I was in Memorial Hermann Sugar Land ER on June 5, 2026. They are busy. But, the Dr's that helped me were kind, caring and efficient. I had several nurses taking care of me, and they all went above and beyond for me. They deserve recognition for being great caregivers.

I recently visited Memorial Hermann Sugar Land after fracturing my leg and was admitted to the hospital for several days. From the moment I arrived in the ER until the day I was discharged, every single staff member I encountered was amazing.
The nurses, doctors, technicians, transport staff, and everyone else I interacted with were kind, caring, compassionate, and professional. During a very stressful and painful experience, they treated me with patience and respect and made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way.
I have always had a fear of doctors and hospitals, but this experience truly changed my perspective. The level of care and genuine concern shown by the staff made a difficult situation so much easier to navigate. I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care I received and would highly recommend Memorial Hermann Sugar Land to anyone in need of medical care.

Disgraceful lack of care, zero coordination, and left a patient in agony for 4 days just to discharge her
If you want a hospital that treats your loved one like a medical file on a computer screen rather than a human being in agony, take them to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center. My mother was admitted on Thursday in excruciating pain, and what followed was four days of systemic negligence, wasted time, and broken promises, ending with her being pushed out the door still unable to walk.
Thursday & Friday (The Wasted Days): We waited an entire day just for a lumbar MRI. On Friday, the neurosurgery resident, Dr. Rash, looked at the MRI on a computer, saw a herniated disc, and confidently promised us she would have surgery on Sunday and "go back to normal." He scheduled a major spinal surgery without performing a thorough, hands-on physical exam to see if the image matched her actual clinical pain.
Saturday (The Waiting Game): We wasted another entire day just waiting for her to be transferred to Floor 5.
Sunday (The Surgical Failure): Sunday morning was supposed to be surgery day. They wheeled her to the operating room doors, and only THEN did they perform a basic physical assessment. When they stood her up and had her cross her foot, her pain spiked intolerably. Senior neurosurgeon Dr. Karl Schmitt came to the room, re-examined her, and realized that performing a discectomy on her spine was entirely unsafe because her actual issue was coming from her HIP, not her spine.
The Disconnect: Why did it take four days and wheeling a patient to the doors of an operating room for a doctor to finally do a basic physical mobility exam? If Dr. Rash or any other physician had physically examined her on Thursday or Friday, she wouldn't have been subjected to days of fasting, surgical prep, and psychological stress for a canceled operation.
Monday (Passing the Buck): After canceling the spine surgery, they ordered X-rays, a CT scan, and a hip MRI on Sunday. The results came back today showing a moderate-to-severe arthritic condition and a subchondral impaction fracture (a microfracture in her hip bone). Because this was deemed a "chronic/degenerative" issue rather than an acute trauma, the hospital completely abandoned her. An orthopedic doctor didn't even bother to come up to her room to evaluate her fracture or offer a localized injection to manage her pain. Instead, they sent a neurosurgery resident to hand us discharge papers and clear the bed.
They kept my mother from Thursday to Monday, promised a surgical cure, failed to do a basic physical exam until the absolute last minute, discovered a hip fracture, and then kicked her out of the hospital in severe pain because her diagnosis "no longer fit their department."
The lack of communication, the lazy diagnostic process of treating a computer screen instead of a patient, and the total absence of empathy upon discharge is deeply shameful. Do better, Memorial Hermann.

We got in about 15 mins and ER nurse practitioner assisted us, they took us to triage room where 4 patients shared a room and where sitting in a recliner no bed, we thought it was temporary but then Iv and other medication where administered while we waited there for 4 hours. How can patients who came to ER can sit like that, no-one was comfortable and what if they hv contagious conditions it will easily spread. we never met the duty dr when we asked they said no you only would see ET nurse and they will communicate with duty doctor. I totally understand they might have to deal with more critical patients. However i wanted to post this, so other patients will know what to expect.

Don’t go here! They treat all patients like they are drug seekers! The nurses are ridiculous and lazy! Worst hospital ever! Myself and my family will never go here again! Not just me several family members and friends have been treated horribly. The ER is beyond ridiculous! The staff does not care at all about patients needs or the quality of care! Same on them!

Dipan was so helpful yesterday when my sister and I were trying to find our way to the DeBakey Museum. He took the time to look up directions on our phone and tell us how to get there. He was very pleasant to chat with. I’m taking the time to review him because he took the time to make our visit worthwhile.

Brought my dad in this week for day surgery. Front office staff was friendly and welcoming. The nurses and anyone we had contact with treated my dad and myself with kindness and respect. Thank you, keep up the good work : )

Terrible. Woke up from op and having trouble breathing. Anesthesiologist never gave enough muscle relaxer antidote. Also not happy with being left on my own to take off 'packing' on hole from tube insertion. No instructions on how best to do this. Chances of it opening and blood everywhere seems very high if I get it wrong. Lastly. Many of their phone numbers are classified as spam so one does not hear a phone call from them. The most important person should be the co ordinator and it is Christie's number that is spam. AND THEY KNOW THIS AND HAVE NOT GOT A PLAN B. terrible.
