudice and went as far as to put my grandson, his wife and baby out of the waiting room because the baby was crying. I feel that if they had been white she wouldn't have said anything, but they were Black so she was being mean to them.

I don’t understand why the hospital even replies with “I am sorry and so on” why do yall wanna fix something after yall give out horrible treatment to patients? Why not fix the actual problem. My sister is currently at the hospital as we speak! She just got surgery done yesterday. Her blood pressure is low and keeps getting low yet they haven’t told her why?? And she is leaking from the hole from surgery and they are trying to discharge her like that??? She hasn’t eaten anything! They promised to feed her 3 hours ago!! No Doctor has yet went in to talk to her or explain how to care for the wound left from surgery! Or at least tell her what she can eat so we can go get it out self’s at the cafeteria! I don’t understand why hospitals employee these professionals who don’t care about patients!

My care right before discharge left me distraught. I was rushed out and my doctor didn’t prescribe any pain meds after surgery. Surgeon on my discharge paperwork is not the surgeon who performed my surgery. Some of my nurses were great. Some were meh. I woke up with two IVs (one in my hand and one in the fold of my arm). The IV in my hand caused my whole hand and arm to swell. I was on NPO forever

I’ll start with the positive. They offer complementary valet, and the place was clean. The issues I had were, no one was at the front desk for quite some time when I entered. A few of the nurses are wearing heavy perfume, which is not conducive for patients with respiratory issues, and chemical sensitivities. They also did not keep my family informed like they told me they would. Within 15 minutes after I opened my eyes from being under they were wheeling me out of recovery back over to my prep room. The nurse began rushing me to get dressed so they could escort me out. I was moving extremely slow, and still felt heavily sedated. I asked if she would go get my family member to help me dress so I would not fall. She did go get someone. Within a few minutes, she came back with the wheelchair and opened the curtain while I was half naked, began rushing me again. I had to ask her to close the curtain. Another issue is they did not go over any discharge instructions. She did hand me an envelope that had paperwork which contained the discharge instructions. The fact I was so out of it, it would’ve been nice for her to verbally give discharge instructions in front of my family member. Once I got into the wheelchair, it was like she was running a race to get me out, and left my family member down the hallway. They were in such a hurry to get rid of me. They forgot to give me my inhaler. They called once we were 10 minutes down the road. We drove back and asked if they could come down to bring it to us. We were told no we needed to come up to the second floor to get it. I’m wondering if they were understaffed and overbooked with patients.
On a sidenote, none of the issues reflect my amazing Dr and his team. I could not have had a better experience when it came to my Dr, and his team.
