Going to give good and bad things: Seton Hall has some teachers that will grade you unfairly and be a bit rude but most are very kind. You won’t really get the college experience, you can’t really have too much fun or have late nights out, as you need to sign people in with ID’s and not past 2am and also no opposite gender or any overnight guests unless you do a form 48 hours before, so you can’t have friends over spontaneously. The RA’s are too invasive, they will walk into your room, laugh, all while you are sleeping when it’s an hour before you have to leave to break. Unlike at other schools, you have to leave at a certain time before break, and if not you have to pay $45 a night which is a lot of money. Parking is extremely expensive too, for a year just it’s like $1k and for overnight it’s $18 and textbooks can be around 500$ and you need to pay for additional programs that isn’t included in tuition that can run about 100$ each, so if 3 classes had them you would have to pay 300$ along with the 500$ for textbooks. In you billing you will see random fees that are expensive like 700$ and if you don’t pay them you can’t register or see transcripts. Good thing about Seton Hall is they offer lots of scholarships but also have many fees and costs. The dean and area coordinators are very kind and caring though. Also, you can’t doordash anything to the buildings so you have to walk to the nearest gate which can be like a five minute walk but it’s not fun in negative degrees in snow. Also, you cannot have a car on campus if you dorm unless you win some type of lottery, so you can’t really have a job or go anywhere, jobs on campus are impossible to get and they barely hire any students. Also compared to other schools, rooms are extremely small and showers are so tiny. The best upperclassmen dorms look much smaller and less modern than the freshmen dorms at other schools. You can’t really enjoy the college experience, it’s not really a party school at all you would have to go to NYC to go out. Train station is a bit of a walk and shuttle won’t take you there. A 30 minute walk is definitely not fun in the cold. By not having cars and for going out, you have to spend a lot on transportation to the city, going out in the city, doordash, and ubers. Though some teachers are unfair, most are extremely professional and all the administration in each specific school is very professional as well, whenever I called an office for help, they have always been extremely kind and supportive. The school itself is good and you can have fun especially in the city since it is close and there is a train station nearby. If you like a smaller school it’s definitely a good choice.
