I recently visited this emergency room, and while I appreciate the medical care I received, I was very disappointed by how my privacy and dignity were handled.
During my evaluation, I was asked to change into a gown and have an EKG performed. As the leads were being placed, my breast was fully exposed in front of multiple people in the room. I tried to cover myself with my hand, but my hand was moved away instead of allowing me to maintain some modesty. I even asked if I could remain covered as much as possible, but I felt my concerns were ignored.
I understand that an EKG requires access to the chest, and I have had several EKGs in the past. At other hospitals and medical offices, staff were able to place the leads while still keeping me covered as much as possible. That’s why this experience was so upsetting. It wasn’t the procedure itself it was how little effort seemed to be made to preserve my privacy.
There were multiple people in the room, including a man who appeared uncomfortable enough to step out. The entire experience left me feeling embarrassed, exposed, and violated.
Medical care and patient dignity should go hand in hand. A simple drape, towel, or taking a few extra seconds to cover areas that didn’t need to be exposed would have made a huge difference. I hope this feedback encourages staff to better respect patients’ privacy and communicate with them during sensitive exams so no one else has to leave feeling the way I did.

While I appreciate the nurses that got my husband immediately going due to his PAIN CRISIS FROM SICKLE CELL when we walked in, I don’t appreciate the emergency care doctor herself stating there’s no pain crisis due to labs, chest xray and CT scan looking great. Dr. Alacanter was quick to judge my husband and even did a drug test on him!!! HOW DARE SHE DO THAT!!!!! You are so quick to judge my husband who is literally in pain and you rushing him out the hospital. Of course we don’t wanna be there in your care. I will be doing a follow up about this incident. WENDY BROOKS ALACANTER NEEDS TO DO BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO SICKLE CELL PATINETS AND ANYONE ELSE THAT DOESNT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT. Go back to class and learn more. It’s 2026- sickle cell isn’t based off labs and all that, just cause it’s clear doesn’t mean he’s not hurting. On the discharge paperwork, she didn’t put her name or signed the paperwork as if she was trying to hide her identity. I had to call the emergency line and ask for it. They didn’t even want to give her full name which we do have rights to it. Shoutout to the staff around 5:30AM that took him in immediately and UNDERSTOOD what he was going through.

My cousin was a patient there for a week, she had to have emergency spinal surgery. She had surgery Wednesday and the following Monday they were talking about discharge. There was a confusion with her insurance that they were too dumb to call and confirm, she was fully covered, she needed to be released to a rehabilitation center, the social workers cousins one because they kept saying she wasn’t covered. That Tuesday I called her insurance company and we called the rehab and gave them all the info they needed, they said it would take 72 hours to approve everything. Well the hospital called there ambulance service and kicked her out on Tuesday, had there service to take her home, no walker, no wheelchair, no bed pads, adult diapers and no explanation of follow up care because THEY SAID SHE WAS NOT INSURED. The discharge nurses were very rude and uncaring. IT WAS HORRIBLE

My aunt was admitted from the er at 2 in the morning. They felt it was a good time to do a teleconference to get her info. And, the nurse is very hard to understand. Not a good experience

Was going to put only 1 star but gave an extra star because of the few staff here that are amazing. The rest have very calloused behaviors and poor bedside manner. I get it's just a job to some of you but these are peoples loved ones and hearing/seeing the mistreatment makes an already tuff situation worse. Be a better person or find another job, it's that simple.

Don’t get admitted to a room at the end of the hallway. Sometimes you get “forgotten” about. While getting wheelchaired to the room the lady mentioned the ac is not working and has not been and that was the reason for the big air machines. Once arriving in room, the AC still didn’t work. It was warm immediately. They claimed they were going to get maintenance to come look at it. They never came. During second visit within a few weeks, a different room didn’t have AC either. Had to bring my own fan. Same thing, they were going to let maintenance know. Seems like a hospital facility would have a functioning ac/heater system repaired and in working condition within a few weeks time. The chair in the room didn’t work properly either. Nurse and care staff were great.

My gallbladder pain ended up being a Month long hospital stay. I went in for pain and was admitted, the team on my case was great and they did what they could. I ended up needing surgery. Spent a whole night sick to my stomach and vomiting every 2 min for a total of 24 hours. Nurses reached out to the Drs but they didn’t want to give me anything cause I was scheduled for surgery. Ended up making it to surgery. Never met my surgeon nor did they come check on me. Ended up with complications and infections. And to this day still don’t exactly know what happened to me.
That being said, My nurses, house keeping, and Chaplin, and some of the drs were amazing and they really did take care of me and made me feel valued and cared for. I’m forever thankful for them and I will never forget those kind souls who cared for me when I was violently ill.
