I can't really attest to the actual facility because we were not allowed beyond the visiting room. It appeared and smelled clean. It was very secure. My brother in law was sent there directly from another care facility 7 hours away and his wife had no choice. Due to all the bad reviews, we were very worried, so my husband and I went to check on him as soon as we could. My 5 stars are for the staff we interacted with. He was neat and clean and had on socks and shoes (which the other place never took care of). He was smiling and laughing with the ladies that brought him to see us (which he never did in the other place). After a short visit, he decided on his own to go back to his room (he always asked us to take him with us in the other place). He was calm but not a zombie (the other place kept shooting him full of Haldol). The ladies (Sophie and Ingaza) both stayed after he went back and gave us good information about his care, how and what he was doing, and gave us hope that he was improving every day and would continue to do so. They gave us a list of things the other place didn't send so we could get them for him. They were so kind, helpful, and encouraging that all 5 stars belong to them. Thank you, Sophie and Ingaza! You are a blessing to us and our brother!

You can tell they care. Was in and out but very efficient. Best staff was Israel, Sofia and nurse Pin. They took excellent care of me while I was here.

They communication between nurses responding is absolutely horrible, I’ve been trying to reach the nurses station for days and I left several voicemails, NOT one call back, this is a serious issue that I see from other reviews going back for months and even YEARS, this is a active issue that is continuing, this need to be investigated as to Why this issue is still ongoing. This is Unacceptable, people got love ones in there and not one responding representative returned a phone call as of August 3, 2026. Unacceptable.

The WORST FACILITY my son has ever been to. I will file a complaint with Medicare.Spoke to Brittany supervisor she did nothing. All they want is Insurance money. Why would they send a patient home with possession of medications when they are aware the patient is SUICIDAL. They need be be shut down and fined.

Dr. Zaidi - Zero stars.
No excuse for not returning calls while they have custody of your loved one. Insufficient communication and 20 minutes being bounced around, to no avail.
I wish I'd known then what I know now.
Google "Texas's overuse of psych meds on elderly." It's a thing. Depakote, Risperidone, Remeron... All of them have side effects.
If you are next of kin, you CAN object to this stuff.
My mom had dementia. Nursing hm sent her here to "eval." She walked away with all sorts of anti-schizophrenic, bipolar meds. Was a zombie. Lost the ability to communicate. I'm the evening she would be so medicated that she would shake with tremors. Nursing home would not recognize my refusal of the meds. Ombudsman said I was trying to withhold medication.
Ffwd a month-mom broke a hip and meds were suspended but testarted. A few weeks later, another surgery where she was taken off meds. She began speaking, again... intelligently. Took an act of congress to get the psych meds removed.
I would never let my loved one go thru psych meds again. Nobody tells you about the adverse reactions. Research "Akathisia."

If I can give zero stars I would. Please do NOT send your loved ones to this hospital. They will not tell you where they discharge your love one to. My 77 year old mother was there for a month and they were suppose to find her a group home to go to. The discharge nurse Celeste will not return my phone calls and the director Steven will not return my phone calls. I have left them voicemails after voicemails trying to find out where they discharged my elderly mother at. When Celeste finally answered her phone and I told her who i was, she laughed and said I needed to speak to Medical records. I have left voicemails with medical records to call me and nobody returns phone calls. One nurse said Good Luck finding your mother.

Unfortunately at this point, I honestly feel like they are holding our family member hostage when we have already requested a safe transport to another hospital that our family member can actually heal in a safer environment. When we call and give give them all the information we need, they say they're going to go do it.. and then they don't. We just confirmed today they said they faxed over the file to the new hosptial but then when we call back, we get a different story that they were discussing the case with the team. Our family member does not feel safe to transfer to a different hospital and at Ocean's due to all the screaming and fighting at night and there are no activities. We've been advocating since last week to get him out of there and still no movement at all. Thank goodness HCA has been patient with us as we've been trying to push for somebody to take action to send over the orders. Im adjusting my review because I did get a call tonight..which I sincerely do appreciate. I hope they stick to their word tommow. Will follow up with an update. But until the paperwork is sent over to HCA, and a decision is made... I will keep this review up.

The owner should be ashamed of himself with all these bad reviews he needs to get rid of all the people that don't care to help the patients or close it down, even down here in Victoria we hear all the negative comments. I have a question is the owner only concerned about getting paid because it sure as hell seems like he doesn't give a damn.

DO NOT come to this hospital! After 1 week my 90 year old confused mother was discharged without the staff informing the family. I only spoke to her psychiatrist once and he told me she would be there 10-14 days. Communication from the nursing staff was difficult at best with very minimal information. I can not get in touch with anyone to find out why and how this happened. I have never had such a poor experience with a healthcare facility asi have with Oceans. I would give zero stars but you have to choose at least one to post.

The staff at this location has not been forthcoming with proper information about visitation rules. I was lied to about wheelchair accessibility and who all is allowed to visit patients within their care. Either they need new staff or they need to take a deep look at their employees and their action while they work. This many one star reviews? The owner of this location needs to take a serious look into what is going here.
