I recently went to this hospital for a procedure. I received excellent medical services provided by a team of motivated individuals. Everything worked timely and extremely well coordinated and planned. I highly recommend the medical care provided by the team working at the Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital First Colony in Sugar Land.

Easy check in. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I am claustrophobic and had to take Valium prior and the staff ensured I was safe. The technician kept close contact with me. I had been there in 2018 and went back as I was treated very well then and an easy MRI in 2018.

From the moment I walked in this hospital until I walked out it was an amazing experience. The staff & nurses are so helpful, patient & knowledgeable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Not to mention they have the best open MRI machine around.

The medical part of the visit went fine.
BUT
I had to fill out a ton of forms on arrival that I had not seen before and filling them out prior to the procedure was a real hassle.
There were also some protocol matters to attemd to, like the fact I had to remove a tiny sugar monitoering device on my arm. They are costly so a reminder not to wear one prior to the MRI would have saved me having to toss the one I had on.
All the staff were very professional and understanding.

Just be careful they say something over phone and in person is something else, if you have insurance, they will offer you to do a cash pay, for cheaper!!! and still They’ll ask for your insurance, I don’t understand why !!!!!!

My PCP sent me to MHSH First Colony, per my request, for a chest x-ray. I only chose this location as a matter of convenience because my PCP is located next door. When I walked up to the front desk, I informed one of the two girls working that my PCP is next door and she electronically sent over orders for a chest x-ray. The girl who was helping me asked me if I had the orders. Again, I told her my doctor sent them electronically and she's literally next door (about 10 yards). I guess she couldn't find the orders because she called someone. I'm guessing she called radiology. The girl then asked me if I would walk back to my doctor's office to get the paper order because it would make things faster. Seriously?! I went back to my PCP and got the paper orders. After I returned back to MHSHFC, I gave the orders to the girl who had been "helping" me. She then asked me to take a seat, fill out some paperwork, and I would be called back shortly. HA! Shortly?! If you call 2 hours short, then I guess I was called back "shortly." Once I was called back for my x-ray, things moved quite quickly. The radiologist was very sweet. She even walked me out. My whole issue was with being told the electronic orders would "take longer" and being asked to go back to pick up the paper orders because it "would be faster." For who?
What a joke!

I would just like to say that my experience was simply wonderful at Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital. Dan Smith, CEO provided his “thank you” along with reminding me of the outstanding team of nurses to include Nick, Angelica, Shannon and Mehtab who cared for me. They were warm, personable, professional and showed a great deal of compassion while caring for me. I chose Memorial Hermann because it was within the proximity of my home near Sugarland. Dr. Thompson, the anesthesiologist, really eased my anxiety with his sense of humor. I will definitely refer Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital First Colony to my friends seeking a surgical center. I had such a great experience that it actually negated my communications with the billing department about my payment requirements.

Your facility provided excellent patient care! I received great service from Mrs. Tiane upon my arrival for my MRI. She was very nice and helpful. I was extremely nervous because I'm very claustrophobic and never had an MRI. Mrs. Stephanie and Mrs. Alli was very understanding and patient with me and that made all the difference in completing the MRI. They also kept my husband updated during the entire process. Definitely 5 stars!

I had a stellar experience at this facility. From start to finish EVERY staff member was kind and answered any questions with a smile. Thank you to my team...Pre-Op appt with Nurse Candis, my front desk "besties", my operation day team, Nurse Mr. Sig and the lovely young nurse in the LSU headwrap. My anesthesiologist and his partner too good care of me. He sent up a prayer for me and told me I was part of the family and would be treated as such. And my fave ortho Dr. Mays who has been with me since first pain til now. Even the post-op nurses (whose names I can't remember b/c of all the meds) were gentle and kind waking me ans helping me get dressed. They kept my husband in the loop and my doctor spoke to him directly when everything was done. My post op pain meds were called in well before the procedure which was so great! I am simply grateful. I pray I never need this facility again but if anyone I know needs their services, this will 100% be my referral. THANK YOU ALL.
