Whenever anyone has a car problem I tell them to go here. Fred is the owner, he's apparently in his 70s but looks much younger. He's the most honest mechanic I've met in Texas. I sent my wife over when I was too busy because another shop said she needed to replace brake pads, he took the tires off, inspected, showed my wife they were fine, and just charged for a 1/2 hour inspection. And his hourly rate is probably the best in town. If he can't work on your car (he heavily favors domestic ones) he'll tell you before charging anything. Like if he doesn't have the right tools because you have a car that requires them he will just tell you upfront.
Excellent service and fair pricing. The owner Fred is a dying breed of honest mechanic that doesn't take advantage of people. He explains everything that was done in great detail. A true gem!

I have to change the number of stars from 5 to 2. It was not a good experience at all . I have used this Shop several times . The last time , a couple of weeks ago , the alternator was replaced and the car was still having a starting problem . I came back in order to check the battery and alternator, it was on the warranty. I stated that I would like to fix the car , it had starting problem , and Mechanic scanned car computer for the check engine code . After that , he recommended to replace one part and suggested to buy a part directly from the dealership. When I got to the dealership, I was told that it takes 2 weeks to deliver the part. Then I gave him a call and he started complaining and arguing with me . He made me feel that I owe him something and that the time was invested . He didn’t respect my decision to fix the car at another time and possibly somewhere else . Next time he needs to give price prior diagnostics and charge for the diagnostics instead of making customer feel obligated to have a repair done at his shop . I DO not like those surprises! I also didn’t like how he talked to me in the past . He likes to argue and can make you feel like you are dumb . He needs to take into consideration the fact that not everyone does mechanical work for living . I will never return to this job , can’t stand bad attitude. The Bad attitude is like a flat tire , you can’t go anywhere unless you fix it . I do not recommend this shop at all. Update : November 3rd 2024. This mechanic put a part from the junk yard staying it’s new . It’s obvious that the alternator is not new , second hand part and it’s already failed and I was charged for the price of new one . The part has numbers on it .
