Mom is here after suffering from a major stroke.

The nurse and nurse assistants are terrible. My mom is not able to change herself and when we ask them to help change my mom, they take over 2 hours and have an attitude every single time.

My mom is also not fully able to feed herself and if none of use are there, they just leave the patient with the tray in front of them thinking they can eat on their own. Walked in and my mom had food all over herself crying because no one was helping her.

Absolute horrible nursing staff. Do not recommend this place at all and very unprofessional.

My grandmother recently stayed at PAM Rehab for short-term rehabilitation, and our family had a great experience. Lizzie was so much help fetting her i to the doors!! The staff was caring, professional, and treated her with kindness and respect throughout her stay. Her therapy team was knowledgeable, encouraging, and helped her regain strength and confidence every day.

The nurses and caregivers were attentive to her needs, and the communication with our family was excellent. It was reassuring to know she was in good hands during her recovery.

We're grateful to everyone at PAM Rehab for the compassion and dedication they showed. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality inpatient rehabilitation for themselves or a loved one.

Update: at the time of this posting nearly 2 weeks later, no one has returned my calls as I had left messages for the number they asked me to call, Ryan I think, from the reply posted after my message. I also haven’t heard from messages to Melissa, quality control at the rehabilitation Hospital, or the CEO both of whom I left messages for. The doctor that didn’t prescribe all the medication that was going to follow up. Never followed up and never prescribed the medication he said he was going to do. Overall, follow up on legitimate concerns has been not existent.

If I could give this facility zero stars, I would.

This was my mother’s second stay at PAM South following her hip replacement, and unfortunately, the experience was even more disappointing than the first. While the therapy staff did an excellent job when they actually worked with her, the overall communication, coordination, and patient care were unacceptable.

The primary reason for an inpatient rehabilitation stay is to receive intensive therapy. Instead, my mother spent the majority of her time sitting alone in her room. From Friday through Sunday, she received only about two hours of therapy total. To make matters worse, her case manager scheduled an off-campus physician appointment but failed to communicate it with the therapy department. Therapy was scheduled at the exact same time as her appointment, creating a conflict that should never have happened.

Despite receiving such limited therapy, staff wanted to extend her stay by another two weeks. It is difficult to justify extending an inpatient rehabilitation stay when the patient is not consistently receiving the therapy that is the entire purpose of being there.

There were also significant concerns regarding nursing care and responsiveness. My mother had difficulty seeing the standard call button, and it was only after I repeatedly insisted that she was provided with a larger, soft-touch call button. Even then, when she pressed it to request medication, someone simply turned the call light off without ever responding. More than 20 minutes passed before I had to walk to the front desk and request the charge nurse myself.

Today, on what should have been one of her final opportunities to continue progressing, she was scheduled for even less therapy. I was then informed that she would receive no therapy at all on her final day before discharge. Instead, she was required to remain in the hospital overnight solely to be discharged the following morning. I spoke with the therapy scheduler at 7:41 a.m. and specifically requested that a message be sent to both the case manager and the administrator because I wanted to discuss these concerns before discharge. After hearing nothing all day, I called again around 4:22 p.m. and was sent directly to voicemail. No one returned my call.

From a family’s perspective, this gives the appearance that another day is being billed to insurance while the patient receives no therapeutic benefit. Whether or not that is the intent, it is certainly how the situation appears when a patient is kept overnight without therapy and leadership is unavailable to address legitimate concerns.

The lack of communication between departments, poor coordination of care, delayed responses to patient needs, and inability to reach leadership demonstrate systemic issues that need immediate attention. Patients and their families deserve better.

I want to be clear that the therapists themselves were professional, compassionate, and effective. They were the bright spot of this experience. Unfortunately, the administrative failures surrounding their work overshadowed the quality of therapy my mother received.

I sincerely hope the Administrator or CEO will contact me before my mother leaves. Families place their trust in this facility during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Based on our experience, that trust was not earned.

I highly recommend Pam South for any patients who are in seek of quadriplegic care and recovery.
My stay at Pam South made my goals in my rehabilitation very sustainable. The staff at Pam South go above and beyond in ensuring that every day is met with care and attentiveness.
The nurse technicians and the nurses make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable in your stay.
The occupational and physical therapists at Pam South are above exceptional. They tailor your treatments to your capabilities. They work collectively to provide the best workspace for your treatments and always make sure you are on the right path to your physical recovery.
So many therapist work with me and I'm so appreciative of them Beth and Ashlyn in particular. Irma in the front desk was beyond helpful. Desiree, nurse Nelly, Stacy, Kim, Rhonda, Angela, Kimberlyn, Sammy, Veral, Cassie, Felicia, and there's so many people I am missing but they all made a huge impact on one of my many steps in recovery. Also the front desk Allison, Kristen, Sparda, Alex, and everyone who helped me I am very appreciative.

I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for quadriplegic recovery.
Their facilities meet your expectations and the staff give top-tier care.

I was admitted in PAM Health Inpatient Rehab, Sugar Land on June 26th after a surgery on my right leg. Thanks to the coordinator Jesus for arranging a WC Van transportation from my hospital in the Medical Center. After admission, I received very prompt attention from Munira (RN)
Dr. Vinny (Respiratory therapist), and Phil (signing paperwork).

I promptly got my PT evaluation (therapist Abid) and OT evaluation (therapist Jerry) on Saturday morning and Jerry proactively asked and gave me a shower (covering my bandaged right leg in a plastic bag and taping it to prevent water from getting in). It felt so good to get a refreshing shower after five days 👍 over the next 11 days of stay I received shower four times from Sammy and Michelle.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience during my stay from everyone I came across in the facility: the RNs and Assistants, therapists (both PT and OT), Dr. Purohit and his PA Jennifer (answering all my questions and concerns, most importantly writing an order for an podiatrist to come and cut my toenails day before my discharge).

Thanks to all those who helped my stay be as happy and peaceful and improve my recovery to be able to go home as functionally “independent” just two weeks after the surgery. Most of them have become very good friends and I will try to meet them after starting my Outpatient therapy in PAM (hopefully) next week. I have included their names below and ask for forgiveness if I forget one or two.
RN: Nnenna, Suzanne, Chris, Joseph, Donald, Selome, Brenda, Keonna, Eva, Joy, Roshni, Patricia, Chauncy
Aide (CNA): Margaret, Stella, Maria, Brittany, Marilyn, Stella, Brooke, Danielle.
Care Team: Linda
Therapy physician: Maulik Purohit
PA: Jennifer
Case Manager: Aisha
Psychiatrist: Dr. Washington
Dietitian: Laura

The following therapists not only helped me get better soon, but also meet or exceed all my goals, especially, climbing 16 steps (so I could climb the staircase in our house to take a shower).

PT: Nick, Kevin, Abid, Bradley, Ranish, Colleen, Henry, Jeff.
OT: Jerry, Joey, Sammy, Michelle, Maddi.
Therapy tech: Charles, Jenny.

Cafeteria: Danny for serving great food (and bringing ketchup whenever requested 😃).

I also want to thank the Director of therapy, Elyssa for giving me my last PT session yesterday, on the day of my discharge. Also, thanks to Patricia (RN) to complete the paperwork fast and helping my wife, Radhika carry my stuff and ensuring that I safely got into the front seat of our Lexus.

Please read all of the 1 star reviews! They almost killed my wife that is paralyzed and unable to regulate they body temperature or get her self out of bed with out a hoyer lift they confined her to a room with no air conditioning lighting hit ac unit night before lift her sleeping on a hollyer sling. All night long. That will cause bed sores .refused to take her to a room with ac 1 floor had ac and the lobby also refused to give her long acting insulin although they been giving it to her for the past week and she a type1 on insulin for 40 years also get her a sleep med the doctor had stopped because she becomes unresponsive they gave it to her a then had to call 911 to pick her up thaking 2 hospital admitted into ICU right away under dehydration
Heat stroke D.K. A. And unresponsive, if I had not showed up at the hospital, she would have laid there and been dead i would not recommend this location whatsoever. And if you do go there, I will watch the care of my loved one. I have placed my own personal camera in the room to see exactly what goes on there. Their internal investigation was a friggin' joke. First of all, they never talked to my wife and got her story. I personally showed the investigator a picture of my wife sleeping on the Hoyer sling and some of the videotapes that I had taken. Then, they sent a letter denied everything. Although we have pictures and videotapes of charge, nurses admitting to the a c going out, the nurse on duty admitted that she had stayed on a hoyer sling. All night long that she had pulled out.We also have pictures of that. And I have a video recording in the whole conversation since I was in there they also had a nurse with her personal cellphone videotaping, the whole time i was there because i was pissed at the condition of my wife that I also got video of her recording me which i'm sure is against hippa Violations the nurses they had on over this holiday weekend were unqualified to take care of a quadriplegic. Didn't know the proper. There's this methods of lifting a patient out of bed with a hoyer. Sling they almost dropped my wife. According to my son, that was standing there and told the nurse to stop before she dropped her. I will be willing to post any and all correspondence between myself and pam if anyone is interesting. I've also contacted the news and attorneys over all this and the Department of Health
