Nurse Intern, Jacob Stocks was very rude & unprofessional. I was speaking with him about my father when two other staff members from another department came up to pick up a patient who was in room 303. Jacob stopped in the mist of our conversation & didn’t say excuse me let me assist with this patient, he just walked off. After I said excuse me he proceeded & said I’ll be back. When he got back to the nurse station he was still very rude. I requested a supervisor & he informed me he was the supervisor. I never received a call from a doctor to update me on my father’s condition. My father was released to the nursing facility without a family member being notified. Our experience was not good at all.

My experience at the facility’s ER was actually pretty good. However, the medicine I was prescribed for my medical emergency was “stuck in their system” and never made it to the pharmacy… no estimate was given regarding when it would be processed.
Update: Turns out nothing was sent from their end to the pharmacy. So, they miscommunicated (lied) to me.

This place was atrocious I would not take my pet. There it was the worse medical treatment I have ever received and I don't know how they are legally allowed to stay open.

My husband had back surgery there and passed away in recovery. I was told by the surgeon Dr. Richard Francis that everything went good with the surgery and the next thing I know my husband of 50 years was gone. No answer no explanation just gone. If I could give a lower rate I would. 💔😭

🚨 DANGEROUS CARE - Avoid Dr. Courtney at OakBend Hospital 🚨
I am writing this review to warn the community and urge hospital administration to investigate this physician. My experiences with Dr. Courtney in the Emergency Room have been absolutely miserable and, quite frankly, life-threatening. She severely lacks professional ethics and basic knowledge regarding the management of chronic illnesses.
If you are unfortunate enough to be treated by her, prepare to suffer. No matter how severe your pain is or what is causing it, her only solution is to offer Tylenol or nothing at all. Even knowing full well that Tylenol is completely useless for severe or chronic pain crises, she simply does not care about the patient's physical suffering or the underlying damage.
In my specific case, I went in with clear symptoms of a bowel obstruction. I explicitly warned her that if immediate action wasn’t taken, I could suffer a perforated bowel or rectal wall. Her response was to dismiss it and tell me "nothing will happen," showing a terrifying lack of medical competence and absolute indifference. Because of her negligence and failure to act, I almost lost my life on three separate occasions.
Her lack of credentials and clinical judgment speaks for itself. While top-tier doctors in the Houston area strive to work at prestigious institutions like Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, or MD Anderson, Dr. Courtney is only kept on as a part-time / PRN filler doctor to cover shifts when someone else calls out.
Leaving her care always leaves you feeling hopeless, defeated, and completely dismissed. If you value your health, love your life, and want to protect yourself, avoid Dr. Courtney at all costs, whether at OakBend Hospital or any other facility where she covers shifts. Do not risk your life with a doctor who lacks both empathy and medical capability.

This is my second review of three visits I had to their emergency room. While SOME of the staff is responsive and kind… most will see you as a pest and hassle. After having my third visit and begging to be admitted, they assume because of a positive pot test I did not deserve to be helped any further. If you are looking for compassionate, caring doctors… keep driving… this “hospital” staff needs to be reminded about the reason they got into medicine in the first place. Horrible place to get help

I visited the emergency department on April 29, 2026. While waiting in my room, I witnessed a situation involving another patient that I found concerning.
A young patient across the hall was clearly distressed and speaking loudly on the phone. A staff member addressed her about being disruptive, which was understandable. However, after that, the staff member remained standing at the doorway despite the patient repeatedly asking to be left alone. This appeared to escalate the situation rather than de-escalate it.
Additional staff eventually became involved, and the situation intensified to the point where the patient was medicated. From my perspective, it seemed that earlier de-escalation or allowing space may have reduced the distress.
This experience made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe in the environment. Additionally, my room did not have a functioning call light, which made it difficult to communicate with staff when I needed assistance.
I understand that healthcare staff must follow protocols and ensure safety, but I believe there is room for improvement in patient de-escalation practices and communication, as well as ensuring all rooms have proper access to call systems.
I hope this feedback helps improve patient experience and safety for others.

I visited the emergency department due to severe dizziness and concerning symptoms related to seizures. I underwent blood tests, urine tests, and a head scan, and I was told that everything was normal and there were no issues.
However, after seeking care at another hospital (Memorial Hermann), I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst and a urinary tract infection (bacteria in urine), both of which were completely missed during my visit here.
This is very concerning, as these findings are significant and directly related to my symptoms. Missing both conditions raises serious concerns about the accuracy and thoroughness of the evaluation I received.
While the staff was polite and the wait time was acceptable, I am not satisfied with the quality of care or the medical assessment. I strongly recommend improving diagnostic accuracy and paying closer attention to patients’ symptoms to prevent important conditions from being overlooked in the future.

I brought my father here because he is in late stage dementia and the nurses and director on the 6th floor are amazing…. Unfortunately my father didn’t get to 6th floor due to UTI and not being deemed necessary. … my experience in the ER was very weird. One male nurse was very disrespectful to another and justified it by Aquarius sign🙄and hippa was violated several times. My interaction with Tech Ms Palmer was very pleasant and thank GOD she was there. I just want to say it was a weird day for everybody still recommend 6th floor unit tho!!
