Very Disappointing Experience

We had appointments at 6:00 PM, but the MRI wasn’t done until 10:00 PM. The whole family waited outside for hours with no updates or communication from the staff. We kept asking for information, but all they said was that they didn’t know what was happening on the MRI side. It was completely disorganized and unprofessional. We had no idea what was going on the entire time. Very frustrating experience.

My Partner and I recently just visited the ER here and the service was absolute garbage.
The staff were incredibly rude, and impatient.

My partner explained that she wasn’t comfortable with needles, the nurse asked what arm she would like it in and my partner stated that she would prefer it in her right arm. The nurse than stated “The left one is perfectly fine so i’m going to go for the left arm” after my partner explained she’d prefer it in the right arm multiple times.
What’s the point in asking which arm a patient prefers if you are going to go against what they are comfortable with? Especially if they haven’t even flicked the arm or tested the veins?
The Female Nurse also stated “That it should be fine as your skin is see through” i’m sorry, but in what case does this make any sense??

My partner asked a question as she was told they might not be able to help her and where she should go to seek further medical assistance, which the same Female Nurse replied with “That’s above my pay grade. I only work here to prevent loss of limbs and death”.

In what world is that okay?? I understand when things are above your pay grade, but merely helping out a patient isn’t. No one with a mindset like that should be working in a hospital. Every patient should be treated equally and with proper amounts of empathy and compassion.

The last part I want to state is the treatment from one of the Male Nurses.
Once my Partner was ready to be discharged, she needed her IV catheter taken out. The Male nurse that approached her, squatted down to her and proceeded to roughly rip off the tape and tegaderm.
He then ripped out the IV Catherter and threw it in the trash in a hurry.

Where did the patience go?? Aren’t you supposed to be carefully taking out such sensitive material? Especially needles?

It has left her arm whelped and swollen.
Won’t be coming back again. Your staff need to do better. Get some rest and come back with a better attitude. No one like those impatient, rude people should be working in healthcare.

Would give a 0 if possible but i guess a 1 will do.
Don’t recommend people for people who have hospital anxiety, troubles with needles or anxiety in general. Not a pleasant place.

I believe the ladies name was heitite m. She was at the front desk with black hair. She was extremely rude. I came here as my mom wasn’t feeling okay and she was very condescending and seemed even annoyed. You would think for a hospital the people are supposed to be caring and nice but she was the exact opposite. Don’t go here

8 hours wasted with this place. They will gouge you on everything. I had insurance and they charged me 5k for 1 single lower back xray and 5x hydrocodone 5mg prescription I had to pay extra for which didn't even work. They also sat me in a chair left me for 6 hours with only a single cup of water. What kind of business are yall running. What's the 5k for? Am I putting a down payment on your 20k xray machines? If so then where's my xray machine. No way does it cost that much for a simple xray. I could get 20 full body xrays in australia for under 1000 without insurance so what's the go?

I been going to this urgent care for years. Never experienced horrible care until these last couple of weeks. This head nurse Akosua was so rude to me . Even tried to tell me how I was feeling. Had IV sitting in my hand hurting while she was just sitting at desk looking at her phone.!I had to literally walk to desk bc I pressed the nurse button numerous of times and she didn’t care…. Please get the old nurses that care back!

This review is for a older experience, nearly from 2 years ago but it’s bothered me for quite some time. Roughly two years ago, in December I came in with extremely bad back/abdominal pain. I sat in the back for at least 2-3 hours, nurses coming in occasionally, I saw the Dr treating me and diagnosing me one time and then saw the director or the chief for my diagnosis. While I was with the first Dr I explained all of my issues and mentioned how I thought the problem was my gallbladder, I was expecting him to at least double check to give me more certainty that it wasn’t my gallbladder but he promptly said gallbladder was not the issue. No more said on it and I went on with the visit, at this point I’m back in the lobby as it was getting busy and I was waiting for my final diagnosis. As I mentioned it was a director or chief someone of that nature that gave me the diagnosis, I was told my issue was inflamed rib cartilage, and my course of treatment was to rest and take ibuprofen. Instead of maybe questioning what was causing the inflamed rib cartilage I was sent home and not properly taken care of. Fast forward a whole month and a half, the pain has not gone away, ibuprofen did not help, the pain gets extreme again and by this point I can’t sit still, I’m crying, trying to use the hottest water from the shower to help the pain, none of this works and I decide to go to UTMB. Within minutes of being at UTMB they state several times it sounds like my gallbladder. They immediately knew, my symptoms were exactly the same between methodist and UTMB, the pain was just worse for UTMB, my blood panel at both hospitals showed the signs of my gallbladder having issues, I went over the the results of both test and my levels weren’t super elevated at methodist but I was still clearly able to pick out the indicators of my gallbladder, when apparently the doctors couldn’t. UTMB did a sonogram and MRI to conclude the issue was my gallbladder, the MRI showed that my gallbladder was full of gallstones and I had a gallstone stuck in my bile duct. They thankfully took care of my issue swiftly when it should’ve been caught at the first hospital visit. I went through weeks of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced, had to go through my birthday in pain and then recover from surgery right after my birthday. From early December to late January I was stuck in pain because of the lack of attention, or the lack of care I’m not sure, from methodist. UTMB had me admitted and scheduled for surgery within 5 hours. Methodist sent me home in pain without a real diagnosis.

I've always had good experiences at this ER. Tonight was different. Went in with swelling and pain in my ankle and foot. The male nurse and his sparky comments were rude and unnecessary. First he told me smoking was bad for me and he could smell it on me. I apologized and agreed it's bad to smoke. Later he asked me to sit in a recliner in the hallway and didn't even wait for me as I was walking slowly from ankle pain. As I was waiting for the dr to come I put the foot rest up on the recliner to elevate my leg. He walked by and made a comment " I see you're making yourself comfortable ". I didn't respond and put the footrest down. The dr and other staff were all professionals. Not sure why this nurse took out his bad day on me. I am a good patient. I just sit and wait patiently and follow instructions by staff. I don't complain as I understand they have stressful jobs.

Beyond poor care. They denied my transfer chart for care just because im a diabetic !!! I have great insurance and wanted to pay for the rest of my care upfront. Between them and UTMB are terrible. Im so unhappy at this point. Don't say your a high risk hospital when you don't take high risk patients!!!!
