The team Ripley’s did a fantastic job communicating and executing the large job of replacing the ac condenser and drier on my 2017 F-150. All points of repair were always communicated to me and it was done in a timely manner. Not to mention the professionalism of the shop, I always felt secure and in good hands. This was especially important because I had a rather large ticket. I would recommend Ripley’s if you want some top-notch service done in a proper manner!

Exceptionally professional! Repairs to be performed were itemized with total labor and parts cost. This made it easy to prioritize which repairs to perform in order. Photos were taken and texted to me showing what part(s) were in question as well as other areas of my vehicle that they checked.

The dealership quoted me $3100 for a steering pump replacement and Ripleys worked with me to get the price down under 1k. Power steering works great and I saved a ton of cash.

I used their FM1960 location over a decade (closer to 2 decades) ago on my Supra exhaust, fast forward, I live in Spring and visited their Spring location this week (23 Jun 2026). I needed an alignment after some suspension work I did. They got it aligned told me things I needed to consider about my tires and job done. Car rides well and drives straight, no pulling. Awesome work and no pressure. In and out as they said. Appreciate their help and I'll definitely be using them moving forward. Not sure why I didn't consider them for my now 'fleet' of vehicles with teen drivers and family.

I am writing this review with mixed emotions because my early interactions with Ripley’s were highly positive. When I first approached them about a complex timing chain repair, the staff was incredibly professional and helpful. An associate took the time to discuss the job in detail and, because OEM parts were triple the price, agreed to let me provide my own aftermarket parts. To be absolutely certain before spending any money, I even visited the shop a second time in person to re-confirm. They advised me on the risks of aftermarket parts, but when I stated I would accept that risk, they explicitly reaffirmed they would do the work.

Unfortunately, this is where the experience broke down in a way that could have easily been avoided.

Based entirely on that clear, double-confirmed agreement, I ordered $2,000 worth of parts. Once they arrived, I emailed the shop the itemized list to ensure nothing was missing. It was only at this point that the shop informed me they had changed their mind and could no longer service my vehicle.

Their explanation was that they didn't want to risk tying up a service bay if the aftermarket parts turned out to be incomplete or incorrect. I want to emphasize that this is a completely valid business concern, and I respect it. The disappointment lies in the fact that they knew this exact risk from day one. No new information had changed between the time they gave me the green light and the time they backed out.

Because they waited until the parts arrived to reverse their decision, I was past the return window and am now stuck with $2,000 of parts I cannot use.

Up until the very end, I found the team at Ripley's to be courteous and knowledgeable. However, backing out of a clear agreement after a customer relies on your word to make a major purchase is incredibly frustrating. This entire situation could have been avoided if they had simply given me a firm, consistent "no" from the beginning.

My wife’s car wouldn’t shift out of park. We had it towed to the Rayford location and they were able to help get it off the flatbed tow truck into the shop. It was fixed the next day and works great.

Thanks Charlie for the great review and trust over last several years to keep your vehicles safe and on the road. We know that keeping your 2008 Chevy truck moving and a/c blowing cold and back on the road quickly doesn't interrupt your work. Be safe out there.

Took my 1999 Sable wagon for a lean code I was having and my ac fixed after it decided not to work after doing a little tune up (lol). Mr. Drew reached out me and explained what the issues were and what it was going to take to get her fixed. My wagon now has working ac and she no longer has a weird struggle when starting up sometimes. I am grateful that Ripley's was able to take care of my old wagon and will be planning on coming back.

Thank you for trusting us with your 99 Mercury Sable wagon—we’re glad we could get the A/C blowing cold again and take care of that startup concern. It's hot out there and driving without air conditioning is quite miserable. Drew and the team appreciate the opportunity to help, and we look forward to seeing you again when you need us. Safe driving!

I'd like to give praise and kudos to Ripley's Automotive on Rayford rd in Spring Tx. I needed a thermostat housing for a V6 Ford Mustang and they did a remarkable job not only on the car, but they're professionalism and a better price than anyone else. I got a quote from 1 other Auto repair which double the amount of the quote I got from Ripley's. I also want to thank the service advisor Andrew (Drew) for his professionalism and actually listened to the issues I had and insured me they would take care of me. After inspecting the entire job I realize they went above and beyond the Call of Duty. I highly recommend Ripley's Total Car Care and from now on I will just go straight there because it's nice to know a company that will take care of you at a very fair price. And last but not least they even gave me a ride home and pick me up to get my car by very nice gentleman named Sean. Overall a wonderful and great experience

Thank you David for that review and feedback. I couldn't ask for better professionals to be running our shops. They really care and I am glad it shows. I will share this with Drew and Shawn and let them know how much this meant to you and to me.

They did a great job with my 1997 F250 5.8L. It wouldn’t start when we had it towed in. Now it starts and runs great. I chose Ripley’s because they were at least willing to try to fix it. The other shops I called said no we can’t work on it. It’s too old. I’ll be taking all my repair needs to Ripley’s. Mark and his crew are outstanding!!

Reply from Ripley's Total Car Care business 4 Jun 2026

Thank you Mr. Chapman we love hearing that. We may be a little rusty on some of the older vehicles like your 97 F250 Pre OBD computer age vehicles, but it's just as satisfying to us to hear them purr again, or in your case rumble again. We look forward to a long relationship with all your vehicles.

⭐ 1 Star – Negligence, Poor Workmanship, and Zero Accountability

I don’t write reviews lightly, but this experience was beyond unacceptable.

I’ve spent over $2,000 at Ripley’s Total Car Care in Spring, TX, including $202.22 for a coolant flush that, according to another shop, was never actually performed.

But the bigger issue? Safety.

After a previous visit where Ripley’s installed a fan in my vehicle, my steering wheel began shaking and the car started rattling. When I brought my car back, I specifically asked them to:

* Investigate the shaking
* Perform a coolant flush

They did neither.

1. The rattling was still there when I left
2. The coolant flush was charged, but not done

At that point, I no longer trusted their work and took my car to another shop.

What they found was alarming:

* A bolt/screw from the fan Ripley’s installed was missing or not secured properly
* This is what caused the shaking and rattling
* The issue came directly from Ripley’s previous work

Let me be clear:
This wasn’t just a missed detail, this was negligence.

They installed the part incorrectly the first time…
Then had a second opportunity to inspect it…
And still failed to catch their own mistake.

That’s not just poor service, that’s dangerous.

And it didn’t stop there.

We reached out to Ripley’s to ask why we were charged for a coolant flush that wasn’t done and to address the safety issue.

📞 No returned calls
📞 No accountability
📞 No attempt to make it right

They simply ghosted us.

In today’s economy, businesses survive on trust, ethics, and accountability. Ripley’s failed on all three. I know for sure it wasn’t performed because at the new shop they walked me to my car up on the riser to show me a flush test they did and I saw him test the coolant. It was old.

Because of this:

* They’ve lost two vehicles worth of business
* Both are luxury foreign cars requiring ongoing service
* And they’ve lost a customer who was willing to invest in quality care

Instead, we found a shop that immediately identified the issue and fixed everything properly the first time.

These men smiled in my face all while charging me for work not completed. If you’re a woman alone DO NOT bring your car here, you will regret it.

And at this point, I understand the name.

“Rip”ley’s fit.

I will never return and will never recommend them to anyone who values their safety, their time, or their money. Additionally EVERYTHING they recommended us to get done and actually tried to get done on that second visit, was not broken. I have video and pictures I requested while in the shop of the new dealership. I will happily give my money to hands down the best mechanic shop we were able to find right in our area. My car isn’t shaking anymore and no more noises.
