We chose this facility primarily because it carries the Memorial Hermann name (and the location was indeed convenient). After waiting 3+ hours all that has been done is a check of vitals. There were only 4 other people in the waiting area when we arrived at 8pm. Even if the care we may eventually receive is amazing (when we finally get care), we won't be coming back here again.

This is the ER from Hell!
We took my mom here at 6:30 in the morning because she was complaining of chest pain. They got her in pretty quickly, so we thought we would have answers soon. WRONG!! They did an EKG and a CT scan and then just left us there to wait. The nurse came in to administer benadryl through an IV. We asked her what the benadryl was for, and she said SHE DIDN'T KNOW! She would go ask the doctor and tell us what he said. The nurse started an IV on my mom, and please see the attached picture of how much blood was left from her simply starting an IV. My mom told them she was hungry and asked if she could eat something. The nurse said she would find out. She came back and said that the doctor said it was ok for her to eat and she would bring her a sandwich. My mom asked for a blanket, and she said ok. It was an hour later before we got that blanket. I told her my mom was STILL hungry. She leaves and comes back saying they didn't have any sandwiches, so she brought graham crackers, jello, and pudding. With no spoon. Oh and about a 1/4 cup of water. At 11:30 am, they decide they're going to admit her to the hospital because of something they saw on the CT scan that had nothing to do with the chest pain she came in for! They also stated they wanted to do an MRI and an ultrasound on her heart to rule out stroke. We just have to wait on a bed to get ready so we can be admitted. We've been here 5 hours at this point with my mom in severe chest pain, and they're JUST NOW wanting to rule out stroke?! At about 12:45 PM, another nurse comes in and leaves gowns on the bed for my mom to change into for the MRI. She has about 5 wires hooked onto her chest, one going into her finger, and they expected her to get out of her clothes? It took me 15 minutes to get all the wires unhooked, my mom in the gowns, and the wires hooked back onto her chest. Oh and the window had to be taped up because the curtain was stuck and we couldn't close it. At 1:15 another lady wheels the ultrasound machine in. She is bumbling all over the place trying to get the machine in there. Another lady came in, and I could tell by their conversation that she was training the first lady. The experienced lady handled the ultrasound, explaining everything to the other lady along the way. When she finished, she pretty much told the other lady to play around with it so she could get comfortable. It was an over an hour before the ultrasound mess was finished so she could go get her MRI, 3:00 PM by the time we made it to the bed they promised. Meanwhile, my mom is still experiencing pain, and no one is addressing it. The neurologist came in and explained the results of the MRI. I inquired about her chest pain, and he ordered a second MRI to look at her neck and chest because the first one didn't address those parts. By 9:45 we still had not received the results of the second MRI or the ultrasound. We finally got a nurse to come in and we asked what was going on. We expressed our frustration at the lack of communication, and her response was pretty much, "Well visiting hours are over so only one of you can stay to talk to a supervisor." Yeah we refused to leave. Had they come in there to check on her and give us some communication before visiting hours ended, we would have been gone anyway. They brought the charge nurse and the hospitalist in to finally explain what was going on and let us know that all of the results were not in and that we would have results in the morning. All of this confusion could have been avoided had they just shown a little concern and compassion for their patients, and also learned how to communicate effectively. The staff at Memorial Hermann is completely incompetent and uncaring. Never will I ever advise anyone to seek help at this facility, as they clearly do not know the first thing about patient care. The only reason they get 1 star is because I am unable to review them without leaving something. Ridiculous that they are allowed to receive patients!

Took my son here as he has had extremely high fevers, and other symptoms that are concerning. The nurse asked us, “Why didn’t y’all wait until Monday to be seen?”
I also found her sitting at the nurses station on her phone instead of bringing my son a warm blanket. Her name is Shawna and she is lazy and lackadaisical. #doBETTER

Estimated $1733 for an initial visit for PT
Tried to call to understand the estimate but never got a person or a returned call. Seems outrageous

0/5. I came to the emergency department late in the night due to 9/10 oral pain that I felt was going to make me pass out, and no dentist was open that late. The emergency staff was extremely uncompassionate. I was in tears because the pain was so bad. The doctor told me he was going to give me Tylenol. I told him I had already taken a bunch of Tylenol, and I was still in extreme pain. The nurse started to lecture me on that taking too much Tylenol is dangerous. I told him I was in so much pain, and the nurse didn't care. The doctor finally gave me 1 proper pain medication which reduced the pain slightly. I waited for almost an hour back in the lobby. The doctor asked how I was feeling. I told the doctor I was still in a lot of pain and the doctor told me "yeah it's gonna hurt. You need to see a dentist. I'm discharging you". The doctor refused to prescribe me a proper pain medication and instead prescribed an nsaid which did not control the pain. Luckily I was able to see a dentist the next day, and I had the tooth removed. The dentist told me nsaids are inappropriate to treat oral pain of such magnitude, and the dentist took proper care of me. During my entire experience I felt like the doctor and nurses at memorial hermann did not care about my pain or me at all. I would not recommend this emergency department to anyone.

Set an appointment more than 30 days before I was scheduled to come in. The day before the appointment, Memorial Hermann canceled saying they’re booked until October/November and wasn’t taking any more appointments before then. Why was I allowed to book my appointment 30 days in advanced but get cancelled the day before? Why wasn’t I notified about this way before my scheduled day? This was planned around a specific time because it was needed. This is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNORGANIZED of Memorial Hermann and Provider TAMETRA Johnson. Fix or Update your systems because there’s no way I shouldn’t have been notified sooner to make other arrangements. Do Better!!

So, my doctor I had told me that my blood work came back fine and I asked so nothing was low in my blood work and everything is normal he goes and says yes again…. I look at my discharge papers as well as my my chart at it says it’s abnormal and my rbc was low and 2 other things were as well; truth be told I felt rushed out of there and for him to lie to my face is crazy I would not recommend going there at all!!!!!
