The surgery center itself was great. The billing/customer service on the back end is an absolute nightmare. I have contacted customer service 3 times - due to me having no financial responsibility. Yet - no refund has been received and they keep charging my card every month for the payment plan i was forced to sign up for and ended up being covered at 100%.

The ER at this hospital is the worst. The doctor didn't even look at me. She came into the room, was there for two seconds, and left. I was in excruciating pain; they made me wait three hours even though I arrived by ambulance. Don't go there. Methodist Hospital is much better.

I had a bunion surgery at this hospital and I was still sleepy from the anesthesia. The nurse was hitting me on my right shoulder over and over trying to get me to wake up to discharge me. I was still out of it when I was put in my car. This is unacceptable Memorial Hermann

I do not recommend this ER.
Came in multiple times with actual emergencies, including a CSF leak, and had to wait multiple hours before getting any kind of care. Asked for a stretcher to lie down and all we got was dismissal and refusal

I am submitting this complaint because of a series of administrative failures at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center that caused me significant emotional distress, financial risk, and disruption to my medical care.

For weeks leading up to my surgery, I repeatedly contacted Memorial Hermann to notify staff that my insurance had changed. My previous plan through Harris County (Aetna) was being cancelled, and I had transitioned to Oscar. I provided my updated group number, policy information, and made it explicitly clear that Aetna must not be billed under any circumstances. Each time I called, I was told the information was updated.

On the day of my surgery — after completing all required pre‑operative preparations, fasting, arranging transportation, missing work, and mentally preparing for the procedure — I arrived only to be told that none of my updated insurance information was on file. Not only was my insurance incorrect, but even my mother’s information was wrong. The entire registration was a mess.

This was not a small oversight. I drive for Uber, and the stress of this situation has pushed me into counseling. I have been juggling work, medical appointments, insurance changes, and surgery prep. I trusted Memorial Hermann to handle the administrative side correctly, especially after I called multiple times to confirm. Instead, I was blindsided at the worst possible moment.

Because of these errors, my surgery was jeopardized, my time was wasted, and my mental health suffered. I am requesting a formal review of how my information was mishandled, why my repeated calls were ignored, and what steps Memorial Hermann will take to ensure this does not happen to another patient.

I expect follow‑up from Patient Relations and documentation of the investigation into this incident.

My husband was hospitalized and never had the chance to return home – what a cruel fate! Even the doctor treating him said to the patient, "He can't live much longer, his condition isn't improving, when will your family come?", while I, his wife, was by his side. One thing needs to be understood: even if it's true, one shouldn't say it bluntly because a strong spirit is more powerful than any medicine from a doctor who has forgotten their conscience and is blinded by the truth. ICU 924 🙏

I was transferred to this hospital for emergency surgery due to a giant ovarian cyst that was causing Ovarian Torsion. I spent maybe 20 minutes here as the Dr decided he would not be doing the surgery because "preserving fertility" was more important than stopping the severe pain i was in or avoiding a possible life threatening situation and the cyst would "go away on its own".
Upon being discharged, I was prescribed to take 2,400 MG of ibuprofen every day for 2 weeks. 4 days of that had me almost dead of my feet and feeling sick from the moment I woke up to the time I tried to sleep.
I got in to see a competent Dr at a quality hospital and they ordered immediate surgery, noting that the cyst had gotten even bigger in just a week. After surgery we learned that I had 3 huge cysts that had completely overtaken ovary (the one the other Doctor was so adamant on protecting) and I had zero normal ovarian tissue left.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL! They will ignore your pain, over prescribe painkillers and push you out the door with no actual help but still taking your money.

As much as memorial Hermann has saved me over the years and been good to me, the billing department has not, as of recent. I wanted A lowered monthly payment and they wouldn’t agree to which they put my account in collections after one month of me saying all I could Pay them was $50? Now before, I’ve never missed a payment and have paid off all my accounts over the past 5 years. This is ridiculous; please work with the customers who have always been in good standing but need a lowered payment.

Dr. Obianuju Eziolisa, DO, was very rude and dismissive during my visit. I came in because I was genuinely concerned about my health, but I felt like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously. Her attitude made me feel uncomfortable, and I even asked if I could see a different doctor. I was told no because she was the head doctor.

When I asked why she was treating me that way, her attitude seemed to get worse. I left feeling unheard, disrespected, and disappointed with the care I received. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hospital. Patients deserve to feel listened to, respected, and cared for, especially when they’re seeking medical help.

I have filed a formal complaint and am exploring my legal options regarding my experience.
