I've always had good experiences at this ER. Tonight was different. Went in with swelling and pain in my ankle and foot. The male nurse and his sparky comments were rude and unnecessary. First he told me smoking was bad for me and he could smell it on me. I apologized and agreed it's bad to smoke. Later he asked me to sit in a recliner in the hallway and didn't even wait for me as I was walking slowly from ankle pain. As I was waiting for the dr to come I put the foot rest up on the recliner to elevate my leg. He walked by and made a comment " I see you're making yourself comfortable ". I didn't respond and put the footrest down. The dr and other staff were all professionals. Not sure why this nurse took out his bad day on me. I am a good patient. I just sit and wait patiently and follow instructions by staff. I don't complain as I understand they have stressful jobs.

I went into the ER with stomach pains and found out I needed my appendix removed asap, so I was admitted to the hospital and Dr Uffort was the general surgeon there that day, and let me tell you he was great. Very informative as to what was gonna happen during and after surgery. His medical team from the Er room, to the surgery room, down to the recovery room were all excellent. They were all very attentive, kind and very caring. I hope I never have to go to an ER or hospital again but if I do I will definitely come back here.

Please rehire staff now or retrain. Even with manager present they were extremely disrespectful and I am in shock how bad the service was just now !

Beyond poor care. They denied my transfer chart for care just because im a diabetic !!! I have great insurance and wanted to pay for the rest of my care upfront. Between them and UTMB are terrible. Im so unhappy at this point. Don't say your a high risk hospital when you don't take high risk patients!!!!

My mom got seen right away and everyone did an excellent job of explaining everything as they were going. They were kind and gentle with her when she wasn't feeling her best. Thank you so much. It really means a lot when you're worried about your family member.

It’s an okay hospital. Some nurses are so nice and respectful. Sammy was the nurse we did not like. She has an ugly attitude and shows it all over her face. She treated my brother bad. And he remembers everything about her. And some nurses looked very young and didn’t seem to know much. They gave my brother a pill that I specifically told Brice not to give him. This alone makes me upset. I can only imagine how they treat the elderly patients. I will never see this hospital again. Smh
