We were told how “amazing” this Hosptial is. They do have a great therapy program. However we have experienced the following:
-over a 20 minute wait time after hitting the nurse call button
-they forgot to give the patient dinner
-some of the nurses are great, but some are apathetic
-there was a COCKROACH in the bathroom

Overall, the experience was ok. The place is clean and people are friendly. There are times when we had to follow up with nurses for questions we asked. We understand that they are busy and it is not a big problem. However there is one thing that made me write this review. One doc came in and checked on our family member. When I asked him questions , he seemed very impatient and told me that he explained to me 3 times already ( which I don’t recall ) and that he has his family waiting for him. I appreciate that he checked on us late in the evening. However he is a doctor and we are his patient. He has the responsibility to attend to his patent and address any questions. He should’ve planned better to make sure he allocate enough time for each patient and answer any possible questions. We should not be punished by the doctor’s poor planning. So please, please set priorities right, do a better job planning, do a better job scheduling, do a better job helping your patient and their family, as we wanted to believe our loved one is in good hands.

My father recently stayed at this inpatient rehab facility, and while there were some positives, overall our experience was disappointing.

The therapy team was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely invested in my father’s rehabilitation. As a therapist myself, I felt confident in the care he received from the therapy staff and trusted their clinical judgment and dedication.

I specifically chose this location because I also work at a PAM facility out of town, and based on my professional experience, I expected a high standard of interdisciplinary care. Unfortunately, the nursing care did not meet those expectations. Communication from the nursing staff was inconsistent, and it was often difficult to get clear answers about my father’s day-to-day care. Requests for assistance were not always addressed in a timely manner, and it was concerning to feel uncertain about whether his basic needs were being adequately monitored outside of therapy sessions. Discharge planning was also poorly coordinated, with limited communication with case management. Most concerning, my father developed two new wounds during his stay, which we believe were related to inadequate turning, repositioning, and changing. This was extremely distressing, as preventing skin breakdown is a basic and critical component of nursing care.

I do want to acknowledge that Dr. N took the time to listen to my concerns, provided thoughtful guidance, and offered sound medical advice. I truly appreciated her expertise and responsiveness during a difficult situation.

Inpatient rehabilitation plays a critical role in recovery, and while the therapists provided excellent care, the quality of nursing care and communication significantly impacted our overall experience.

The admission team, MDs, nursing staff, PT/OT/ST specialists were awesome. My parents can't say enough about how much they loved them. 10/10 for those folks, BUT, honestly, if I could give 2 separate reviews, I'd give the discharge team (the case managers) 2/10. They handled Mom well. It seems like they were in a rush to get my father out before the 4th of July holiday, though, despite us having filed appeals with my Dad's insurance to have him stay longer for more care. We won the appeal, but the case management team had already transferred my father before the decision came back. I would like to name actual names here of who we dealt with, but to be fair, I won't (especially because one of the offenders has already been mentioned in a previous review). The case management team would eventually blame my parents for agreeing to the transfer, but my parents said our main point of contact was basically missing in action the day they forcibly discharged my Dad. I reached out to our main point of contact twice after the fact about it, she never called me back. I eventually got her boss on the phone, and he had all sorts of excuses and was super defensive, despite us winning the appeal. Case management left an awful taste in my mouth after what could have been a great stay.

My husband was transferred to PAM Heights from Memorial Herman following a tragic work incident. All of the nurses that attended him were phenomenal and always in such good uplifting spirits. OT/PT were also kind. Unfortunately when it came to case management they were mediocre. I was contacted initially when it came to his admission following that nobody communicated with neither him nor us. When it came close to his discharge he had to attend post op visits. One his visits with a neurosurgeon to have staples removed was missed because they clearly didn’t know what they were doing. When addressed they had the audacity to point fingers back to me and my husband who was bed bound at the time and literally didn’t even know the names of the surgeons or procedures done to him. They claimed the appointment was made and then canceled by “us”. I contacted people higher in command and our workers comps case manager to figure out was going on after they literally transported my husband to his “canceled appointment” Rosa the case manager phoned me with an attitude asking me what was I “confused” about she then proceeded to visit my husband in his room with the same attitude asking him “what was his wife confused about” mind you this was our first interaction with her in the two weeks he was there. I can’t imagine how they are with the elderly community who has even more trouble understanding their care. I spoke with the Neurosurgeons team and an appointment was never made much less canceled. I had to male the appointment myself after he was discharged. Medications that were sent out and were to ve covered by workers comps case manager weren’t because they weren’t sent with any other information. I had to pay out pocket for 3 of those and still cannot obtain the rest because it still doesn’t show they are covered.

The physical therapy staff was phenomenal and the the nurses were great. There were a few CNA's that were exceptional Briana,Yassa,CJ,and a couple more. The physical therapist that were great and were getting me toward my goal to stand were Morgan,Derion, Lindsey and a few more. They work exceptionally hard to help you reach your goal. My problem is with the Case Manager Nicole. She talks down to you as if you you are stupid. She also did not shelter. My overall opinion of this facility is a 9. DDtry to assist me in the best placement for and stopped me from filling an appeal to remain at their facility to complete my goalof standing. Lastly she didn't assist the facility to find a closer dialysis site but yet she sent me to a facility (Afton Oaks rated a 1.8 which in my opinion was worser that a hurricane shelter. Upon my ,, Nicole the case Manager needs a course in how effectively do what is best for a patient instead of doing what is easy. The facility that said my dialysis site was too far could have been corrected by her simply making a call to get a site closer the facility discharge I and my . In my opinion the C.E.O. and Nicole have never attempted to contact me about my treatment plan and the lack of completing my goal show an uncaring and unprofessional attitude regarding a vulnerable patient unable to stand which was my goal. Thanks to Dr.s Matt, Strauss and Patel for their care and compassion shown to me while at their facility.
daughter tried to call her again and again and she never returned a call to us. My care was put in jebeopardy as well as my life because
