The Dr here seem to not care or rush you out the door. The hospital has gone down hill for years. Used to be called poly Ryan. Nickname killoryan. Has not got any better in the years. My wife went in with a very abscessed ear lobe. In a lot of pain. Dr came in for a few seconds only prescribed antibiotics not drain the ear. Decided to go Methodist on 59 the dr there said yes it needs to be drained. How Oakland of Richmond stays open or keeps their certification is beyond me

This hospital is so cheap. They won’t even provide pillows in the ER for sick patients to come in for comfort. They stick them on a hard cot you can’t even have a pillow. That tells me that this hospital is really that cheap and stingy with their money

Our experience at Oakbend Hospital in Richmond, TX was extremely disappointing and concerning. My boyfriend was given medication that staff later could not even recall administering, which raised serious safety concerns. Communication between staff and patient was nearly nonexistent. Any time we asked a question, the response was that someone would “find out,” but no one ever followed up with answers.
At one point, a nurse told my boyfriend he was septic and even suggested he should “act surprised” when she told him. The doctor never once informed him of this diagnosis, which is both life-threatening and something a patient has the right to be fully informed about. This lack of communication and oversight was alarming and unacceptable.
The one positive aspect of his stay was his nurse, David. He was attentive, compassionate, and clearly cared about my boyfriend’s needs. His professionalism stood out compared to the rest of the experience.
Unfortunately, aside from David, the neglect and poor communication we encountered over the past 48 hours make it impossible for me to recommend this hospital.

I am writing to express my frustration and serious concern regarding the medication administration process I experienced during my visit. It is unacceptable that the staff seemed unaware of the antibiotics I was given and their timing. Additionally, there was a lack of knowledge regarding my last pain medication dosage.
I must emphasize that proper procedure requires verification of medication before administration. This oversight not only raises questions about the staff's competence but also places patients' health at risk. It is critical that healthcare providers proactively inform patients about the medications being administered and ensure their safety through proper checks.
I urge you to address these issues promptly to prevent them from recurring. It is essential that all staff are adequately trained and that medication protocols are strictly followed to uphold patient safety and trust.

Entering oak bend receptionist area has not been a good experience, the ladies there are not friendly and they are very confusing! They don't greet you or make you feel welcomed. There was some kind of competition going on there with 2 of the ladies that brought confusion. I felt like they were in a hurry to check me in that the ladies instructions didn't make sense. It's a good thing that I know where women's imaging is because I have been there before. Now my experience in the women's imaging was excellent! The wonderful lady that took care of me was caring, informative and gentle, she made me feel so comfortable and my visit there was so pleasant. I honestly give the a 5 star ⭐ Prayerfully next year when I go there the ladies in the receptionist area are better, or maybe I just need to go somewhere else because every year I go it's the same thing with that area, only reason I have been going back is because ladies in women's imaging are excellent. With all honestly I finally spoke up, hope this helps to make things better.
Thank you

We brought our 8-month-old daughter to the ER on Sunday morning after a choking scare — even though the paramedics had cleared her at home, we were worried and wanted to be 100% sure she was okay. Instead of feeling supported as concerned parents, we were judged and treated unfairly by Dr. Karmout and Nurse Ashley.
From the start, Nurse Ashley had an unwelcoming attitude and asked questions in a way that felt accusatory rather than helpful. Dr. Karmout told us that our daughter had a fractured clavicle (something we didn’t know about and believe may have resulted from a minor fall weeks ago), but gave us no proper explanation, showed us no x-ray, and offered no discharge documents explaining the injury.
The worst part? They made assumptions without asking us key questions — such as whether our child had been left alone (she hadn’t — we were both present during the choking and fall incident.) Despite this, they reported us to CPS, which led to an investigator at our door and emotional trauma for our family.
We came to the ER for help, and instead we were treated like criminals. We love our child deeply and did everything we could to care for her. What we experienced here was hurtful, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. If you’re a parent seeking help, I urge you to go to another hospital. I spoke to Public Relations and let them know I wanted to file a complaint. I also gave my contact information, but I haven’t heard back from anyone.

I entered the ER on Thursday, June 5th, at about 4:30 PM and was discharged at 4:45 PM the same day. I went in because I had a colposcopy with two biopsies on Tuesday, June 3rd, and had been experiencing symptoms of fatigue, heavy bleeding, and dizziness since Wednesday morning. I informed the ER doctor about this and showed her pictures from every bathroom visit over the past two days, which showed a toilet full of blood and large clots. She proceeded to press on my stomach and told me, “everyone’s bodies are different,” which I agree with, but my gynecologist advised me to go to the emergency room if I experienced heavy bleeding because something was wrong. I did not receive an ultrasound, bloodwork, or X-ray; she did nothing. She also offered to prescribe nausea medication, which was unrelated to my situation. The following day, I got an emergency appointment with my gynecologist, who told me that I had been slowly bleeding out for three days because the cauterizing cream applied to my biopsies had come off. She was shocked and upset that this “doctor” turned me away! I would not recommend this emergency room to anyone. They made me feel like my symptoms weren’t real, but they were. I knew that much bleeding wasn’t normal. I will say that the nurse I had was very sweet, and I feel bad that she has to work in a place like this.

Visited in Dec 2024 for a kidney stone. Room was disgusting, the regular trash was full and there were no biohazard bins. Nurse threw all of the materials in regular overflowing trash including the puke bag and used IV equipment. However she left all the wrappers on the bed with me. Nurse was also carrying a morphine vial around in her pocket. Blew my vein when trying to place an IV and not only missed but wiggled the needle around in my arm causing lots of pain.
Knowing the corruption within the exec team, the lack of policies being followed, and the sheer lack of sanitation at all OB facilities, I’d rather die before stepping foot at any OakBend center again.

I went to routine annual exam to Dr. Mohsin Qadri which was covered under my insurance. However, he ran some test that I was not aware that was not covered or it was coded wrongly and my insurance denied it. However, I called insurance and they told me that Dr. office just need re code and bill it to us and then we should be able to cover. I tried calling them , spoke to couple of people from his office and they assured me they will resend the bill with the correct coding but they failed to do and they end up sending my account to credit and impacting my credit score and causing me problems. I would never go to the hospital where I lied to and failure to correct their mistakes. They promise to give me a call but they never do and whenever I call i hardly able to reach and leave a VM.

Absolutely the worst hospital anyone could ever go to. If you need medical attention RUN AWAY from OakBend Medical Center (Williams Way)!
The ER staff, nurses and doctors are unprofessional and incompetent.
On 12/13/24 @ around 3pm my mother went in for a PICC line procedure. It was suppose to be a simple procedure where she was suppose to get antibiotics and go home.
9PM- A contracted nurse by the hospital came in to insert a PICC line. After multiple times of informing the nurse that my mother has contractures do to being bed ridden, he proceeded to pull my mothers arm and broke her shoulder.I immediately informed him which his response was “it’s fine it just popped”.
I requested X-rays which two different doctors lied and said it was ok, it was not until I kept advocating and complained with the nurse manager (that by the way was also not useful) and kept complaining that Quality and Control was called and the came to see what was going on.
To be honest, they took a statement but nothing was done because apparently they can’t tell me the outcome of anything that was done including if there were any reprimands. The doctor refused to send my mother home on any meds after the hospital was responsible for breaking her shoulder.
Nurses are incompetent not even knowing how to insert a Foley catheter. I had to assist and tell them where to place it.
Do to my mother’s condition she wouldn’t benefit from surgery and unfortunately she will have to ride it out and it will eventually heal on its on in 8-12 weeks.
Everyone working at the hospital should be ashamed of the kind of “care” that is provided. I strongly recommend you guys find a different field to work in.
I am SO serious when I say INCOMPETENT and not from one, two or three nurse but the majority of the staff! The worst part is that the doctors aren’t any better.
Stay away from this hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
