My experience at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center was one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating experiences my family has ever endured. While there were about three doctors who were transparent and compassionate, and a handful of nurses who genuinely cared, the majority of the staff made us feel like the focus was more on money, bed turnover, and hospital policies than the actual well-being of patients.
My mother spent 24 days in the NSICU after suffering a brain injury. On the very first night, I was told that the hospital “does not call family members overnight.” Later, I discovered that this was not true. My mother allegedly went nearly 8 hours without consent being obtained or timely care that could have potentially impacted her cognitive outcome. That realization is something our family will never forget.
Medicare and medicaid just know they DO NOT TURN THEIR PATIENTS REGULARLY!!!!!!!
There were also serious concerns about basic patient care. At one point, it took approximately two hours for staff to change my mother after a bowel movement. Many times when I searched for nurses, they were engaged in non-work-related conversations while patients were left waiting for assistance.
Things became even worse after she was transferred to the step-down ICU. Her room was dirty, flooding at one point, and the care felt extremely neglectful. Nurses repeatedly used straight catheterization instead of taking the time to walk her to the restroom located inside her room. Considering she was recovering from a brain injury, it was deeply upsetting to see so little effort made to preserve her dignity or encourage mobility and rehabilitation. There was also little assistance provided with feeding her, despite her condition clearly requiring attentive support.
Communication between doctors was disorganized and inconsistent. No one seemed to be on the same page regarding her treatment plan or discharge process. What upset us most was being repeatedly told there were “no rehab beds available,” causing delays in her transfer. After contacting the rehabilitation facility ourselves, we were informed that beds were in fact available and they were simply waiting on the hospital and physical therapy to release her. That dishonesty added unnecessary stress to an already traumatic situation.
Social workers or case managers changed daily so you never knew who you were dealing with. One specifically told me she did not know much and would have to consult with her manager. She told me being that I was upset she would call patient relations to speak with me. Then turned around and called me twice im guessing adding my number to another patients chart which violated PHI on another patient.
Hospitals should prioritize compassion, communication, dignity, and patient-centered care. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling unheard, misled, and deeply disappointed. I hope this review encourages accountability and changes that improve how patients and families are treated during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

If I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS I would! I am writing to formally express my grave concerns and profound dissatisfaction regarding the care I received at your facility following a severe motorcycle accident on may 4th 2026 at approximately 7 PM. My experience during the ensuing 12 hours was deeply distressing and, in my opinion, fell far below acceptable standards of medical care.
Upon my admission, I immediately faced challenges in receiving basic necessities. My personal belongings, including shoes, were lost in the accident, and despite requesting socks, these were not provided until I was being transferred to a non-clinical area within the facility.
More critically, my medical needs were severely neglected. Despite sustaining significant injuries, including burns and a pre-existing knee condition which I communicated, my wounds were not adequately cleaned or dressed during my entire stay. Furthermore, my severe pain was gravely undertreated; I received only one dose of pain medication (Norco) throughout this 12-hour period, leading to prolonged and intense suffering. Alarmingly, I remained without consultation from a physician for seven continuous hours. During this critical time, I was left unattended in a hallway, experiencing excruciating pain, which further compounded my distress.
The disregard for my injuries was also evident in the handling of my person; at one point, a blanket was abruptly removed, causing an unnecessary exacerbation of my burn pain. My transfer to the lobby occurred with my wounds inadequately dressed, utilizing only partial bandages, which raised significant concerns about infection risk and proper medical care.
When I requested to speak with a supervisor regarding these issues, a charge nurse was dispatched. While she offered an apology and inquired about redressing my wounds, her response felt dismissive and did not adequately address the severe lapses in care I had experienced.
As a woman of color with comprehensive insurance coverage, this experience has regrettably led me to question whether the standard of care I received was influenced by factors unrelated to my medical needs. This is not the first instance where I have felt my treatment was potentially biased, and it underscores a deeply troubling pattern within the healthcare system.
The events of that night not only caused me immense physical and emotional suffering but also reopened profound personal trauma, including the painful memory of losing my son due to systemic healthcare deficiencies. I am resolute in my determination to seek accountability and ensure that such egregious oversights are thoroughly investigated. I believe the healthcare system too often overlooks the needs of vulnerable patients, and I refuse to let this incident be another unaddressed instance of injustice.

This location was the most unprofessional group of nurses and doctors we have ever dealt with. My father went through so much and a lot of it was unnecessary. My father was a DNR and a DNI and they performed both. My father was in the ICU and I called up to speak to his nurse to see how he was doing and she informed me that She only spoke to one family member and she already spoke to my brother so if I needed to know anything I could contact him. Now I will say there were a couple of nurses. Samantha was one of them. She was very helpful and very sweet and Jody was the other. Both of those ladies were very very helpful. Anytime I called. They were more than willing to help but other than that, I really don’t have anything nice to say about the staff. And as far as the doctors, the ones that we dealt with, I feel like they were very unprofessional and I feel like they did a lot of things on my father that was unnecessary, including the DNR and the DNI that he had in place. My brother had to walk in to them doing CPR on my father. He said it was the most horrible thing he’s ever witnessed in his life that is something he will have to live with forever that image in his head and the sounds that my father‘s body was making it was unnecessary. He was a DNR. My father was Abel to shake his head yes And No, so he made it known that he wanted the life-saving tube to be taken out of his throat that should’ve never been put there in the first place because he was a DNI. My father went away peacefully on his own terms and that I am thankful for I am so angry for this hospital putting my father through all that unnecessary pain. I just hope and pray that no other family has to go through this. Please take your loved ones to another establishment where their wishes are noted and professional doctors and nurses are employed. Do not waste your time at this hospital.

The male doctor and nurse assistant are so RUDE here. They were not kind at all and did not make me comfortable. The Dr wanted to examine me and I said no thanks he then said he can’t treat me off of symptoms and to go see my primary care Dr. Mind you no one offered me a female to examine me. They also asked me to sign a paper saying I refused service. I will not be paying this bill as proper care was not given. The receptionist were nice, that’s it. They also had my sister waiting an hour to get treated for flu symptoms when NO ONE ELSE was even there. Will never come back!

Just had a procedure done. My cardiologist and his team were/are amazing. Everything pre-op went great. But my stay at the hospital for 2 days were a joke. The rooms are shared. There is no peace or quiet to recover. There is zero privacy and family members can’t stay with their loved ones. Nurses speak about you in their language to other nurses while standing in front of you, while sleeping at night they blast you with the overhead lights without any regard, you call them and they take forever to come help you. The nurses assistants treated me better and with more kindness than the nurses and doctors. The doctors saw me once for 2 minutes. Will never go there again.

I have been trying relentlessly for over a month to get my medical records, today I am not one step closer I'm dealing with PTSD. Trying to get my medical records to prove my case military veteran and it is easier to go fight a war than it is to get them from memorial Hermann hospital.

Now I know why they have a 2.5 rating! Their ER sucks....big time! I came by ambulance. They took basic vitals and did bloodwork. Then they threw me into the waiting room. Again, I came by AMBULANCE!! And the pain is getting worse! I was told they would "let my nurse know"...that was 20 mins ago! Come here to die, not for help!

I was told to arrive by 6:30am for a procedure which I did, wasn't called up to the receptionist area until about 45 minutes later. Clerical staff is unprofessional, was told I had a $400 co-pay & when I requested for my co-pay to be billed to me later (as I usually do with no problems), I was told it needed to be paid right then and there or be neglected the medical procedure I was there for. When I questioned the legality of being neglected medical care due to payment, I was told that only "happens at hospitals, and they [Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kirby Glen] are not that."
The medical staff seems to be untrained when it comes to wheelchair bound individuals like myself and I was spoken to without much tact, which I think should be a basic requirement if you work in the medical field where you're expected to interact with (and care for) human beings.
Anyway, fast forward to today (3 weeks post-op), the EOB I received shows I was covered at 100% so I shouldn't have paid anything at the time of service. I have tried contacting the facility (tried ALL extensions on their automated menu) and NO ONE answers the phone. I found a general billing phone number for Memorial Hermann in which I was told by a representative that they don't have access to billing info for Memorial Hermann surgery centers and she didn't know who I should contact for assistance. This is unacceptable for any facility, let alone a medical facility, and if this is something that happens often, at least have an easier process for previous patients to process refund requests. I left a voicemail message in hopes of getting a call back and some resolution, but from the reviews I've read, voicemail messages are left unanswered.

I had a very disappointing inhumane experience with this cardiology office before even being seen by a provider. I called to confirm my appointment and share some concerns, but it was extremely difficult to get through—multiple calls were required just to speak with someone.
When I finally reached the receptionist (Thelma), the interaction was unprofessional and lacked basic empathy. She focused only on insurance information, even though I had already provided it multiple times, and became rude and raised her voice during the call. I remained calm, but the situation escalated unnecessarily.
I was then placed on hold for over 15 minutes and passed to another staff member, who was equally dismissive. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told none were available, and the call ended abruptly in a very unprofessional manner.
I now am having to take time out of my day and go to the facility in person to get the proper results and confirm my appointment as well as get all of the patient advocacy info and supervisors attention on this issue. This experience was stressful and concerning, especially for a medical office serving patients who may already be dealing with serious health issues. Professionalism, communication, and compassion should be a priority in a healthcare setting. I hope management takes steps to address these issues.

Warning, you will most likely get two bills, one from the facility and one from the physician, like the Cardiologist in our case. So it basically sounds like they rent out spot at the hospital and if they belong somewhere else, like UT Health, you are getting two bills. Also, the Cardiologist, Dr. Hasan was horrible, rude, bad bedside manner. Kept trying to insist on scheduling multiple extensive tests that required a specialty hospital visit. Something just seemed off about him to me and my wife so we went to a different doctor and cancelled all our appointments here. the other doctor diagnosed and verified her symptoms that didn't require all those procedures with a simple stress test he was able to do in the same initial consultation visit.
