The staff at this hospital is absolutely amazing. My grandmother has had a couple of hospital admissions over the last few months since April 2026. The staff has been so patient and kind to my grandmother. Hats off to 4East staff... Sigy, Tigy, Kellie, Maria, Aleigha, Zemen, Misha, Rukshar, Neeha, Jennifer, Hayleigh, Shania, Tantine, Augustina, Makula, Idela, Maricela, Catalina. Special shout out to Jennifer, the pca who went above and beyond grooming my grandmother; Carelis, the nurse who was so kind and patient, could always start an IV, and spoke to my grandmother in Spanish; Aleigha and Sigy, two of the charges nurse who always got the job done.
Your family will be in good hands at MH Sugarland.

The facility itself was clean, professional, and my procedure went smoothly. My concern is not with the medical staff, but with the facility's billing practices and customer service.
I underwent what was intended to be a routine preventive endoscopy/colonoscopy earlier this year. Unfortunately, my insurance is on a grandfathered plan that does not cover preventive care without applying the deductible, which resulted in several unexpected bills, including a ~$400 facility charge from this center after applying my insurance!
I contacted the billing department several times by phone and email to see whether there was any flexibility or assistance available. I communicated with Tannya and Rana, but I found the experience disappointing. The responses were curt and unhelpful, and the only solution offered was to "discuss it with your insurance" or enroll in a payment plan. There was no willingness to explore any other options or show empathy for the situation.
What I find particularly frustrating is that healthcare providers often negotiate rates and adjustments with insurance companies, yet when patients are left with substantial out-of-pocket costs, there seems to be little willingness to work directly with them. A payment plan is not the same as addressing an unexpectedly high charge.
If you have a choice of facilities, I recommend comparing their facility fees before scheduling a routine preventive procedure. Paying over $400 (after insurance!) in facility charges for a simple preventive screening was an unpleasant surprise, and the lack of meaningful customer service made the experience even more disappointing.

My father was hospitalized with aspiration pneumonia and stayed for about four days. Before his hospitalization, he was receiving outpatient rehabilitation at TIRR. In order to resume therapy after discharge, TIRR required medical clearance from the hospital.
Throughout my father’s hospital stay, I repeatedly reminded the nurses that he would need clearance paperwork before discharge. Unfortunately, they made a mistake and provided rehabilitation referral orders instead of the required clearance letters.
After my father was discharged, I had to call the hospital myself to get this corrected. The discharge nurse initially told me they did not have such a form and that they “don’t do that.” This was frustrating because TIRR clearly required the clearance for my father to return to therapy. Eventually, after multiple calls, they corrected the mistake.
On Monday, I contacted TIRR and was told they had received the physical therapy and occupational therapy clearance letters, but the speech therapy clearance was still missing. I called the hospital again, but the discharge nurse was unavailable. I left a message, only to be told they weren’t sure when the nurse would return. Instead of helping resolve the issue, I was told they didn’t know how to complete the speech therapy clearance and suggested that my father see his primary care physician instead.
What made this even more frustrating was that no one else was willing to help. I was repeatedly told that there was no discharge nurse working that day and that all the other nurses could do was “pass along a message.” If the designated discharge nurse is unavailable, there should be another qualified staff member who can assist patients and families with discharge-related issues. Patients should not be left waiting simply because one specific person is out.
This response was extremely disappointing. It felt like the hospital was trying to shift responsibility to the PCP instead of correcting an error that occurred during my father’s discharge. If they were able to provide PT and OT clearance letters, I don’t understand why they couldn’t provide the speech therapy clearance as well.
Families caring for loved ones after hospitalization already have enough to manage. We should not have to spend days chasing paperwork that should have been completed correctly before discharge. This experience was very frustrating and reflected poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional discharge planning. I hope the hospital improves its discharge process so other families do not have to go through the same experience.

This place is horrible in customer service!!!! Upon taking a family member in for a surgical procedure and being advised of a pre-procedure amount being owed due to deductible not being met we were met with a very rude and un willing to work with us attitude! This was not a. Elective Surgical procedure by any means, therefore we were over a barrel. My family member is an hourly paid worker at a restaurant and the amount requested was almost $3,000. We asked if $1k would be scans payment for the balance would work, No they said it had to be 1-2 and the repaid in 3 months!!! No wiggle room whatsoever. Three months. We borrowed from another family member another $1k leaving $1k to be paid in 3 months at around $300 a month pluse due to the fact it was the first of the month the payment will be due the first of the month when rent is due. I asked if they could move the due date since they are auto debiting her account and they refused to do so. Well good for them because her rent will be paid and there won’t be any money for them now because they refuse to move their damn payment to the 15th on her next check. So totally unreasonable these people! She met all their hops and they still can’t help.

Would not recommend. My aunt was given a room and was moved to a smaller room in the middle of the night to accommodate another patient. The hospital asked her without notifying the family knowing she was 82… the new room was cluttered and dirty. The staff was rude to her, including telling her she could NOT have new water. The nurse asked her to STOP calling. I have never witnessed such behavior from a nurse or CNA. This staff does not care for their patients at all.

Your feedback is appreciated—thank you for these encouraging words.
The hospital doctors and staff were very professional and understanding about my colonoscopy and the fact that I was a little nervous at first. But when I got there my wait time was 5 min. and then they treated me like a KING. It turned out to be nothing to worry about and a great experience. I would never go anywhere else to have a colonoscopy in the future!
