We had to call the nurses several times to have my loved one turned, which was very concerning. We also had to request clean linens instead of them being provided proactively.

There was also feeding tube food left sitting in the hallway, which is not appropriate and raised concerns about cleanliness and overall care standards.

Some of the nursing staff were not friendly or attentive, which made an already difficult situation even more stressful for our family.

I truly hope improvements are made in patient care and staff responsiveness, as every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and timely care.

My mom was admitted here after a motor vehicle accident. I was expecting way better care from reading the reviews on Google first. But our experience was not great. The first day she was admitted it took two hours before someone even came and checked on her. I went to the nurses station and was told they were in the middle of shift change. Any time I would talk to someone regarding her care I was met with this same attitude the whole time she was there. The nurse managers were the only ones who were professional, which I had to call them sometimes when I could not be there because my mom would be waiting over an hour to have her brief changed and the nurse managers would go find her aide or nurse and make them change her. Anytime I could be there, I would help with taking care of her as much as I could. But it seemed like she only got good attention when I would be there, when she didn’t need them as much. The case manager, Mercy, was horrible at communicating with us. The first time I spoke to her she was already talking about sending her to an SNF. My mom was completely unable to walk and could not get out of bed and only able to use one arm which was not her dominant. We fought for her to stay here until she at least had surgery to remove the pins in her legs and could begin proper therapy but they did not care. I don’t believe the case manager ever tried or advocated on her behalf. I was ready to appeal and had basically written my own appeal letter and it never even got submitted. I spoke to Mercy about my concerns to the point that I got frustrated because she just kept telling me that she could go home and we may have to hire a caregiver to take care of her. She did not care at all about my mom progressing, she only wanted to have her discharged. Imagine going from being completely independent to not even being able to walk, knowing you need more therapy, and a hospital telling you you’re ready to go home and to hire a caregiver and pay them out of pocket. They sprung her discharge date on us at the last minute with only a few days to decide where she should go, and they didn’t send the proper paperwork to insurance so there was a whole mixup of us being financially responsible for almost two weeks. Which was a ridiculous amount of money. We did get this sorted out but it was after so much stress and unnecessary arguing with these people that we were just ready for her to leave. You would expect a hospital like this to advocate and be helpful during the discharge process but they were completely not. There were a few people who stood out and actually cared - Kayla (cna) and Yaya (cna), Sarah (cna), a few nurses. But overall this place does not care about your loved one and I would recommend doing your research and sending them somewhere else if you are able to.
