The only reason I give one star is because there's no option for ZERO! This place is terrible! It needs to be investigated and taken over by the state or completely shut down.
The female staff Nurses & Techs with the accepting of maybe 2, are by far pitiful. They are lazy. They don't want to do anything that makes them have to move. It takes for a patient to start yelling and having behaviors for them to move and thats so attention isn't drawn to their lack of engagement with the patients. They ignore you, treat you like scum and talk down to you as of They are superior to you. They have no idea what it means to protect the dignity and respect of the patients. They wear gloves all day long, wearing the same gloves from patient to patient, room to room. Thats cross contamination. That says alot about what they think about their work environment and patients. The facility doesnt provide an alternative way for patients to practice safe hygiene and hand-washing. So everybody is walking around and eating with unclean hands. When you ask for hand sanitizer or soap they send around from person to person until you get on one of their nerves long enough and then they help.
The male staff is A1!!!! They work hard from the time the clock in until they clock out. They treat the patients kind and like humans. They engage and have real conversations with us. They NEED to receive an appropriate raise and promotion!
Overall, this program is trash. The patients are intentionally neglected, ignored, and treated way less than poorly.

I had to come to Oceans after being dismissed and then attacked and gravely wounded by another patient at another facility. Transferred major surgery at regular hospital then sent to Oceans Katy for wound care supposedly. Almost died. They wouldn't give me my regular meds so I didn't sleep every ten minutes some horrible tech would kick the door open because she was angry I reported her for telling me I'm going to wind up dead in the street with nothing .Smelled like crap and piss took them 45 minutes to pass out food trays for 18 people.Violent patients and almost zero activities .Thank God the doctor did a real
xam after five days of torture

TL;DR: This place is dangerous and unethical. I was forced to remain there under fabricated documentation despite being stable and competent. I went in voluntarily for PTSD, anxiety, and possible postpartum depression and left with worse PTSD. I witnessed staff negligence, patient abuse, and lies from both the doctor and patient advocate. Another hospital later confirmed I do NOT have bipolar disorder and treated me appropriately. Full details follow.
Please for the love of God and all things holy if you care about someone needing mental health help, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!! I went voluntarily but was told if I tried to leave, they’d call the cops.
This place feels like an insurance scam: patients with Medicaid/Medicare/VA stayed 14–21+ days, while uninsured or limited coverage patients left in 5–7 days (I noted this from armband admit dates).
The intake nurse fabricated statements, even documenting that I said my son “transformed into a demon,” which I never said and denied four separate times when she tried to trick me into agreeing with her narrative.
I saw shocking neglect: a staff member assaulting a confused patient, and another patient left sitting in feces for over 4 hours despite repeated alerts to staff.
Dr. Zaidi dismissed my PTSD (even though I receive disability for it), claimed I had bipolar II, refused my 4-hour discharge letter, and filed a Certificate of Medical Examination falsely stating I was psychotic, dangerous, incompetent, and would deteriorate—despite me helping staff, denying suicidal/homicidal ideation, reporting no hallucinations, and being deemed competent by their own therapist.
The patient advocate lied in her affidavit, stating my family thought I was unsafe for discharge, even though my mother told her repeatedly that I was stable and only struggling with sleep deprivation and caregiver burnout due to my medically complex infant.
When I asked staff to explain the doctor’s claims, no one—including Zaidi—could answer. I was only told, “It’s a liability if I let you leave” and “You must take medication if you want out.” Zaidi prescribed an anticonvulsant as a “mood stabilizer” and refused to change hydroxyzine or buspirone despite my documented adverse reactions.
After my mom arranged a transfer to another hospital, Oceans delayed labs for 24+ hours. The constable arrived for my transfer but paperwork was missing because staff didn’t know what an MOT was. The advocate even stated, “We don’t do lateral transfers, so I didn’t know about the MOT,” despite discussing it with me the day prior.
While the constable was present, I mentioned I never received my court papers. He said they likely put them in my chart (illegal). Minutes later, staff handed me the documents, dated incorrectly. My court-appointed attorney waived my probable cause hearing, assuming I’d be transferred, but Oceans delayed it a total of 4 days.
At the new hospital, I was told I did NOT have bipolar disorder, but postpartum depression compounded by PTSD and anxiety. They started proper medication, and my symptoms rapidly improved.
Meanwhile, Oceans staff frequently refused help (“Not my job”), ignored self-harm risks, left patients without clean water, and neglected diapered patients.
This facility operates in chaos, manipulates documentation, delays transfers, and treats patients as liabilities—not people.

When there would be 0 stars they would get that.
Very unprofessional .
The people who work there are rude and and don’t care about the patient safety.
Took me a whole week to finally get Some information.
Everytime I called to get a hold of a patient I ether get put on hold for 10+ minutes or they hang up on you.
When you can go ANYWHERE else but there .

Terrible customer service.
I called requesting a certain document and got bounced around to several telephone extensions and every person I spoke with said “I don’t do that” and transferred me without asking me to hold etc. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were not available at this time. Do better Oceans of Katy! Your employee’s are the face of your business and from the experience I just had I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This place is not fit to take care of your loved one. My mom was brought in on a court order for 72 hour hold it’s day two and it’s already a damn mess. I want my mom of here so bad. They don’t truly care about the patient and hardly are available to answer your questions. My mom wasn’t given her meds as she should have been and I’ve had to constantly call. Sick of this place and want her out.

Was left in wheelchair when he was used to walking with a walker, had to wear diaper due to bathrooms always full . Nurses would not answer questions would transfer call that no one would pick up or return voicemails. Husband came out two weeks later looking horrible and with bruises on back. I was a patient here and it took me nearly a year of in-depth therapy to get to a healthy place to be able to write this review.
You can easily search online and find that within the last year this specific location has been fined for many of the issues pointed out in multiple reviews.
This place is hell on earth and it should be shut down immediately.
Dr. Z has no interest in your physical or mental well-being and he will do whatever it takes to get the absolute maximum payout from your insurance company.
I checked in on a VOLUNTARY basis due to unforeseen trauma in my life that led to a hospitalization.
I should have been legally allowed to leave after the 72-hour mark — as I checked in on a VOLUNTARY basis and I begged to leave every chance I could.
I knew within hours of my arrival that this place was going to be more harmful to me than helpful.
They make all of the promises that you need to hear when you are signing the paperwork to check in, but once that door closes, you are literally in a living nightmare.
Please know your rights before you are lied to and held against your will.
It was not until after I left that I got to see the lies that Dr. Z documented about me.
Dr. Z “diagnosed” me as being bi-polar within the first conversation that we ever had.
I was so traumatized from just one day here and then I was held for a full week against my will.
I begged to leave every single day and Dr. Z repeatedly and aggressively screamed in my face, slammed his fists down on his desk and threatened to have a court order mandate that I stay.
He told me that he would keep me there for a full month if he "wanted" to.
After being held for a week against my will- I was advised by the office representative that my insurance company was no longer paying for my care and that I would be responsible for the cost of my care beyond my stay of 72 hours.
When I advised that I would be contacting my insurance company to dispute this- as I requested to leave every single day - the bill magically just went away.
I was also released within hours of this billing conversation.
I have since made a full recovery with proper therapy and finding healthy support system to process the trauma from Oceans.
The “therapy” was a joke. Their best attempt at providing care was when I was given crayons and word search puzzles.
Please know that this is facility specializes in geriatric care which understandably requires specialized needs as well.
The staff were inhumane in how they treated elderly patients- patients were left unattended and were rarely given assistance when it came to meals and meeting their most basic human needs.
The staff never cleaned up any soiled areas. The seats in the common rooms were constantly soiled in human waste.
You could not sit anywhere without fear of sitting in blood, and urine and feces.
I also witnessed a staff member and a patient get into a physical altercation without any repercussion.
This place is an absolute danger to patients - All patients are in the same area with no separation between genders, age or severity of their own situation.
I had men walking into my room (including the very inappropriate male staff members) at all hours of the night.
The staff were downright cruel and showed minimal human compassion.
There was an elderly man with memory issues, that kept looking for his deceased wife and the staff would laugh at him and call him inappropriate names.
The staff would leave patients on the floor in their own waste without proper care.
I witnessed staff members laughing at an elderly gentleman that had fallen which caused a cut on his leg to bleed and they just left him there on a mat without care.
They put my life at risk as I was placed on so many medications that it took me months to balance everything out.
My physician was shocked that they would put me on such a dangerous combination that could have easily led to serotonin syndrome.
If you have any compassion for your loved one or for yourself- please do not go anywhere near this place.

I BEG YOU, DO NOT EVER let your loved one go to this place. Absolutely horrid and pathetic. It is nothing but a cash cow and at best, Adult Day Care. Every time we went to visit the rules were different ie: how many can go in, cell phones ok; cell phones not ok.. can bring food in, can't bring food in. Staff poorly trained but don't blame them, know they're not paid squat....ZERO Management was EVER present. Left numerous messages trying to talk to the so called Doctor and NEVER received a call back. If it was possible I'd give them 0 Stars. DO NOT let your family member go here if at all possible

I was a hostage in this “so called hospital” for 10 days. I give this “prison disguised as a hospital” ZERO STARS. Upon arriving, I was immediately blasted in the face by the strong smell of URINE and POOP. It was 2:00 am when arrived, being transferred from a regular medical hospital, there were people just wandering around I the middle of the night. After paperwork I went straight to bed, locked the door to sleep. The next morning I was frightened and disgusted with what I saw. One big stinky, dirty room with lots of patients (with not much supervision) stumbling aimlessly around or sitting in wheelchairs alone, some drooling, all unkempt. There was no TV for my entire 10 day stay, I was told it was broken. No games to play, no music…nothing, just sit there and watch patients fight. There was “group therapy” which consisted of coloring with crayons and “therapists” handing out children’s musical instruments (tambourines and rattles)…causing a major headache! I couldn’t bring a cell phone or iPad and had to go to the nurses station and ask to make a call, then give them a phone number to dial and they would pass you the phone on a wire through a small hole in the plexiglass. They never cleaned, wiped or sanitized the phone receiver between patients calls. It disgusted me to touch it and put it near my mouth but I had no choice if I wanted to call home. I changed the diapers and pants for two of my older friends, (I’m 72) giving them my own clean clothes. The floors in the entire facility were filthy with sticky dried urine, I never saw them wash the floors or wipe down the tables before or after meals. I had to check the plastic chairs before I sat because often they would have “some kind” of fluid on them. No soap in the bathrooms. The The men and woman (about 45 patients)were mixed together in one big group area and I saw 4 women strip naked. One of the frequent “strippers” (J.E.) was constantly hanging on and stroking the men’s hair and faces. These men were victims, unwelcoming to her advances. She hated the women, screamed and cursing in their faces and sometimes hitting them. Occasionally they would put a stack of drinking cups on the counter but they disappeared quickly. The only fluids they supplied were half filled cup of juice, tea or a carton of milk with meals. Not nearly enough fluids to sustain a human. There were no cups or drinking water available 90% of the time and no hand sanitizer. No towels or wash clothes without begging for one, then just waiting. Techs burst into my room in the morning at FIVE AM yelling “Get up…get up”. Breakfast was not until 8am. They wanted us out of the rooms so they could empty trash and check our shelf to see if there was anything we shouldn’t have. The Tech took my body/hair wash, deodorant , hand lotion and comb. Luckily I had hidden my tooth brush and paste. I was constantly seeing people in wheel chairs calling out for help to be taken to the rest room, many already sitting in pooped and peed diapers, hence the constant disgusting smell of the place. My roommate waited 5 days for a toothbrush and toothpaste. My husband brought them for her when he visited. I saw a tech staff shove a 85 year old woman with Alzheimer’s…then grab away a roll of paper towels from her. When you would ask for anything they said “Go sit down” or “Go ask her” or just ignore you. Several times I had to ask for my meds because they forgot about me. The sheets on the beds had holes in them. On day 7 I got a new roommate, twice she got up in the middle of the night and touched my face! I discovered tiny red bug bites all over my lower chest and abdomen. Yes, I had become a host for BED BUGS! 🪳🪳🪳 Well today I finally was released 10 long horrible days and sleepless nights, I am exhausted…I was there for depression and anxiety which got no better there. I talked to Laura H, a Physicians Assistant 3 times and NEVER SAW A DOCTOR!!! When I signed out I was informed that I owed them a $350 co-pay, I said “send me a bill”… 😂😂😂 BEWARE…THIS HELLHOLE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED 👎🏻
